The best thing of the hotel is the people! So nice and always with a smile making sure you are having a great time. The room really comfortable and clean, complimentary water, tea and fruit are a great plus. Breakfast was great with a lot of options that changed every day. Location is good! Away from all the noice but close to the bazar and shops. Right there at the hotel we rented a motorcycle and hired a car with driver for a one day tour, both were great experiences and the people in the reception really make everything easy for you.

From the moment we were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink, to the moment we said goodbye and were handed some tasty rice crackers for our onward journey, our stay at Nak Nakara has so far on a our trip around Thailand been the best, by some way! At checkin the receptionist gave us a map of the local area, his personal favourite restaurant recommendations (we went with them, and they were indeed great local haunts), and overall just more helpful than we’ve ever experienced, he came across very genuine about us wanting to enjoy your stay. Our room was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The entire property come to think of it was immaculate. Unsurprising given the attention to detail the cleaning team and all members of staff pay. The pool was spacious and clean; with sun loungers very comfortable and pool towels provided. The breakfast selection was so wide and varied throughout our stay, if that is all we ate during our stay I still would have been satisfied; fresh fruits, cereals, Thai dishes, pastries, Western dishes, a proper cappuccino, and egg station. They really do cater for everyone. WiFi in our room was strong enough to stream Netflix on there smart TV. As mentioned hats off to all the staff; everyone we came into contact with was genuinely friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay there and have already recommended the hotel to fellow travellers. Huge thanks!

The only room for improvement I can think of would be to provide fresh orange juice as opposed to the ones loaded with sugar. It would also be good to see any marketing materials showing the riding of elephant’s removed, in addition to any material promoting the riding of elephant’s.

The staff were exceptional, super helpful, communicative and responsive. They go the extra mile for you. Lots of lovely touches in the hotel such as free bottled water, snacks, fruit & tea throughout the stay (help yourself), pool towels next to pool, cushions and comfy sunbeds, and the pack of rice crackers as a parting gift. The staff always checking everything is ok. The room was comfortable, spacious, plenty of room for our belongings. The shower was good and aircon worked well. Great location, a 5-10 min walk to night bazaar where food and atmosphere was excellent. Quiet location, no noise at all.

I would have given a 10 but only disappointment was the price of the wine. It was more than double what you could find in town (all other drinks were similar prices). We expect to pay a little more in hotel but not that much. Shame as would have liked to enjoy a drink or 2 next to the pool in the evenings.

Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. A larger then usual fridge and freezer. King size bed and plenty of space to put our things. Breakfast varied each morning and was always tasty and delicious. The egg station boys were always happy and ready to cook yummy eggs of our choice. The pool was large and quite cool and refreshing-a little slippery on the steps though. Staff were all lovely, patient and happy to go out of their way to help answer and explain answers to our questions. House keeping were very efficient and friendly also. The hotel is very centrally located to the walking street, day and night bazar markets. We hired a motorbike and went to the white temple, blue temple, big Buddha and surrounds. Food at the hotel was expensive compared to the surrounding Thai restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

Pool drinks and food were expensive. Although the top floor was great there are no lifts here.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good with choices of American and Thai noodles. The room was spacious, clean and confortable. Love the complimentary bottled water throughout the hotel.

The beds should be upgraded. The mattress was old and too soft.

This place surpassed our expectations for the price we paid! Welcoming and kind staff. Free water + snacks in the lobby. Bicycles for rent. So many amenities! Room was spacious and comfortable. No complaints at all there. The breakfast is buffet style and was absolutely delicious. A nice mix of Thai + American + European friendly options. Cannot recommend the breakfast enough. Chiang Rai is a smaller city too, meaning we were able to get pretty much anywhere we wanted within a 30 minute walk. The Blue Temple is around a 30 minute walk, too! The night market is around a 18-22 minute walk which was nice (GO HERE! SO GOOD!). Great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. Overall this place felt like a nice, quiet, luxurious resort for the price we paid and was our favorite hotel in Thailand throughout our 2 week stay in the country. Also we arrived early and the staff were able to hold our luggage. Always a big plus.

We came in December, but the pool was FREEZING! Too cold to get in for us, so just note that! Note that before you check out and leave in many hotels, including this one, the staff must check your room before you are allowed to leave. Just note that before you order a Grab/Bolt/car to allocate 5-10 minutes max after you drop your keys to when you actually leave.

Was a lovely traditional hotel which is what we were wanting. the gardens were lovely and there were multiple butterflies flying around near the pool :) Staff were helpful and lovely and rooms and grounds were clean. Front desk staff were really helpful in finding us drivers for tours and information to plan our days. The location is excellent - walking distance from markets etc and also got the sense that the area was very safe - schools around etc. Pool was perfect temperature and a nice spot to relax.

There was scaffolding over the main building for maintenance works when we were there which was a bit unlucky however it was no major issue and didn't affect us too much aside from a small amount of noise. Keep in mind bar is not open all night so if you want a drink late at night you'll need to have something in your fridge :) Staff did not seem to want smoking in the pool area also, meaning you would need to go out the front however it was not strict.

Good size room and bathroom, had a safe that worked and a tv which connected to Android channels. Good size pool though not very deep, decent breakfast. Great central location, helpful staff.

We booked a car & driver for the day and selected our preferred sightseeing spots from a list of available choices. It would be helpful if this list had included additional info such as entry fees (for the hill tribe village this was 300 baht per person, a total rip off in our opinion) which might have helped us with our selection. On our last day we had a very early checkout and the hotel gave us breakfast boxes but no cutlery to eat it with - don’t bother with this the food was terrible.

Large, very clean room. Friendly welcome, including giving us a hand drawn map and tips on where to go in the city. It was cool enough at night to have the window open, rather than A/C - mosquito screens on the windows made that an option. Pool area was good and there was a small bar. We walked into town for a (rather mediocre) dinner, but there was also a small restaurant right next door to the hotel which looked nice. Good breakfast with lots of choice

Very minor things such as using industrial/fixed dispensers for soap and shampoo in the shower. The pool isn’t open for use until 10 am. Not a problem when we were there, as it rained, but I’d normally have liked to swim before breakfast

Staff were friendly and could not have been more helpful. They organised a driver for sightseeing. Provided a walking map and took charge of ensuring our missing bag which never left Bangkok was reunited with us. The free water and snacks were great. Breakfast was nice. There was excellent coffee. The pool although not large was clean. Towels were plentiful and toilets by the pool were spotless. The free watermelon brought to the pool by staff was a nice touch. It's a 10 minute walk to the night market and shops.

Bathroom doors are annoying and the safety chain is challenging. The hotel looks a little drab from the front but once in it's a nice place to stay.
