We booked a room in one of the triangle bungalows. The room was small (not enough space for our yoga practice) but we liked the vibe here so we booked it again a few days later. The bed was comfortable with a soft pillow instead of the thick hard ones that gives us neckpain. We slept well! The bathroom was ok with a good shower. The AC worked well. The room and bathroom were both very clean. The host was friendly and helpful. We loved the sweet nice dogs. It's also a nice place to sit outside if you don't want to stay indoors. Location is really good close to restaurants and on walking distance of the River Kwai Bridge. Even though Sam's house is located in a busy street it was quiet at night. Recommended! 🌼

I loved the greenery and the dogs . The staff were very helpful and sams daughter is very friendly. I loved the morning breakfast . The river view cottages are more exciting. Overall a very very south east asian feel to it. It's 50 metres away from the main street and on evenings the street is a pleasant place to walk. There are bike rentals and car rentals nice bars and massage centres which are really amazing. 2km to bridge on the river kwai and 1km to the world war 2 museum and cemetery

We had the Deluxe room, which was at the end/corner of the facility. It was awesome waking up to the amazing view, in an airconditioned wooden hut on the river. I, personally, found the fact that the building was not perfectly level added to the character of the house. The owner was enormously helpful and very fun in interactions.

Using the bathtub in a slanted house is less ideal, as you can imagine, still very much possible. The bathroom had a bit of a smell.

The location itself is pretty great - you can walk to the cemetery and the death railway museum, and on the next day walk to the bridge - the hotel is in the middle between the two. It's a nice place, but I recommend taking either shared bungalow or the "apartments" upstairs or even just a bed only bungalow around the reception, because the wifi works not so great the closer you get to the river. I also like two pillows instead of one big, since I don't like big pillows. The staff was friendly and allowed us to switch the bungalows.

The bathtub was pretty scarily tilted, and had some damp water in the corner. The AC is aimed straight to your bed and there's no option to make it less cold, so we chose to use the fan that is sort of louder.

Follow the signs down the alley, and you'll come to this hidden gem on the river's edge. Quiet, calm and built over the reeds... go to sleep to the sound of crickets, frogs, and other chirping critters! Sam's is in the heart of the neighbourhood that caters to visitors, so you'll easily find restaurants, massages, laundry and moto rentals. Moon, the host, is lovely...relaxed, upbeat and helpful with maps, tips and spare sun-brellas!

No concerns

Great location nearby plenty of restaurants, bars, etc. Also about a mile walk to the River Kwai Bridge (totally doable) and plenty more restaurants and cafes along the way. Also walking distance to the train station where you can catch a train to neighboring towns (though if you are traveling with luggage it’s easier to get a taxi to the train than walk). We stayed in a bungalow which was very spacious and had a nice private front porch. There is also a large communal seating area by check-in and breakfast and coffee can be purchased for a reasonable price. Overall great value for the money, we were very comfortable and happy with the location. Staff was very pleasant!

Shower wasn’t the best, had to play around with it to get hot water and the pressure wasn’t great, but it’s a hand-held so easy to maneuver as needed.

Beautiful location down by the river, amazing and smily people who worked there always checking out we were okay during our stay. The rooms were so clean and each individual cabin has its own porch to sit out on to enjoy the sounds of natures and be completely relaxed. The perfect place for us to relax and soak in all the beauty of Kanchanaburi when not on the go, couldn’t recommend this place enough!

The location is perfect, 15 - 20 minute walk from the railway station, about 25 minutes to walking street on a Saturday which is mad and a must do. About the same to the Bridge. Lovely staff, super quiet and peaceful, great home cooking restaurant just out and left for about 4 mins past the 7-11. Wash and Go on the corner for laundry and great grab food options if you just want to stay in.... perfect stay.

The location is fantastic & only about 10min walk to the Bridge on the river Kwai. The river at the back of the property is beautiful & fascinating to sit back watch. Moon on reception was amazing & so friendly. She was helpful & lots of fun. The kids also loved playing with the friendly dogs.

It would be nice if there was a pool

Very kind, heartfelt and hardworking staff. The owner was always ready to answer questions and help where needed. We lost something from our stroller at the station and contacted us after our stay to retrieve it when we already gave up our hopes. 🙏 We were sleeping in a family room away from the river (a lot safer, with two kids), but staying at bungalows next to the river looks amazing. As a small note, there are (friendly) dogs and cats at the guesthouse.
