nice area with great local restaurants off the beach and a large resort near by. we had to change rooms on arrival but happy with the 2nd one which was clean and very comfortable bed and a good size with cute little balcony over the pool with gorgeous sunset views abs plenty of room in the grounds, round pool and on beach - very spacious!! helpful reception/guest services staff.

some staff on reception were great but a few of the team on F&B were rude and seemed like it was an inconvenience to help us. sometimes in big places it feels like there’s less personal guest care. the restaurant bangs out loud music at breakfast - they need to consider their paying guests more and set the right vibe. they could also offer more intimate dinners as they have the space. seems like they’re not keen to do anything more than breakfast

- comfortable beds and furniture everywhere, including the garden and beach - tasteful decor throughout - incredibly helpful and nice staff, especially the beach boys. They went above and beyond - perfect transport options, making arrival and departure very stress free - good breakfast - great kayak rental (but an SUP board would have been nice too) - perfect location on a wonderful clean, swimmable beach near the little Main Street with cute shops and restaurants

- not the cleanest place I have ever stayed, but no major problems. - unpleasant smell in the room. An air freshener would be great - loud and repetitive music from the beach bar sometimes made it difficult to read and relax, but that’s just my personal taste - restaurant and bar were good but slightly too expensive to compete with other options around

- It would be good to have some entertainment at the hotel in the evenings as the surrounding area is very quiet and there’s not much to do at night time - Breakfast could be better and the choice of vegetarian food in the pool menu could be better - We saw the peacocks tied up, it would be nice to see them roaming freely as the hotel grounds are big enough

The rooms, pool and beach access is great. The bed was confortable and the size of the room is good. The breakfast is also very good and they provided us with a packed breakfast on the day we were leaving as we left before the breakfast buffet opened. The location is also nice, but some of the nicer restaurants are in the north part of the island. Overall very comfortable stay and good value for money (booked with a discount). The hotel also helped us move our stay with one day free of charge. Not all the staff speaks English, but there is usually English speaking staff around to help. The sunset from the hotel property was beautiful

It was difficult to get a hold of the hotel to change our booking. The staff at the hotel were not very helpful with recommendations when I went to ask for some help. The premises are 5 stars, but the service is not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.

The place is spectacular. A beautiful setting and view, right on the beach. The amazing pool and facilities were all an easy walk to our room and outside businesses, including restaurants and massage. The comfortable room with balcony, the plentiful breakfast provided and tasty menu and drinks for other meals were very convenient. Staff were helpful in booking transport and boat rides when needed.

The only thing that was disappointing was there were two menus listing multiple mocktails along with other drinks, but none were available. Updates needed!

Property was well maintained. Staff were attentive. We went in Monsoon season it rained twice for short periods. This made for the perfect getaway. The resort was fully staffed and had a handful of guests. EXCELLENT. Beach and swimming pool couldn’t be closer.

It’s not a criticism of the property but the island is not accessible after 5pm until early morning. Take this into consideration. We overcame this situation by staying a few nights in Phuket. Whilst at Royal Yoa Yoi we arranged all our excursions from the crack of dawn. Scuba, snorkelling, island hopping and animal sanctuary visits.

The Royal Yao Yai is the perfect place to relax for a few days. You have everything you need inside the location, with the option to do kayak for free and to walk to the beach straight from the pool. Different restaurants are available nearby and you can easily rent scooters if you want to go around the island. The staff was super friendly and they helped us to organise our trip back to Phuket

Check in was chaotic, all boats arrive before 2pm so everyone is trying to check in at the same time. Really bad process of getting everyone's details and therefore took alot longer than it should. Service at Breakfast was poor. Its an island and they obviously struggle to retain staff numbers, however it was a 40 minute line for eggs and the coffee machine was crazily slow. It was actually that bad, it was funny with all hotel guests laughing about it. We are there to relax so not rushing and therefore didn't spoil the the trip.

Location was outstanding with a wonderful beach and safe swimming. Breakfast had a fairly good choice of different foods but on occasion had to queue for the egg chief for too long. The cocktail bar on the beach was fun with good service and value.

Had three kayaks available but nothing else which was a shame as it is the perfect venue for paddle boarding as the next hotel along the beach proved. The restaurant provided very good food but lacked any atmosphere but as the hotel is surrounded by different options it was their lose.

Nicely decorated hotel with a clean and warm outdoor pool, right on the beach. We enjoyed our stay very much, the room was clean, beautiful and bright and the breakfast had lots of options but not as many as we would have hoped for vegetarians. We especially enjoyed watching the sunset on the beanbags on the beach. The staff was friendly and all in all we had a great time.

We were told we could check in earlier (1 hour), but in the end we were there 20 minutes before the official check in time and had to wait anyway in the lobby for 40 minutes. The food in the hotel restaurant isn't really good and very expensive in comparison to the rest of the island and there were barely any vegetarian options.
