I liked how clean everything was. The young lady working in the office was also extremely kind and helpful. The free bicycles make travel to nearby locations much more convenient! Air conditioning is also very effective and I had no issues with noise during my stay.

Drain in shower may have been slightly plugged as water took a while to drain. There is a paid washing machine but no dryer unfortunately. Gym lacks free weights and is 50% filled with bicycles.

We stayed here for the close location to SoiDog while we volunteered - highly recommend this accomodation for anyone else volunteering at SoiDog. The concierge was very helpful and spoke excellent English, giving us bicycles to use for our commute each day, making it an easy 5 minute ride each way along quiet rural roads. She was a hero, very thoughtful and considerate of our needs! The room was spacious, bright and clean and the pool was a lovely way to recharge after a day of dog walking in the heat. Although close to the beach, the waves at the beach weren't appropriate for swimming so we were very glad to have the pool. The restaurant down the road at the beachside was good with lots of options, and 7/11 was also close by. The small kitchenette in the room allowed us to prepare breakfasts and there was a microwave and laundry facilities to use downstairs. We will be staying here again next time we visit SoiDog!

The lady at the check-in desk was really affable and kind. There were bicycles and a gym included in the price, and so were water, tea, coffee and sugar in the room. The location is nice if you're looking for a quiet place. There's almost nobody at the beach, the sea was extremely calm and waveless, the water was crystal clear. Not too far there's the famous plane spot where you can take some cool shots of aircraft landing and taking off. Also I want to mention a big number of power outlets. Actually there're much more positive things to mention but I've said about the most important ones.

These drawbacks are not addressed to the hotel itself, but are more like moments guests should keep in mind. As I booked the hotel at the last moment due to special circumstances, I had to book a 4-person luxury room, though I travelled alone. Therefore the price was quite sensitive to me, but I hope and actually am quite sure that this is just a result of the high demand and late booking, so no discontent here. The second moment is about the lack of infrastructure, that, of course, isn't the fault of the hotel. So while staying in a quiet place keep in mind that it can be hard to have a big choice of groceries, restaurants, souvenir shops etc.

Gail is a wonderful host and very helpful with any issues we had at the property and informing us re locations of restaurants/ things to do in the area. Once we changed rooms, the room and balcony overlooking the pool and surrounding area was wonderful. Very clean and bed linen and towels changed on alternate days. Short walk to the beach. Short distance and low cost to be taken to the airport.

Initially the actual location of the property was disappointing, as it felt quite remote from local amenities. But we like to walk and found that there was a lot more on offer than we initially thought there was. Tuk tuks and taxis readily available if you prefer. The sea currents and undertow are very strong, which would could make it dangerous for children and non confident swimmers.

It was a great stay. first an administrator was super helpful and very kind :) Room was spacious and very clean, with all amenities you could need. Pool is fantastic. they also let us stay after check out by the pool and use shower, as our flight was late. Location is great - a few restaurants in 5 min walking distance and a beach :) beach is very nice here. and sunset is stunning. I can only recommend this holet.

Excellent location, very close to the beach & walking distance to shops like Seven 11, a small supermarket & restaurants. It is set amongst where the locals live which gave us a lovely insight of how the hard working locals live & go about carrying out their lives & businesses . The best thing about MaiKhao Beach Residence was the Manager, Gail. Gail was extremely helpfully & resourceful & nothing was too hard. We truly appreciate all the help and guidance from her. Highly recommend Maikhao Beach Recidence for anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday.

A really nice place close to the airport. And no, you did not hear the planes. A good place to stay one night or more at arrival/before departure. Nice pool, nice rooms (with a small kitchen if you need it) and a nice girl who spoke really good english in the reception. You get to a good restaurant and a really nice beach 3 minutes walk away. I got a full day here wich was a perfect and STRESSFREE end of my trip.

High price for taxi so close to the airport (10-15 minutes). Otherwise nothing.

Cannot rate this place highly enough! Gail on reception was the sweetest most helpful human ever. She booked my Koh Samui transfer for me and also sorted my breakfast in the mornings and brought it to my room. The room was really nice, HUGE! So much space, a massive bed and a lovely quaint balcony overlooking the mountains. You can borrow a bike free of charge which I did for the whole stay, it was really helpful for getting around. It’s really close to SOI Dog Foundation if you’re looking to go there, and so close to the beach where you can watch the planes land right over your head.

A lovely, calm place. The room was very spacious and clean. Very comfy bed and excellent wifi. I also liked the tiny balcony which was facing the pool but because of the lush vegetation between the pool and the building there’s ”privacy”. The pool was perfect for my 4-year-old daughter with shallow and deeper sections. I also appreciated the reception staff’s help with everything, e.g. ordering food.

There are not that many shops or services nearby, but food could be ordered, and one can take a tuk tuk or a taxi to go shopping elsewhere.

Calm environment, not far from Maikhao beach, friendly and considerate staff. They allowed us to check in even in early morning. Cozy place with good facilities e.g. swimming pool, gym room. The room itself is quite spacious. Beach mats are also available to borrow.

Someone burnt stuff in the wood nearby property during nighttime while we stayed. As a result of that, some bad smells leaked into the room. It’s not the property’s fault. I wish the local government would take the air quality issues seriously.
