Very good breakfasts and dinners served at the table. The staff asked if we wanted extra portions. Additional dishes available on the buffet during breakfasts. Free activities are available on site, such as a walk around the area, swimming in the river and feeding Wendy - the elephant, as well as an additional paid massage, kayaking, boat trip, etc. A very good place to relax from the hustle and bustle. There is no electricity, except for a place to top up phones, and that's an additional charm of this place. If you want to pack or find something in your luggage, do it during the day because there is little light after dark.

There were not enough sun loungers in front of some cottages. Sometimes it was annoying to share this place with other people, because when you want to swim, everyone goes to the end of the pier through all the houses to jump into the water to let themselves be carried away by the river. When you want to relax and someone shouts loudly it disturbs.

Very friendly staff, especially all the waiters/waitresses. All of them really sweet even. Lovely. Dinner was fantastic but too much: 5 dishes per person, 10 among two persons! (We really advise them to narrow it down because everything could have been shared with just 5 dishes total. We could not finish them all, so a lot of the food got wasted.) Really good place on the river / in the jungle even to wind down, especially after exhaustive traveling to this place. Overall nice experience. Upon check-out time, positively surprised about the free boat ride to our next hotel "HOME PHUTOEY" which turned out to be located just a few minutes away by boat. During planning and preparations for our trip, we weren't sure about how to get from one place to the other in this River Kwai area, as all transportations are really expensive. We really were cracking our brains about this, up until check-out time even! So yeah, super nice to be given free transfer from this hotel to the other. When we got to the "HOME PHUTOEY PIER", a hotel caddy was already there to drive us to the hotel lobby. I think staff from RIVER KWAI JUNGLE RAFTS informed them about our arrival beforehand. Yes, we knew beforehand that the only source of light would be kerosene oil lamps. It's mentioned extensively. BUT... the kerosene oil lamps are only placed outside the rooms. Inside the room was simply too dark after 6PM. 1 or 2 battery operated lamps would really make this experience way better, just for practical use like showering above the toilet with SOME light. Now, you have to literally TOUCH your way around the room in the evening. Also, the bed and duvet were damp from the humidity. Not so nice to climb into.

It is an extraordinary experience! The rooms are cool and in the night you feel floating on the river. During the day you can hang out on the river, it's beautifully decorated and the setting, alone in the nature/jungle is a one-time-in-life-experience. Absolute recommendation!

The river is really terribly dirty and we saw everything swimming in it, even a dead dog. So we were far from swimming there (what many people did). You have no light in the bathroom so showering and what else you have to do there is part of the adventure. Dinner was very good. Breakfast was not nice. But no reason to complain, the whole experience was absolutely worth it and we would do it again. However: one day is enough!

This is a resort floating on the river surrounded by a peaceful jungle and served by Mon tribal staff. Please keep in mind that this resort is suitable for people who would like to escape from a chaotic city because there is no electricity or Wifi, but the telephone signal / the 3G internet is still available but rather weak which is acceptable in the middle of the jungle. It is reachable by hourly transfer boats at Phutakian pier (for a 20-minute ride). You will receive the necessary information after reservation. The staff are Mon tribe locals but very well-trained to professionally serve you. The dinner and breakfast are very delicious and served like you are in a 4-star hotel. There are necessary amenities provided in the room like a shower, toilet, napkins, towels, shower gel, and shampoo. The resort provides battery lamps in each room and gas lamps in the corridor. The bed is unbelievably comfy. There are lots of activities which you can enjoy throughout your stay with and without extra charges. The free activities you can do are swimming in front of your room, an elephant feeding every morning (around 7:30 am daily), and visiting Mon village at the back of the resort with a local tour guide (at 8:30 am daily, you can give him a tip as you wish). We recommend visiting the village so you will learn Mon's tradition and also help support locals. Another tip, if you wish to see a traditional Mon dance show (for 100 baht/person), it is better to reserve Saturday night.

You may struggle with the weak signal Internet and stay in a resort without electricity. Please make sure to keep your phone and devices fully charged and bring along a spared power supply.

The staff and so welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. We were late arriving by train but they arranged transport to take us to the pier. Amazing location right on the river and incredible views of the jungle. We fed the elephant each morning, visited caves and waterfalls. Jumped in the river and floated down. It’s a great way to cut off from the modern world. The resort make it really clear that’s is eco friendly with no electricity. Not sure why some people complain about the lack of Aircon and being too hot at night. It’s a small price to pay for staying in such an amazing location

The River Kwai Jungle Rafts are one of the most unique experiences. The location in the jungle on the river is fantastic. The lack of electricity, wifi and phone reception provides an opportunity to unplug from the modern world. My kids loved putting on life jackets, jumping in the river and floating down the length of the hotel, the river runs surprisingly fast. I highly recommend SUP or canoeing on the river too. Dinner by lamp light is very romantic, and lying on the loungers looking at the stars and listening to the jungle noises is the perfect way to end the day. I highly recommend seeing the Mon traditional dancing and visiting the Mon village (5 minute walk from the Rafts.

We only had a 2 night stay, I wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful place! Totally recommend for 1 day, full of fun, river swimming, good food, good service, small show in the evening, but the best was to have breakfast with Wendy... the elephant:-)

Well, no electricity, but we knew that in advance. Back to basic... but in a charming way. (They have a loading station for your phone) We advise you to book the pick up from Bangkok in advance. Otherwise, you pay much more.

River Kwai Jungle Rafts is absolutely magical. There are so many great things to say! You'll feel like you have instant community when you get to know the Mon staff or go have a drink at the bar with other visitors. Grab a life jacket and float from one end of the rafts to the other, letting the current carry you down the river. Feed the pet elephant in the morning! Watch the Mon dance performance at the little theater in the evening. Go to Erawan Waterfall during the day to feel like you are inside Avatar! Unplug without any electricity in your room (you can get it and WiFi in the common areas so it's no problem) We really really loved the staff. PAT was especially amazing to us. He inspired us as a wonderful, talented, kind human being and incredible dancer. We loved meeting you, Pat!

Beautiful location and views- an excellent escape. The staff are fabulous and we loved watching the Mon dance performance and having a tour of the mon village. We loved how passionate the staff are about preserving their culture. The boat trips to and from the pier were beautiful, and the river swimming was so fun! In the morning, relaxing on the balcony watching the misty river and the monkeys in the trees across the water was a highlight. Feeding the village elephant in the morning was also a nice start to the day. It was easy to organise tours- we visited hellfire pass and Erawan falls. It was also easy to organise onwards transportation. In the evening the set menu dinner was delicious and plentiful, with the gas lamps and sounds of the river making for an atmospheric meal. While the rooms are quite dark and fairly basic, it really helps to encourage you to enjoy the day and sleep calmly in the evening. There was a wide variety of guests: families, couples, groups, solo travellers and of all ages. I would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful trip away.

fabulous hotel in a wonderful jungle type environment based on the river Kwai close to a Mon village settlement . rooms are bamboo themed huts with a hammock and sun lounger right outside your front door which faces on to the river & a balcony at the back which faces towards the mon village ... the room was a decent size and was clean and comfortable dinner & breakfast was included in the price both were well prepared and served , with good eating options for both breakfast and dinner also they provide after dinner entertainment for a separate charge i reallly enjoyed my stay here and would stay here again
