We had a wonderful stay at Avilla Cave Hotel, thanks to the exceptional hospitality of the owner, Metin. He went above and beyond to ensure our visit was memorable, even arranging a last-minute balloon ride in the stunning Ihlara Valley after our Cappadocia rides were canceled three days in a row. The location of the hotel is perfect—just a short 10-minute walk to shopping and restaurants, and right by a scenic lookout area where you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets and sunrises. The Turkish breakfast was a feast, offering a wide variety of delicious options, and Metin’s wife kindly prepared vegetarian soups and vegetable puffs to cater to our dietary preferences. The thoughtfulness extended to allowing us a late checkout when we returned later than expected and letting us relax in the cozy reception area until our evening airport taxi arrived. Metin’s warm hospitality made our experience unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

An excellently located hotel. Mr Mertin & his staff were fabulous. The room was an authentic cave room, with a magnificent bathroom. The breakfast was the best I had in Turkey, a lovely, different variety each day, bless the hands that made the meal! The location was top tier with breathtaking views off the Hot Air balloons & a stones throw away from the heart of the fantasy town of Gerome. Everything was perfect. Mr Mertin & staff can also organise transfers to & from the airport. The shared transfers work out even cheaper at around 250 lira per person. They helped us with a lot of extra things, fabulous staff.

Avilla Cave Hotel was perfect for our 4 night stay. Our room had a large terrace where we could sit and enjoy the beautiful view. Metin was very helpful and welcoming, as was his wife Mora. He was able to book a balloon ride for my mother at a good price and give us lots of information on the surrounding area. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices each morning. The location of the hotel was great. Just inside the sunset ticket booth was we could walk up to the lookout without the extra cost, but still close to the centre of town so it was a convenient 5 minute walk to all the restaurants. Our room was large and nicely furnished and the beds were comfortable. Overall a highly recommended family run place to stay.

Avilla Cave Hotel was centrally located and was close to the touristic areas of Goreme. The cave rooms were great. The rooms were spacious, clean and had all the needed amenities. Our room had a balcony which had the best views of Goreme. The daily breakfast was also great. Metin and Moya were great hosts. They were very helpful all throughout our stay. They helped us book the tours and activities and always made sure we get the best prizes. They even bought a cake to celebrate the birthday of one of our group members. They made us feel at home even for just a few days. Thank you Metin and Moya! We highly recommend Avilla Cave Hotel when staying in Goreme.

Absolutely loved our stay at Avilla Cave Hotel and in Cappadocia - what a beautiful place. Metin was the kindest and most helpful host we’ve ever experienced - he helped us organise day excursions, activities and transfers so easily. His wife made the most delicious breakfast with so many yummy options. The room itself was spacious and had everything we needed. The location of the hotel was perfect, it had a great view over the town, was only a short walk down the hill to the main centre and was right at the bottom of the famous Sunrise and Sunset view point that you could access for free by being a guest of the hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel, we will definitely be back.

The room was just like the photos with a huge bathroom. We had plenty of space.

The room was a bit dark. Also, other guests were quite loud late at night and early in the morning (when going for balloon rides). Obviously, that is not the place's fault, but our room was right where everyone meets so if you need quiet, you should pick a different room. We also had some trouble communicating. We had sent several inquiries about booking a balloon ride and a tour that went unanswered. Once we arrived, however, the proprietor was delightful and very helpful. People who are not fit will either want to stay lower down or use taxis. It's a pretty big climb, but to us it was worth it.

The surreal landscapes, with fairy chimneys and cave dwellings, were even more magical in person, and exploring this unique region felt like stepping into another world. The sunrise hot air balloon ride and visiting ancient underground cities were experiences we’ll treasure forever. A huge thank you to our host Metin, whose hospitality made all the difference. Metin provided me us with fantastic recommendations (hot air balloon and green tour) that led us to some of the region’s hidden gems, and their attention to detail ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. From organizing seamless excursions to making sure we felt very welcomed and at home, they went above and beyond in every way. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay, and I’m already looking forward to returning to Cappadocia someday. Highly recommended!

Our stay at Avilla hotel was the best hotel experience I’ve had in a long time - perhaps ever. The host family is so incredibly kind and goes above and beyond to book activities for your group. In addition to organizing, they made the most deliscious Turkish breakfast for us every morning. They were incredibly kind. The hotel is in a perfect location and has the best views of the hot air balloons. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Everything was perfect except the wifi - it didn’t work for us.

The owner/manager, Metin, is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. He helped us with balloon ride bookings at a competitive price. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The cave rooms are so unique and Metin let us choose the room we liked the best. The views from the various balconies are incredible. The location is ideal. Driving in town can be difficult but Metin made sure we had a parking spot right outside the hotel.

This is NOT a negative point about the hotel, but our balloon flights were cancelled three mornings in a row due to weather. Metin did everything possible to reschedule us each time. FYI- When they cancel flights they cancel ALL flights for ALL tour agencies. Rebooking the next morning is not always possible and often entails a doubling of the price. I mention this so people will be inclined to stay more days than they think they may need if the hot air balloon ride is a priority. We stayed 4 nights and never even saw a balloon in the air. We wish we stayed longer for another chance at a flight and more time at the hotel.
