Where to start... an exceptional stay at the Buhara Family INN hotel. Proximity is one of the main assets of this friendly, family-run hotel, you will be just a few minutes' walk from the main tourist attractions in Istanbul. The staff are very friendly, accommodating and welcoming. They also agreed to make a lovely surprise for my mum at my request when we arrived. The hotel's cleanliness is beyond reproach: the rooms are cleaned every day, not forgetting the towels and cups, which are changed every morning. The hotel terrace offers an incredible view of the Marmara Sea and the Blue Mosque for lunch. Breakfast is very good, copious and varied. You won't need to eat lunch after :). The hotel also offers good prices for booking a nice private shuttle to the airport (IST or SAW). I highly recommend this hotel, so don't hesitate!

Everything was good

A fantastic budget hotel in the perfect location for the big tourist sites. My room was plain, clean, with a small bathroom with good water pressure and water that quickly becomes hot. The breakfast buffet was the best breakfast provided in a hotel I had anywhere in Turkey! So delicious and fresh. And on their beautiful rooftop terrace with views to the sea and the blue mosque. Great value for money.

The stairs are quite precarious and narrow, and no banisters. Fine for me, but would not suit someone with mobility issues. You need to be able to carry your own bag up these stairs.

Very nice hotel for this price. Especially I loved the view from the terrace - having a breakfast there is one of the most fascinating moments of my job trip. Staff is very kind. Breakfast is very simple, but once again - for this price it's absolutely normal. Very good hotel. I hope they will grow better. By the way - the location is great! Absolutely in the center of all historical places, but not on the loud street. Thank you guys!

Though very modest, the hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff are super friendly and helpful. You can't beat the location. It's a five minute walk from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and that whole tourist area but quiet in the immediate neighborhood. I especially loved the breakfasts on the terrace overlooking the Bosphorous.

My room was tiny.

Friendly staff, incredible view from the breakfast patio area. Lovely breakfast with fresh pressed pomegranate juice. I stayed in room 16- I appreciated having a private bathroom, a view of the blue mosque if I tipped my head out the window, and the full use of the patio which was across the hall from my room. Excellent location, I walked everywhere except Galata tower!

I reserved a sea view room but didn’t get one, when I asked they showed me an option with a sea view but it didn’t have a private bathroom. It ended up being fine- I ended up loving my room. Lots of stairs! Pipes are a bit noisy.

Staff is very welcoming, nice, reactive and helpful. Location is great, nearby the touristic sites (blue mosque etc). Neighbourhood is quiet (more at night). Breakfast is great and varied. Terrace view is amazing.

No major issues, but: Most staff don't speak English (we used Google Translate). No elevator (I was on the third floor - I believe it's the last one before the terrace - unsure whether there are more floors on the other side). If you are planning on sleeping late and you have a light sleep: the room I stayed in has a wood door that is not well sounded and I could easily hear what is happening in the corridors/stairs etc. I believe the same goes for the other rooms.

My first stay at Hotel Bukhara family in was in 2013 with my friends and after when I’m in Istanbul I always stay in this beautiful cozy hotel. Highly recommend this hotel because it’s is very near 3-4 min (if you don’t stop at Arasta bazaars every shops 😂) to hagia Sophia and blue mosque-Sultanahmed it’s family friendly and for friends great place to stay. Very tasty breakfast on rooftop with beautiful views. Enjoy my friends and trust me 😍

The hotel was vet nice, about a 10 minute walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Sultanahmet tram. The breakfasts were delightful. Most of all, Aslan was a very pleasant and helpful young man.

My main issue was the lack of a elevator. I’m currently a bit mobility impaired as I’m still healing from surgery. I wasn’t aware of this until a few days before I was to leave and decided I could handle it, which I did. The problem with the stairs is that they’re “curvy,” meaning narrow towards the inside, wider on the outer part. And there’s no rail. If don’t have physical issues, it’s fine. If you do have some issues it’s not so fine. Breakfast is served on the terrace, which is on the 4th floor.

The breakfast and rooftop terrace were absolute highlights - just amazing. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (I was given free bottled water when I asked about the potability of the tap water). Good location near to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Topkapi Palace, as well as many restaurants.

Room was very small and very basic (mind you, this is what I paid for). No elevator, and taking your luggage up the narrow and winding staircase is an accident waiting to happen. While a good location for visiting the main sights, a little out of the way for everything else, and difficult to get to by public transportation (nearest tram stop is 15-20 minutes away).

Good location, about 10 min or less walking distance from the Blue Mosque and the nearest tram station. Cozy room, clean, great value for money and a great terrace view for the breakfast or late night beer.

Host can have a better deal with taxi drivers. For instance, I was offered a pickup from Istanbul (IST) airport for 850 lira whilst on arrival Uber showed the cost to be 600 lira. The same while returning from SAW airport, I paid 700 lira incl. tolls to the driver arranged by the hotel receptionist whilst Uber at that time showed a range of 460 - 550 lira.
