We loved our stay here! Firstly there's a beautiful friendly hotel cat called Boss who comes to visit guests 😄 Sükrü was a fantastic host. He helped us book a good value balloon ride for the next day and the balloon pilot was so good. He also took an interest in our plans every morning and helped us with directions and suggestions. He even helped us to get a local bus to Derinkuyu underground city instead of the expensive taxi we had planned. The lady who cooks breakfast was so lovely everyday and really spoilt us with her amazing cooking. Make sure you're hungry because it's all so delicious. The location was really good for us, it's only a few mins walk to the center of Göreme but the road itself is nice and quiet. We stayed in the double cave room and loved it. It was so cozy and authentic feeling, and if you like a dark room to sleep in this is the place for you! There is also a roof terrace that is perfect for watching the hot air balloons at sunrise.

The hotel was located very close to the town. So it was easy and accessible to explore the town of gorem. Secondly, the staff were extremely friendly, supportive and welcoming, especially the manager sekuru, he helped us right through from the beginning with the booking of the hotel, transfers to the airport and all the activities that we planned to do in Cappadocia. And he gave us some really good guidance on the dos and donts. And last but not the least, the breakfast was exceptional, truly an amazing spread of a typical turkish breakfast. Highly recommend!! Truly the best value for money!

There was nothing we didn't like.

I visited goreme on the first week of November for three nights with my family, the property was a little gem, very close to the city center and offering a stunning view of the balloons! The room was a lovely duplex with a very cute traditional decoration, the breakfast very delicious and fulfilling. The cherry on top was the manager sukru who arranged all of our activities: balloon ride, green tour, horse ride and shuttles for airport, which all turned out to be successful. Thank you sukru for everything 🙏🏻 and we’ll definitely come back if we ever visit goreme again 🎈

Everything was perfect

We had a very good time staying at the Avlu cave house. The location is fantastic (5 min walk from the main road with all the restaurants and shops) so close enough to walk there, but far enough to avoid the traffic and noise. The room wasn’t big, but def enough to suit our needs, and the beds were very comfortable, and every morning there was a delicious homemade buffet style breakfast for all the guests. More importantly than the house itself was how we were treated by the owners. Above and beyond would be an understatement. They helped us set up all our tours and activities, which they paid for in order to get us booked until I could go to an ATM to reimburse them. And they went out of their way to get a cake so I could surprise my girlfriend on her birthday. The owners of the cave house are amazing people.

It’s hard to find anything not to like. The whole stay was magical and full of positives.

We had such an incredible time at Avlu Cave House. Şükrü was so kind and accommodating; he is so knowledgeable about the area, and was a great help in organising lots of fun activities for our stay. Our room had a balcony, and it was magical waking up each morning to the hot air balloons. Avlu Cave House has an incredible view for sunrises and sunsets, which were spectacular. The breakfast buffet is also delicious, with a big assortment of choices. You can feel that there's a lot of love that goes into making Avlu Cave House the place it is - we will be back, and would recommend it to anyone staying in Goreme!

Delicious Buffet Breakfast: Each morning, we were treated to a delicious buffet breakfast that got every morning off to a great start. Flexibility and Hospitality: When our hot air balloon ride extended longer than expected, the staff graciously kept breakfast open for us, demonstrating exceptional flexibility and hospitality. Attentive and Friendly Owner and Staff: What truly made our stay memorable was the attentive and friendly owner. Always ready to assist with a smile, he went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction, as did the night manager. In summary, Avlu Cave Hotel is a hidden gem in Cappadocia. With its charming decor, great breakfast, and exceptional service from the owner and all the staff, it offers a truly delightful experience for anyone seeking a cozy retreat amidst the wonders of this beautiful region.

Firstly I would like to thank Tarik and Sukrij (Nephew and Uncle) for all the help they gave us. They went out of their way to help with "OPTIONS" for activities, that we could either accept or go elsewhere. We did not find them pushy at all and to be honest, even when we did enquire at other places, they were either the same price or more expensive. Good breakfast selection and eat as much as you like. Our room number 1 was nice (same as the photos) and quiet with the cave room experience and views of the mountains. The terrace was good if you wanted to get up early and see the balloons pass by. We did the balloon ride which was fantastic and not to be missed. We also hiked in the valleys away from the regular trips and found it a great experience, but the trips that the guys sorted where quality. We did the balloons, red tour or green tour (day long), castle, love valley, pigeon valley, red/rose trek, underground city, creator lake, quad bikes at sunset. We made a couple of Turkish lamps when we wanted a more chilled day and that was great from a guy called Emir. Small enough to take home and a good experience making them. The guys can sort that out for you as it's opposite the mosque and you can learn how to make the Turkish coffee also. The food at Seiten and Top deck restaurants was a reasonable price and really top class, so would recommend. Would certainly recommend the hotel and the place to friends.

To be honest I would be doing the place (Goreme) a disservice as we really enjoyed the stay. Maybe being approached and beckoned into the shops, but you can always say no.

The location is great. Very close to the Goreme strip and walkable to most areas. Sukru and the staff were polite, helpful, attentive and warm. They went above and beyond to help us feel welcome and to help us plan our excursions to optimize the price and experience. Any excursion I planned without Sukru's help was more expensive than what he could've arranged. The breakfast they offered was superb and the view from the terrace was more than worth the price of our stay. If I'm ever back in Cappadocia, I will be staying at Avlu Cave House without a doubt!!

This is a review for a 4 night stay at Avlu Cave House in the town of Göreme, whose location was exceptional. It was within walking distance to some great restaurants and cafes and it felt especially safe, as we are two female travellers. We needed to exchange money to Turkish Lira and it was only a few minutes on foot to the closest post office. Bim, a small local supermarket was also within reach. We appreciate such amenities and services that are within walking distance, thus making Avlu the perfect choice. One huge stand out was the top notch level of service provided by the owner, Șükrü. Not only is he friendly, he goes above and beyond to answer any queries you have. Every person he has directed us to for further assistance were extremely friendly and helpful. We also an afternoon flight on the day of check out and he was very happy to store our luggage in a safe space while we waited on the rooftop terrace for our airport transfer. Breakfast was basic yet sufficient and it was something we looked forward to every morning. The gözleme and the sun-dried tomato paste were a great combo! Our twin room was on the smaller side however it was manageable and the beds were extremely comfortable. It is definitely value for money and provided everything we needed for a great stay. We always looked forward to coming home after a long day. The rooftop terrace is a huge plus for this accommodation. It provided stunning views of the hot air balloons every morning and is also a great space to unwind and soak in the environment you’re in. I cannot recommend this stay enough! The level of service and hospitality was outstanding and has contributed to the amazing time my friend and I have had here in Cappadocia 😀

The experience of living in the cave room was unique. Our room had two levels and was very charming. The host was wonderful. He meticulously organised the hot air balloon, Red & Green tours, and airpport transfers with the best service providers. He also kindly offered to drive me to watch a Whirling Dervish ceremony I wanted to experience. The hospitality was supreme. Loved savouring the traditional Turkish homemade breakfast. And I'm already missing having Chai (Turkish tea) on the terrace watching the balloons every morning. Highly recommend.
