The property is located in a beautiful spot with a nice view onto the water. It is situated close to the town by driving and 25 mins by walking. The street is lined with stunning banyan trees and right next door is an incredible park. Our room was very spacious and nice. The lobby is beautiful. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of free parking available.

They offered a “continental breakfast” included in our stay. That was the only thing I have to say was not satisfying. What they did offer was tasty but really not breakfast… some of the other guests were very noisy but that wasn’t really the hotel’s fault.

Breakfast was good. Also $10 off in place of continental breakfast was great. Dinner buffet was awesome. Great location. Bed was very comfortable.

Front desk said we couldn’t do a pre-check-in till 12pm, but I noticed others were doing it. Front desk forgot to call us when our room was ready and we were tired and waiting in our car rental in the parking lot. Front desk was not knowledgeable to provide info when asked such as; do you have live entertainment, what’s the hours of your restaurant, can I grab a cup of coffee from the continental breakfast while I’m waiting to check-in. Their response to this was, “I don’t know”.

We absolutely loved the view of Hilo Bay and Coconut Island from the balcony, where we often sat after busy days as tourists. The room was very large and quiet. The dated furniture and decor didn't bother us, and the bed was plenty big. The price was much lower than hotels on the Kona side of the island. We received coupons for free continental breakfasts, so we tried paper cups of oatmeal and a piece of fruit with juice a couple of times.

We had to request a new shower curtain since the first one didn't fit the shower AT ALL. The bathroom sink didn't drain properly. The pillows were hard slabs. The drinking water dispenser was five floors below us and OUTSIDE, so no visits there in our robes and slippers. And the person who checked us in was rather patronizing, as if all seniors were demented until proven otherwise. We tried the avocado toast and grilled cheese sandwiches for breakfast in the restaurant, but the bread was cheap and tasteless. Yet none of these negatives were crucial, and we enjoyed our stay. (My husband stuffed his fluffy jacket into a pillowcase and loved the outcome, which he will repeat whenever he doesn't like a hotel pillow in the future.)

Our room has beautiful ocean front view. Free parking is possible on site. It is a quiet location for a good rest

The oceanfront room that we had was 206 disappointed with the ocean view there was a big tree in front thus limiting the beautiful ocean views the ice machine is located above the elevator on the 6th floor our room is located behind the reservation desk which you would have to walk upstairs and down the hallway to get to that room I’ve been there before and had oceanfront room above the elevators which gives you a great view of the ocean the next time I will be asking for oceanfront rooms above the 5th floor on the swimming pool side of the building other than that I still like staying here and will return again

Location is excellent and we loved the view of Hilo Bay. Great area to walk out to Coconut Island and see the botanical garden. Short drive to several nice beaches and downtown. Downtown is very charming. Good value . We made request in advance for king bed and were accommodated, thank you!

Room service could be improved. They told us up front they were short staffed and we would get every other day service. Exchange of towels was available every day if we wanted. The last day of room service we did not get complete set of towels and no refill of coffee supplies for in-room. Would strongly recommend a coffee service in lobby for guests. Would be nice to enjoy a cup of coffee in beautiful lobby and look at view of Hilo Bay.

Friendly staff, welcome drink. Very convenient location as a starting point for organised trips in Hilo, it's also relatively close to the Hilo airport (although not exactly walking distance). Breakfast is very simple, but it's better than nothing.

No utensils in the room (such as a spoon, a fork or a bottle opener). If you want to grab something from a nearby convenience store, it may be a good idea to bring with you the disposable utensils which are distributed during breakfast. The bathroom curtains could be one inch longer - even that much would greatly help not to spill water all over the floor while taking a shower.

The VIEW- Fantastic!! A great location that was walkable to Coconut Island which has a few tiny beaches, turtle watching, and the super fun jumping rock. Also walkable to the large beach where you can watch the row clubs do their thing. The restaurant downstairs had very good food and is open late which is a bonus as Hilo closes up pretty early. Wait staff in the restaurant was great! Super efficient and so friendly!

The facility is a bit tired. Nothing major but could use a spruce up. The room was very clean but did lack that luxury hotel feel that I always love. The hotel next door has been abandoned and is in rough shape. Kind of spooky. Our check-in process was less than ideal. The woman checking us in was seriously grumpy. Didn’t say much and never smiled… not once. We didn’t feel very welcome upon arriving. The continental breakfast offered is not great- Luckily the restaurant serves a very good breakfast!

Daily Continental breakfast was more then adequate. View from the room great. Overall performance of staff above average.

The curb at your entry is much to high for elderly people. We are both 78 and each had a near fall. We became aware of a ramp on the west end.of the entry curb. Don't wait for a law suit before you remedy the situation. Otherwise, we enjoyed our visit. This information was intended for Hotel administration.
