Off the beaten track, lovely, and cosy. Food is really good and they have a great selection of drinks. The wifi was good and is essential. The rooms are modern and well furnished. Check in/out process was easy and straight forward.
Breakfast options. I got the impression that they don't like making anything other than a full English and is an inconvenience. The matress in our room was particularly uncomfortable. Some staff were very impersonal on this visit, on previous stays we were made to feel welcome. This time was very transactional.

The Blue Boar was a typical Country Pub with the atmosphere and character to match, with an intriguing viewing window of a fresh water Well on the floor of the Bar. The staff were friendly and attentive which matched the food and the surroundings. The room was smart, clean and very comfortable and the breakfast was freshly cooked and the choice was better than most.
No real issues, although our room (as comfortable as it was) was situated next to the main road which did create something of a noise issue, particularly in the morning as it got busier, although this did not affect the overall enjoyment of the stay.

The room was very comfortable and spacious with everything we needed for an overnight stay. Even though it was above the main door of the pub, it was quiet. The food, both at dinner and breakfast, was excellent: good quality, well presented and tasty. We were not expecting the range of Indian dishes on the menu and both really enjoyed our curries which were delicious and really nicely presented with a touch of theatre. Best of all, though, are the staff who were friendly, helpful and engaging. We would not hesitate to book there again.
Very minor points: the room was rather light due to lighting which stayed on all night in the car park and there were rather flimsy plastic cups rather than proper glasses. Breakfast was slightly muddled so we waited a while for our order to be taken while other guests who arrived after us were served first. Nothing which adversely affected our views, though.

The value for money was excellent, the room, the staff, the food and the warmth of the feel of the site were lovely. The room was very cosy and set out with premium fixtures which made it felt homely but then going down for dinner you're met with an A La Carte, Pub Classics, Indian and a full dessert menu not a boil in the bag cheap pub meal. The food was amazing, I went for an A La Carte starter and a Pub Classic main course both well priced and cooked lovely and fresh to order and delivered to the table by a very friendly and helpful lady. Breakfast was no different all included in the room rate, an amazing freshly cooked breakfast with premium products such as a local sourced butchers sausage which made a nice difference to supermarket cheap frozen sausage you see in many hotels and nice streaky bacon also. The staff were very informative and helpful and couldn't do anything more to make you feel welcome.
Absolutely nothing, keep doing what you're doing I can't wait to come back for a weekend stay with my family.

Lovely clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast and dinner were lovely. Most of the staff were very friendly and it was nice to see that the staff in the bar were always cleaning when they weren't serving customers.
A couple of the restaurant staff were a bit on the surly side and we felt we were putting them out by ordering from them. A group of guests from Wales were obviously drinking to excess and were very loud in the outdoor seating during the afternoon and some of their language was appalling and carried to the rooms upstairs. It would have been very concerning if we had had children with us. After midnight, after the bar had closed, two of these guests then had an argument outside my friend's room waking her up, which then continued into their room after the door had been slammed. Whilst it must be difficult to deal with customers drinking to excess, a reminder that there are other people staying wouldn't have come amiss.

Spacious , clean bedroom ( no5). Comfy bed and modern bathroom. Nice shower , not great pressure but to be expected in an old building. Coffee making facilities & complimentary water replenished each day. Staff were really friendly & professional. Free car parking., lovely location in walking distance of Alcester. Really good evening meals… worth a visit just for the food. We had a fab 2 night stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future.
Steep narrow stairs to bedrooms, that may be an issue to clients with mobility issues, but are part of the character of the building. Stair carpet had several marks but maybe pale grey carpet isn’t ideal for hotel stair carpets next time when replaced . And maybe the gentleman cleaner could be mindful of the noise of hoovering when he chooses to hoover round the dining area while guests were still finishing off their breakfasts.

Beautiful building especially the flowers. Stunning. Food was very good. Staff friendly. Bedroom and bathroom lovely.
Unfortunately, there was no air con or fan in our room in the incredibly hot week we've just had. The duvet was very heavy and impossible to sleep under. The open window was above air con units which switched on and off all night. Staff stood outside what we presumed to be the kitchen chatting loudly at about 11.45. some guests decided to go out of the fire escape door near our room and stood laughing and talking loudly then made an awful racket coming back upstairs. After an awful night's sleep, we left early and didn't even have breakfast. Such a shame because the place is so lovely.

The staff were very friendly and the location was easy to find. I checked in a few hours early which was very convenient for me. The room was tidy and cleaned shortly after arriving. Toiletries and towels were provided. Small selection for breakfast which was nice. My room had no side windows but there were two large skylights which were lovely. The room was very spacious and was able to fully open the skylights which kept the room cool.
There was only one member of staff in the morning, which meant waiting around to get breakfast/checking out. WIFI in the room didn't work which also meant the TV wasn't operational, wasn't a problem for me and I'm sure the staff would have looked into it if requested, but something that I'd expect to be working on arrival. It is an old building so there is noise leak from the road and downstairs pub/restaurant and corridors/stairs are narrow. The mattress was firm but sleepable.

The warm welcome, the excellent room, spotlessly clean with quality furnishings, extremely comfortable double bed, bathroom, electrics, facilities. All perfect. I have often paid twice as much to stay in a hotel half as luxurious. The menu for dinner was varied and top quality. The owner kindly gave a me a complimentary glass of port at the end of the evening - most unexpected. Breakfast was perfect with extremely friendly and attentive service. The ambiance and furnishings in the restaurant and breakfast room are excellent,
I can't think of anything.

Helpful, friendly staff; exceptionally clean and comfortable room; very nice toiletries. Dinner is much, much better in terms of quality and presentation than the menu would suggest. I nearly went elsewhere for dinner but I'm very glad I didn't: 'fish and chips' turned out to be delicious thick cut chips and perfectly grilled sea bass. The affogato was a large 'marble' of vanilla ice cream in an expresso - far superior, in my opinion to a bowl of ice cream with some coffee sloshed over. Well done to the chef.
Lovely bathroom but the shower floor is very slippery and there are no grab rails. This needs urgent attention before someone has a bad fall.
