I treated me and my wife to a larger sized room and was very glad that I did - the room was better than what I was expecting. However, the best part of my stay was totally the breakfast - although it looked like your normal run-of-the-mill buffet-style, the food itself was a lot tastier than other places I have been to. I just wished I had the capacity to have eaten more!

The only gripe that I would have is that I would have preferred for the shower/bath to have had a larger grippable surface area. Whilst showering, I ventured a tiny bit too far from the spot and found just how slippery that bath actually is. However, this did not detract in any way my enjoyment of the stay and is only mentioned as a caution for any readers who may move around in the shower like me!!

Convenient location for my stay near family. Large and spacious room. Comfortable bed.

No printed hotel information (about meal times, hotel facilities, room service etc) available in the room. This had to be accessed via a QR code with your phone. Plenty of people of my generation don't use QR codes. Thought the information would be on the hotel TV channel but it wasn't there either. Also fire regs notice on the back of the bedroom door was too high up to see and the room light reflected off the plastic notice cover which didn't improve matters.

The staff were friendly and extremely helpful disabled parking easy to access and free and the staff assigned a room that was relatively close to everything which was kind and again helpful - the room large and equipped the bed extremely comfortable and the pillows too were really good. Lovely sleep. The seats were comfortable too so did not have to sit in bed watching TV able to sit and then go to bed as would at home. Tea and coffee facilities were good. Our tv wasn't working initially the staff member I went to get was really helpful finding a solution for us even though was not normally her job to do so. We were very grateful. The food from the bar was delicious and brought in a timely way. Everyone was helpful and courteous. Our trip to London was a bit of a disaster for other reasons and this booking was a last minute one but very glad we tried it as will make sure if needed we will use this hotel again.

The telephones don t seem to be answered ringing and going straight to engaged after a certain amount of rings this happened every time (and when went down was no queues) - QR code link for room service orders did not go through also necessitated ordering in person. (On sticks /disabled not ideal) but staff helpful then.

It’s in a brilliant location, it’s warm and comfortable. Close to lots of amenities

Staff in the bar seemed inexperienced which is a shame as the food is of a good quality. It was unclear as to whether staff served at the table as they came to some tables and ignored others. Eventually I gave up and went to the bar and I felt totally invisible as I stood there for a minute or two before one of the 3 staff behind the bar asked me if I wanted serving. We had to asked staff to clear our used plates after 20 minutes of them being sat on our table. Basically they seemed clueless or lacking in training.

First time stay very impressed hotel excellent spotless staff very friendly and welcoming room was clean and comfortable only one thing that was awkward disable parking as we are new to this horrible thing after working 40 years straight called disability due to illness wife suffers severe osteoporosis can drop her at reception and go on to car park adjacent but as I have problems walking far due to shortness of breath due to two episodes of sepsis and damage to kidneys and lungs heart we never ever thought about disability throughout our active working life that it could happen to us and the problem it has caused us when travelling and especially parking if you drive its a bit of a walk from car park to hotel reception especially when you walk route and get to back door reception entrance and sign saying sorry this door is not working and have to walk all the way back and I mean all the way back especially with flight of stairs this to me was serious especially if you are more disabled than I am ie in a wheelchair it would of been hell. At front of hotel there are 7 car spaces but only 3 for disabled I think all seven should be for disabled parking and healthy people should be doing the car park walk.

Only parking as worded above.

Staff were brilliant, especially Anna (restaurant) for sorting a complimentary breakfast as we had no housekeeping which meant no replenishment of tea/coffee in the room, as well as not having the bedding changed. It wasn't a massive issue but if we'd have known we could have asked for housekeeping instead of returning to our room and finding it as we left it! That aside, this hotel was superb and I'd highly recommend it.

Not being told about housekeeping only if requested

Nice Hotel, comfortable for our family. We had 2 rooms both rooms did the job. Breakfast was tasty plenty of variety. Was very happy that Christmas day there was full services as a nearby restaurant let us down and the Hotel restaurant came to the rescue serving us a lovely dinner.

Rooms a little dated a few broken bits like the wardrobe door in both rooms. Showers not great.

Very well priced for what you get. The massive excec room or whatever it was. The one with a four poster and sofa bed. Was only a few pounds more than the room with two doubles. Bathroom with bath and separate shower was very nice. Air con good. Windows open all the way. That doesn’t happen often. Very nice. Staff friendly and helpful. Even when obviously under pressure from more demanding customers.

Having to pay for parking is a rip. Not cool!

Upon check-in we met Claire, who was smart, professional and welcoming. Because it was Christmas Day, we waived the additional car park change. She said it a gift for us and it was a delightful touch. Only stayed for one night, Christmas Day, leaving on Boxing Day morning, so difficult to judge fully. But the room was spacious and the bathroom and shower clean with more than enough shampoo, etc.

The room was very warm when we returned in the evening and we tried to adjust the air-con but noting seemed to work. We ended up shutting it off and opening a window.
