A charming traditional country pub. Well located on the A37 just north of Shepton Mallet. Huge car park. Lovely atmosphere when you enter the pub. Great staff who are most helpful. Pretty, cosy room. Clean bathroom and comfy bed. They provide huge bathtowels which is a bonus these days. Another bonus is the fruit bowl that is in the room together with bottled water and a pot of self make porridge for breakfast. The shower is brilliant.
All great

I had a complimentary continental breakfast which was excellent I left very early for work. I booked the room at fairly short notice & it was described as being a small single named the rabbit hutch! The room had a comfortable & spacious 3/4 bed & was much roomier than expected... the bathroom was very clean & very nicely decorated. I had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant downstairs & slept well. Also, all this for a very reasonable price!
The only downside was the main road which was fairly busy all night, but the location also made it very easy to find & with plenty of parking.

I did not expect breakfast but actually there was a bowl of fruit Alpen bars and instant porridge supplied. Plenty to start the day. Good supply of toiletries. Hot water good shower. Not a poky room and very nice sheets on the bed. A very comfortable stay.
It was a little strange that I only met one person as I arrived, thereafter no one was around. I had to leave the key on the bar at 9am. There was quite a lot of traffic noise as its on a busy road, but with my hearing aid removed not disturbing!!

Nice room clean ,warm, nice decor.staff very good, nice bar and restaurant downstairs..not far to wells and frome
Room not managed that well, breakfast bag although not stated ..second day croissant missing not the healthiest bag.,would have expected room service to check room for minimal attention re stock coffee and tea and towels etc.Extract fan from kitchen bit noisy resonating in room until about 10pm.On leaving at 8am downstairs deserted left keys on bar? Overall value for money could do with a few tweeks

Nice atmosphere, very clean! Friendly staff that made us feel welcome. Spacious bedroom, comfortable bed, refreshments I.e bottled water, orange juice, porridge pots, apples etc really nice touch. Food was excellent. Nice shower, with variety of toiletries - fluffy white bath and hand towels
Noise of the traffic - Inn on the main road so cannot be helped. It would also be good to have lights/security lights where cars are parked as it was quite dark

The room was very comfortable and clean. The bath towels were great and the toiletries provided were nice. The dinner we had in the pub was delicious and the serving sizes were enormous. The staff was really nice as well. I would definitely stay there again.
The lock on the door was a little questionable, and could stand to be updated or reinforced. We didn’t feel unsafe, but I think we were the only ones staying there. If I were there alone with other guests next door, I might feel differently.

The location was perfect after visiting Bath and Wells. The staff was helpful especially when we couldn't get an internet connection. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable.
The internet connection was poor in our room, which meant we had to sit in the bar to get online. It would have been more of a problem if one of us had to work online. It was nice that they offered a "breakfast bag", however, most of its contents were sugary processed food (cereal bars).

A comfortable roadside inn with ample free parking. The Mendip Inn offers very good value for money, though for travellers who enjoy a hearty breakfast on site this isn't for you. However I found the breakfast bag provided to be perfectly adequate for my needs. The small room was clean and well appointed. I wasn't affected by noise from the nearby main road
My only disappointment was the fact that I could only access the WiFi in the bar area and not in the bedroom.

I have used The Mendip Inn for a number of times and have found the location convenient for my purposes. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food at the restaurant very good.
The room (The Rabbit Hutch), which I have used for nearly all my stays, apart from one, suits my purpose for a one night stay. The only thing I don’t like is the room is cold as the radiator does not work or the central heating has not been turned on.

Our room was very attractive and comfortable and the food was good. We enjoyed ourselves. The staff were very friendly. It was good breakfast was delivered in paper bags so conscious of our environmental impact.
I hadn't realised that breakfast was delivered to your bedroom door so was surprised not to be able to have muesli and fruit and yoghurt for breakfast with a slice of toast. However, it was nice not to have to leap out of bed to a deadline and to be able to lie in bed eating breakfast.
