The hotel was on lovely grounds (sunset sucker here), I think the ladies name was Rebecca (I’m the one who mentioned the staffi and used to work in a hotel) she was an absolute credit to the hotel! So warm and friendly and every time I went past she made the effort to talk. Thank you to her because it made the stay! The room was 120 and was really nice and cosey! Bed was really good as I have back problems! Nice and quiet!

The only fault would be the fan in the room. The plug didn’t fit in the wall socket (one prong was bent so wouldn’t fit) room got rather warm and because there was a bush right outside the window I didn’t want to open it due to bugs (classic ey)

We were arriving late (post midnight) and were greeted by the night manager, Michael, who was friendly and helpful throughout. Not only did he get us checked in to our rooms smoothly, but he was also happy to oblige us at the bar, keeping us topped up for a couple of hours whilst we caught up with the day. Having travelled down from up north, and then played a gig in Brighton, without any chance to have a beer and a chat, this was absolutely ideal for us, and very much appreciated. The rooms were very quiet, and spacious, and suitably comfortable. The surrounding area was quiet, and we had no concerns leaving our gear stashed in the van overnight - it felt secure. Would recommend.

The breakfast finishes at 9:30am which was far too early for us! However, there are places in the nearby town to get breakfast, so it's really not that much of an issue.

The out of town/ city feel. Location, loved the views, room, and overall quietness of your location. The staff were lovely, friendly, and reception staff, exceptional!!! I arrived on Sunday, a no cooking day for you, so your BRILLIANT!! Young, receptionists talked me through the 'just eat' app , they were ALL!! Lovely, and made me feel welcome.

The fact I wasn't aware that I couldn't dine in the restaurant on a Sunday night, that might be noted on your wed site, the breakfasts were TINY, Black pudding SO burnt to a crisp, would have taken a lazer to have impregramating it.

One of the best pet friendly hotels I have stayed in! The staff were fabulous with our two dogs, lots of grass to walk the dogs on and the room was a fantastic size. The only complaint, from the dogs, was that the twin single beds weren't big enough! 🤣 The food from the restaurant was beautifully cooked, the waitress was very pleasant too. We were offered to eat out in the bar area, where our dogs could be with us if we had wanted too. Guests, on arrival, were also warned that it was a pet friendly hotel, and that dogs were staying there, which was a very pleasant change! Loved their wall of dog photos! Hopefully our two Silken Windhounds will be added too! Only 5 mins from our event at Hickstead Show Jumping Arena, it was the perfect choice and we will be returning!

Not Applicable!

The staff were extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. Nothing was really too much trouble. Our room was very large spotlessly clean as was the bathroom and the bed linen. The hotel was pretty much full at the weekend and the breakfast was self service buffet style and perfectly acceptable. We stayed on until Monday and the breakfast service was more personal. Altogether a very nice hotel although a little dated and would benefit from a good deal of renovation to increase its star rating.

We did mention that the room smelt a little musty, and suggested it was possibly the carpet which probably needed a deep clean or replacing.

4 family rooms booked. Had to change plans slightly but hotel were very flexible Breakfast excellent. Didn't take long to arrive.. Plenty of choice. Nothing too much trouble. Plenty car spaces so handy parking Lovely setting and grounds. Cleaning of rooms excellent. Even a cool fan. In rooms. Other people"s Pet dogs were no problem All staff lovely and helpful

Mostly quiet. . Only issue was the bench and table at front of hotel entrance where people sit to smoke and talk. Very near front ground floor rooms. It was hot so our windows were open Few guests were getting louder until late eve. Plus cigarette smoke. Dealt with by Manager very quickly and politely when we asked him if they might quieten down a little.. Could it be moved?? Or a curfew?

not only was there tea and coffee making facilities, but two bottles of mineral water also, and a couple of lovely biscuits. so few hotels provide fresh drinking water so it's a treat to have it. it's the little touches that make the difference, like tissues in the en-suite. a table and chairs to sit at rather than clambering onto the bed. which was so comfortable I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow, and I got my full eight hours.

there wasn't anything to complain about or find fault with.

Nice friendly staff. dogs welcome (we didn’t bring ours) always someone on hand if needed. Big clean room Comfy Bed Nice bath and hot water good shower. Good breakfast again lovely service. Quiet surroundings just what we needed. Great value for money

My only bug bare was 8am gardener. Woke me up I had to be up anyway but if I wanted to sleep in a 8am alarm call wouldn’t be wanted. Why can’t they start at 9? Decor a bit dated too

Dog friendly was a must, and it wasn't just 'dog friendly' on the label, we felt the staff actually meant it. Breakfast was fine and well cooked, with a nice choice. It's pleasant to see a hotel with some grounds in a nice setting Quick respone to a fault in the room Staff eager to help to ensure everything is ok - well chosen staff as well - polite and helpful.

Photo on web did not do the establishment justice All these are MINOR .... but A couple more dog water bowls outside wouldnt go a miss A 'dog poo' bin somewhere out near the car parking might have been useful - we have to take it away with us as no facilities Tap plug stuck in Rm 107 - just needed a check after the previous user - sorted quickly when reported The signage was not the best and sat nav led us to the other end of Jobs Lane !! Bit surprised when the 'dog charge' was mentioned as there was nothing in the literature on the web at all about there being a charge - understand it and no problem - just letting us know beforehand would have been better

We have stayed before and hotel is comfortable and convenient for us, just off the A23 and close to Burgess Hill. The grounds are nice and staff are friendly and helpful. Nice bar in the evening. Nice rooms. Large choice at breakfast. Will definitely go again.

Bed was squeaky and could feel springs on one side, compared to previous visits when the beds were always comfortable. It was mentioned to staff.
