The stay itself was great. It was clean and we enjoyed our stay.

We paid £233 for our room for one night. On top of that, we had to pay £15 for parking and £15pp to use the spa. I would have expected the price we paid, we were, at least, entitled to use the spa facilities.

The room was well furnished and the bed was comfortable. The hotel itself was not noisy. I could turn the heating down in my room which was important to me. The option for £5 credit for forgoing room service is a great idea. I put it towards a glass of wine with my meal. The spa is excellent and I enjoyed a lovely massage a d morning of self-care in the spa which made for a very nice day.

Unfortunately the pattern of dishonesty in the world means that guests can't be trusted to pay their bill when they leave. I had to go back upstairs to get my bank card to 'pay-as-you-go' for my dinner. It would be good to have been informed of this when I arrived. Also note that the £5 'no room service' credit does not go directly on your account and the bar staff won't have heard of it. A voucher is issued by reception. Again, communication of this method would have been helpful. The accounting at reception is not linked to the bar. One last thing- the hotel sends a LOT of emails prior to the check-in date. It's a bit too many. Yes, I get it, you want to sell stuff. Half the number of emails would be fine.

Breakfast: The breakfast selection was okay, sausage and bacon were really good. The small variety of pastries were good. Room: Really happy with the room, especially having a smart tv with Netflix, youtube and other relevant streaming apps! Gym: Really good facilities, good variety of equipment, very clean, i wish i had more time to make use of the pool and spa facilities.

Breakfast items could have been better quality - eggs were a very strange texture, i suspect they were carton / powdered. Hash browns were not crispy, they were soggy. Room: Being located at the top of a busy creaky staircase on the 1st was a bit of an annoyance, but just a gripe from me more than anything.

Clean. Staff were superb.

Breakfast. The cooked breakfast was minging. It is cooked, put into containers and left to go hard and dry. I was at breakfast at 7 each morning and it was all dry then!!

Good location, 10 mins from a lovely, sandy beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful and were very good with the children. The pool is in a conservatory so lovely and warm and not busy even on an August weekend. There’s a lovely garden and lots of comfortable seating in the lounge bar

The rooms need updating with proper showers rather than an attachment over the bath. Our room was very hot and the fans didn’t help much. The breakfast was the same every day. We found the restaurant over-priced and not very good

The room was comfortable and well appointed, and the daily servicing maintained it to a high standard. The spa facilities were great and although they were at extra charge to the room rate, the price was very reasonable.

The hotel doesn't offer fried eggs as part of its "full English" breakfast offering - even on request, I was told that only the scrambled and boiled options were available, and that the chef could make me an omelette but could not fry eggs! I was also a little concerned that when there was a fire alarm, which turned out to be false, staff didn't seem sure how to respond to it.

We had an excellent stay that exceeded our expectations. The combination of location close to the beach and close to the town centre for browsing on a rainy day, the pool and the bar/tea room is fantastic. The staff is going the extra mile to help and are aware of customer preferences, great point as we had our special table reserved. Rooms are very good, everything you would expect plus the iron, which was helpful. Parking. Spa.

The very rude, controlling and racist male taff member in the Spa put me off using it. But we didn't let it spoil our holiday.

The food was excellent and the staff were all very helpful and polite. The spa facilities were good value for money and I liked that there was parking at the hotel. The dining area was nice and spacious as well as comfortable. The beds were comfortable although the pillows were on the small side.

Outside the room we were allocated there were various elements of the aircon/heating units as well as multiple flat roofs (we were on floor 1 so looked straight out onto it). This was quite noisy, even during nighttime. In the bathroom there was no fan and even with the window open it got very steamed up and didn't clear for about an hour. Also, there was no toilet roll holder. There were no hooks in the main room for coats etc. The kettle was not located near a plug, so it had to be moved to boil.

A wonderful hotel which has been updated throughout to a high level I only deducted a single point because that upgrade was ongoing during the week we stayed. But none the less the facilities, staff and exceptional restaurant shone through. I am pleased that the upgrade was completed on our last evening and the day we left, so I would not hesitate to give this hotel the highest award going forward. With regard to location, because it was so close to the main bus routes, the shopping centre, restaurants, theatre and cinema were within 10 minutes, following a 3-minute walk to the bus stops

Some rooms are on the 4th floor, but staff are more than happy to assist you with your baggage

A nice relaxed hotel with excellent staff. The rooms were clean and tidy. The only thing I would improve on would be to put a coffee making machine in the room as not everyone likes tea and powdered coffee. The spa area was very good and we enjoyed our visit there. Pool was okay not really a place to swim and then relax with a book as it’s constantly filled with kids. The outdoor area was nice and spacious plenty of room to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. Hotel staff were very helpful. The breakfast was good plenty of choice although £15 each is rather steep. We did benefit from our discount which runs from Sunday to Thursday and you get 50% off house wine and draft beers. You know a good stay in a nice hotel which we would definitely visit
