A very nice hotel in a good location, with helpful and welcoming staff. The bed was comfy and the room was well stocked, especially with toiletries.

Everywhere was rather dark, including the bedroom and restaurant. The wifi wasn't good and parking is difficult. The view was disappointing (over a flat roof) despite being in a room facing towards the river and bridge.

The Room was gorgeous and big. We really liked to find so many little details in the Room to make you feel Welcome. Like little Towels for the Face, L’Occitane Soap, Nail File, Plugs and USB Plug beside the bed (!) The Reception and all the staff was super helpful and friendly. The morning coffee was lovely!! The option to have only coffee (!!) Instead of a full breakfast because we don’t take breakfast at all, but we do have coffee’s (I know, it’s not healthy 🙄)

Everything was lovely. But if I would have to comment something I would have liked to open the window a bit. Which I couldn’t because we had a scaffold in front and we were in the first floor. I felt it was a bit unsecure leaving it open at night. Other than that. Everything was amazing 🥰

The room was lovely, clean and spacious. In spite of being on the road side of the hotel, it was incredibly quiet. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating - nothing was too much trouble. They also were very accommodating with our dog. The food and service in the restaurant was excellent. The location is fantastic - within walking distance of shops, restaurants, the gorge and the suspension bridge.

The room lighting could be a bit brighter, the full-length mirror is tucked away in a dark corner and the bathroom mirror is a bit too high. I’m of average height, but could only just see all of my face. The toilet roll holder kept coming apart and the roll almost slipping off. It could also be better placed a bit further forward on the wall.

1. The young staff were helpful, sociable, and efficient: quite outstanding. 2. The view from the restaurant is stunning & food was very good. 3. Our room was spotless. 4. The location was very convenient for Clifton’s independent shops and eateries.

1. The hotel colour palette seemed to have been derived from that of a Victorian undertaker. The light level and the positioning of wall & ceiling lights in bedrooms did not favour readers. The generally gloomy décor was a bit like being trapped in the counting-house of Scrooge & Marley. 2. The game of “find the parking space” was *quite* the challenge!

Fantastic location overlooking the Clifton Suspension Bridge Impeccably refurbished and well maintained hotel Great room, very large and comfortable bed Excellent in-room facilities Parking permit

Reception staff member was a little cold on arrival, but other staff made up for it A little unsightly water damage in the bathroom, but understandably for such an old building. Otherwise very well kept. Room was such a long way away from the exit, which didn't help when my dog needed the toilet. Think the "dog friendly" rooms situated that far away for the benefit of other guests and not for those with dogs

Comfortable bed, nice size of room, lovely bathroom (underfloor heating!), unique view over facilities - gorge in background was beautiful. Nice amenities in the room (whole milk had gone off). Great restaurant & room service staff, tho not friendly at bar or checkout.

Room and bathroom crazy dark & could hear thundering herd of family or friends upstairs all eve and morning. Did phone down about it but no change. Lounge odd/not comfortable. Food hyper salty (pea soup & sea bass). And I like salt…

Stunning location. Chic bar. Very comfy bed. Parked car easily. Walking around Clifton shops cafes and bars, and the bridge and the park is a joy. Views from the White Lion terrace next door are fabulous. Breakfast was excellent. Home made granola with yoghurt and fruits especially. Freshly made toast brought to your table and the cooked breakfast really very good. Great value too.

It suited us very well and we enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay again. The bar tables are maybe a little worn in places but can’t really complain about anything. Possibly a little expensive for our room size.

The room (junior suite) was very nice and had a real old-world charm, with a modern touch. The staff for dinner in the restaurant were extremely friendly and the food was very decent. The location is good and the views from the room were great.

The check in process was reasonable but there were no staff at all to help with luggage. Having just had an operation, I did not appreciate having to negotiate an old and narrow staircase with four cases in order to get to my room. This was after getting out of the lift on the correct floor (there were still stairs to take in order to get to the room). The room was extremely nice (junior suite) although having the only sink situated outside of the bathroom was an odd and somewhat impractical feature. The breakfast was rather poor and the morning staff were not so great. Due to the layout of the rooms, the soundproofing was very poor and frequent noise could be heard from people simply passing through the corridors outside. It literally sounded like they were in the room!

Up market hotel, tastefully decorated (perhaps a little too dark) . As you’d expect comfortable and clean.

I have a personal beef about hotels charging over £200 per night plus top prices for drinks who do not include even a basic continental breakfast for the price. The only option provided was to stump Up a further £24 per person for the breakfast buffet. I went out and bought croissants ! Also I paid for upgrade to a deluxe room which really just meant we got an espresso machine . Not worth it given a kettle and coffee/tea is provided anyway.

Superb location at the top of the Avon Gorge overlooking the bridge at the rear of the hotel. The outside terrace bar is perfect for sundown drinks watching the bridge lights come on. At the front, Clifton Village is a short stroll away and is a charming area. We very much appreciated being given a resident's permit to park for free on the street 100 meters away - though we know it was first come first served for these. Friendly and helpful staff - notably the waitress for dinner (a uni student doing drama/performance) Great, spacious walk-in shower with a waterfall head and controls that are easy to follow.

Strangely, considering the view, the room window was grubby, and also the large plate glass windows in the restaurant were ovderdue a clean. We didn't take breakfast as it looked overpriced and the signage suggested it would be overcrowded. Opted for dinner in the restaurant but considered it overpriced, and clearly the kitchen wasn't stocked for the bank holiday weekend as the sea bass and tuna had run out, leaving us disappointed and the other choices limited. NB The Ivy is a short walk away and it was superb the following night.
