prices in the bar - ridiculously expensive

We stayed here to go to Lakeside for the darts finals. What a little gem this place is! The staff were great.... particularly the lovely male receptionist who greeted us on arrival. I didn't get his name but a big thumbs up to him. The Christmas decor was a little bit of unexpected icing on the cake. Our room was relatively spacious with a very comfy bed. Clean and homely. Thanks to housekeeping. Breakfast choices were superb. We helped ourselves to a Full English which saw us happily back to our home in Wales later in the day. Thanks to the kitchen and waiting staff. Thank you so much for a lovely stay. We wouldn't hesitate to stay with you again if we return to the area.

Tranquil beautiful surroundings quiet and peaceful, the smell throughout the hotel was amazing !!!! staff really friendly and helpful, spa was lovely pool was clean and facilities were excellent Products in the bathroom were lovely too great smell and plenty of.

Only moans I could have is that the breakfast was defiantly substandard, we arrived 8am on Saturday morn for breakfast it was lukewarm not much choice, bacon and sausages were not of good standard, no choice of eggs - fried poached etc only scrambled which was anaemic and tasteless, coffee was also lukewarm and barely drinkable, we didn’t even bother today (Sunday) cause was such a disappointment. Just sad had to mention this part oh and should put more towels in the rooms,

Wow the hotel set in a beautiful location surrounded by beautiful woodlike landscapes Wtje Christmas decorations were amazing, the spa facilities were included and we all had a swim the evening of arrival. We didn't eat at the hotel we went to a beautiful little pub down the road. The rooms were clean and beds were so comfy. The grand entrance was dressed up beautifully for Christmas Lapland UK was our destination for the day and it was about 6 miles away which was great Absolutely amazing

Stairs as have elderly mother and a child with disabilities but it wasn't too bad to maintain the steps up to the room

Beautiful building set in pretty (though limited) grounds. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are a good size, the spa and pool are excellent. Was here with my toddler, teenaged niece, and my mother — worked well across all age groups. Would happily come back here again, it’s good value.

Food was a bit meh and overpriced, though breakfast was fine. Wish more of the lounge areas were open for visitors (the main lounge was used as overflow for breakfast, whatever the library is was never open). There’s no lift to the upper floor, wasn’t an issue for us but worth being aware. One of our rooms had a broken toilet; we were given a new room immediately.

Lovely hotel with beautiful grounds and seating in the front. The room was spacious and very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The lady that ran the breakfast room was very helpful and pleasant and breakfast was good.. The pool and the sauna was lovely and we had robes and slippers provided

One of the towels in the bedroom was threadbare and had a hole in it. There was only one member of staff on the bar and we had to wait nearly half an hour for a cup of coffee.

This is a gorgeous old property, with stunning grounds. Rooms are generous in size and extremely comfortable. Beautiful bedding and a superb mattress. Old world comfort, something that I enjoy in this fast paced modern world. I felt very peaceful staying at this location. Staff were extremely polite and helpful especially to my brother who felt a little unwell in the morning.

I would have liked a kettle and coffee/tea tray in my room. Very limited disabled parking spaces which meant I had to walk a very long way from my car with all my bags to my room and back again the next morning. Neither were deal breakers though, I would stay here again.

The grounds were beautiful as was the decor inside the hotel, staff were so welcoming and friendly. Particularly Amelia and Bozena! The staff surprised my partner with some bday decorations ( looked a little tacky but the thought counts). Breakfast was lovely and could be made fresh to order if requested. Bozena was particularly tentative to all guests and made our stay that little bit more special. The spa was amazing, welcomed by Emily and Max who were so friendly. Loved the warm pool and sauna and steam room. We have booked a lovely spa day with massage and facial. I was left feeling amazing and so relaxed! Lucy was able to make me feel like a new woman after my full body massage and facial. Her tips for new products were also very helpful.

The bedrooms need updating and new bathrooms. Didn’t realise the dog friendly hotel didn’t have any pet free rooms..

We have chosen this hotel becouse we did stay here before many times. We really enjoy time here, location, swimming pool for our boy, outdoor space and its close to a town.

Well, we have stayed in a room that require lot of attention, to be honest re decoration from top to bottom. Room 59 that we stayed in needs ceiling done becouse it looks like its going to fall, a door to a bathroom needs fresh paint. Also it would be great to clean a dust from a desk where tv is standing or from a little cupboards on both sides of a bed.

The hotel and grounds were lovely. Our room looked over the gardens. Breakfast had a great selection .

We usually eat in hotels when we stay for only one night but we decided not to eat in the hotel as the restaurant seemed lifeless - no music or atmosphere. ( it was a Sunday though but some quiet music would of been nice) Our room ok. Some parts a bit tired - the divan on the bed was a bit tatty, a window was broken. The bar staff were not the friendliest, we are smiley and chatty people but were met with Stoney faces saying no cash, we took our drinks to our room as not a nice atmosphere there.
