Everything was immaculate. All the staff were amazing. Shout outs in particular to Rae and Tina who served the breakfast and took their time to chat pleasantly. This hotel has it all. Views, charm, comfort, value, intrigue, history, wonky floor boards, and lots of interesting things to look at. Best of all right by the beach I swam in the sea as the sun rose, watching its full shape appear. That alone is a life enhancing miracle and I’d say the Royal Hotel has been my favourite ever hotel stay. Impeccable in every aspect. I think its extra cost was worth it. The food was good and the receptionist was super helpful too.

Getting up so early I noticed the window cleaner hard at work, making the hotel dazzle, as it really does. I couldn’t help but find the man talking to him and not working but making noise at 7:00am so loudly outside the guests room to be a bit inappropriate. That is the only negative if my whole experience.

The hotel Is in a beautiful position overlooking the sea . It Is old fashion ed and needs up dating . However the important part about a hotel is the bedroom . The bedroom Was delightful . The bed was huge and was extremely comfortable. The linen was pure cotton and lovely to sleep in. The bathroom was fantastic with a slipper bath and a very good shower so again the tiles were of excellent quality. The both rooms were spotlessly clean. I had the most beautiful view of the sea from my bedroom window This hotel is fantastic for money especially if there are two of you. I would certainly stay there again and recommend it highly. was .,breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and the staff were delightful .

The common parts need modernising .

The location is fantastic: right on the beach with an amazing vista from our room and a grandstand view of the brave group of free swimmers every morning at 8. Breakfast is excellent, fresh made whatever one wants and included in the price.. The room is more or less original but very well maintained; Large, warm and very comfortable. The hotel has notable historic associations and has kept these up without sacrificing comfort. The hotel is placed so that all of Deal is quickly accessible on foot.

There is a wheelchair suitable lift to the first floor. It would be good for those like me who dislike stairs if there was a continuation to the upper floors.

Breakfast on most mornings was excellent but on a couple of mornings, the hot breakfast was not as hot as it should be. Suspect it was left sitting outside in the kitchen. The breakfast menu was very good, with lots to choose from. Our room was excellent, as it had a balcony, which we made good use of! The location was very good too, right next to the car park, which you had to remember to pay for on a daily basis!

The wifi could have been a lot better, and although the hotel is an old building, feel the management could do better on getting better wifi.

The sound of the sea as we drifted off to sleep in the comfort of a balcony room. The room was very clean and largely well maintained. Staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive. The room and meal in the restaurant were decent value for the experience. All in all we had an incredibly relaxing time and will be back.

A couple of little bits of maintenance needed like the loose lock on the bathroom door. The towel rail in the shower room was on full blast - stepping in there was like standing on the edge of a volcano. We couldn't figure out how to turn it down.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, the room overlooking the beach (Nelson) had amazing views including France on a clear day. The room was very quiet at night and the food was very good. A nice touch was, you could ask for a flask of chilled milk to take to your room for your tea or coffee, much better than those little uht milk pots. The bed was very comfy and the choice of real ale was superb.

Only one armchair in the room meaning one person had to sit on the bed to look at the tv or get a garden chair off the balcony. The Wi-Fi was restricted to basic emails or surfing, it also kept asking for sky logins details which I don't have.

The location was fabulous. Right on the sea front. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and greeted you. Guests ate in the bar/restaurant area. There was a lively atmosphere and again the staff were great. The menu was varied catering for all diets and our food was delicious, well cooked and presented. It was also great value. Our room was a suite which was airy, well decorated, extremely clean and had a huge comfortable bed. There was also a coffee machine, pods and a array of teas, coffees and hot chocolate. We were given fresh milk in a flask on arrival. We stayed here for a birthday treat and the staff offered me a breakfast cocktail and made our stay a joy. Deal is a beautiful town architecturally and the sea front is particularly picturesque. The pier is lovely to walk at any time of the day but particularly early morning and sunset.

We loved our suite but the only complaint was the bathroom. The room was on the third floor and there was no pressure which made the shower unusable which was very frustrating. The water couldn’t maintain pressure or temperature. The bath panel was chipped and blown and the shower screen was tatty. The view from the bathroom was glorious so it was sad that a little investment in a water pump for the shower and some replacement bath fittings had been overlooked, as it could be one of the most scenic and inviting bathrooms around. Such a shame as the lack of a usable shower was the only fault we found in this otherwise wonderful place!

We had a Family Room which was very comfortable and spacious and had a sea view. The Bathroom was adequate, however the Shower in the Bath needed to be upgraded as the water kept moving from cold to hot to cold throughout the shower. The location was excellent. The breakfast was very good!!

The wifi was very bad, and id not remain on all the time, and you had to keep logging on!!! This irritated our whole party, as wifi is a major part of everyones lives now so ALL Hotels should be offering top of th range wifi and good signal throughout the hotel. Many people although on holiday, still need to be able to work, access emails, etc and therefore require good and reliable wifi and internet speeds.

The location, the price was reasonable, the rooms were huge and comfortable and the staff were so lovely. We had a lovely welcome from the staff and our rooms were lovely and big with good tea, coffee and toiletries provided. The lounge area in receptions had big comfy sofas where we sat for a drink and the menu in the restaurant was varied and the food was fab.

The restaurant was cold and the radiators has not been on so when we ate in the evening it was a bit chilly.

Room was large and clean, but a bit noisy from the road traffic early in the morning. Service is excellent. Very friendly both on reception and at the bar and in the restaurant. Location is excellent as the hotel is right on the beach and a very short walk from the town centre.

Parking is challenging. There is no hotel car park. nor are there any reserved spots in the public car park next door to the hotel. As a result, one can spend a significant amount of time looking for a car parking slot.
