The food was excellent. the pie was the best that I have had that comes in a dish. the other meals were really good. Breakfast was excellent and the service was really good. The room was a short walk away from the pub, this was ideal as it was easy to get to but you didn't get the noise form the pub that would keep you awake.

The room was basic but ok as it was used as a base. it could have done with a bit of a touch up and the toilet seemed to be filling up all the time but it didn't seem a problem.

A bit more choice at breakfast like fruit or pastries, but the cooked breakfast was very good

The bed was a good size and comfortable. The room itself was spacious. I loved the mini fridge. Breakfast was good too. Plenty of choices. It’s in a good location.

One side of the room was dark when you closed the curtains. We had to put the bathroom light on and leave the door open. A small wall light or lamp would be ideal. The bathroom mirror could do with being lifted a few inches. My hubby, who’s tall, had to bend down to shave.

The breakfast was very good, very good value , cooked just how we requested, nothing was too much trouble. Would certainly recommend

The only thing I can would address would be, explain that the pub/restaurant does get busy at times, so it’s best to book a table even if you just want a drink, there was a private party the night we stayed and at first we were told we couldn’t stay for a drink but then said if we came back half an hour later a table would be available, so we were lucky otherwise it would have been an early night for us.

A great pub venue with dog friendly accommodation in separate annexes. Friendly/welcoming staff. Food was good too. Overall decent value for money stay, and good location to explore the Northumbria coastline.

As others have written, the annex could do with a refresh, with a focus on a better/more modern bathroom. Otherwise the reviews will forever mention a wobbly toilet seat!

Only 2 things that are not dislikes, but the bed was too soft for my liking, but that is a personal preference and the room did not have Wi-Fi, but to be fair, it meant that I couldn’t work late and had to go for d pint

Looked very nice, love the fridge in the room very nice layout and where it was situated and amazing food with plenty of tea and coffee

The bed was too soft and the toilet was far too low down and when you sat on it you got the boiler digging into your back so that was very unpleasant and the front door didn't fit correct when you shit it and locked it you could see a gap along the top of the door where light was getting through

Food was good quality, plentiful and reasonably priced. Room was comfortable and heating was available at all times.

Some peeling pain in the room but otherwise decorated well. Noise from one vehicle in the car park for several hours, radio on very loud and windows open. Vehicle was left overnight but radio off and windows closed.

Stayed here before, it's a handy location for visiting friends and family when I come back to North East. Its also a good base for exploring the coastline. Has the added benefit of being able to bring our dog who usually stays in kennel. Very clean and one of comfiest hotel beds we have slept in.

this is a fabulous b&b. great value for money and superb staff, breakfast and facilities. very clean and lovely self contained unit

we always seem to stay in room 3 but this time like the last we couldn’t sleep well due to the mattress. the springs dog in and hurt. there is no padding at all. when you rub your hand across the bed you can feel the springs, I’m surprised it isn’t noted when the beds made.
