We were upgraded to Room 1 with the kitchen facilities and the huge bathroom with roll top bath as there were building works going on. Our room was gorgeous ,spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The staff were all so friendly and helpful with advice on the area. The menu in the restaurant is limited but food was good…breakfast is taken over the road at Byfords…this was outstanding!! We are thinking to move to the area so will definitely be back on any house hunts! Highly recommend staying here!!
Was a little noisy when the bins were moved/emptied at about 6.30am but as I would imagine the building is a listed one they only have single glazed windows. No aircon so might be quite warm in summer months but there is a Dyson fan- obviously in January with -1 temp we didn’t need to use it! No parking so used Albert Street car park at £8.50 for 24hrs…wasn’t easy to get a space in there so can’t imagine what it will be like in the summer.

Completely over-the-moon with this booking (June 2024). Great pub atmosphere, quality ales, delicious food, and very friendly staff. Shout-out to barman Kristian, in particular, who made me feel very safe and welcome. However, by far the most impressive aspect of this venue was the upstairs accommodation (Room #1) which was jaw-droppingly awesome. Huge bedroom, separate bathroom, separate kitchen - everything spotless, very thoughtful decor, incredibly plush king bed. Spent 2 nights here but could have happily stayed 6 months! Thanks to all the staff for making me feeling totally at home. I will make a point of coming back in the future. Good luck!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful (my bags were carried upstairs) and I was always greeted with a smile and they very kindly let me work in the bar area on the day of my departure (before it opened to the public). The room (1) was gorgeous. Huge bedroom and bed, massive bathroom and a kitchen so I was able to cook my own dinner. And it was lovely and quiet even though it was over the bar. They supplied a Dyson air cooler which was much needed as it was a very hot day and the room was a tad warm! Breakfast was at Byfords across the road which was excellent and the staff there were also very friendly and helpful. Holt is a lovely town/village with lots of interesting shops and art galleries, all tucked away in 'Yards'.
Bit of a nuisance to have to park (and pay for) in a local car park and meant I had to lug my stuff from the car park to the hotel as there was nowhere to park on the main road outside the pub. But honestly, that was my only niggle.

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The room(no.3) was very big as well as the bathroom, clean & comfortable. Had everything we could of wanted. The breakfast was just along the road at Bidfords and was also very good. Car parking was at nearby Albert Street £8.50 for 24 hour. We headed for Church Street car park first but turned out to be very expensive for 24 hour. Budgens car park at the rear of the hotel was for 3 hours max which is no good for overnight. Worth knowing this before your stay to avoid a lot of hassle and stress.
I think the menu could of had more variety of popular meals on offer i.e. a pie or sausage and mash. Had difficulty finding something but settled for good old fish & chips.

It is an old pub in the centre of Holt. The bedroom was very well appointed, comfortable bed, very big bed too. Enormous bathroom with everything provided. Comfortably warm throughout the property. Good quality tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Very friendly, helpful staff. Restaurant was excellent in the evenings too. Breakfast at Byfords, using voucher from Kings Head, was all you could wish for! Plenty of choice and again friendly, helpful staff.
There was nothing we could fault!

The room was beautifully decorated, it was very comfortable well equipped with a delightful bathroom ! Breakfast was not at the accommodative but in a separate business a short distance walk away, it was well worth the walk, the breakfast was worth it by far one of the best.breakfasts I have ever had included… exceptional!,, staff were very friendly and helpful
Ther was nothing needed to improve our stay. The room was amazing in a lovely town, which had so many independent shops. A real find.

The room was clean and comfortable and the fitted kitchen was a bonus. The food was excellent: both the evening meal and breakfast at Byfords. The staff were friendly and helpful.
It was disappointing there was no onsite parking, especially as we had to pay £8.50 for overnight parking in Albert Road car park which was some distance from the King's Head if you factor in transporting luggage in wet and windy weather! This is the only reason I'm not giving our stay 10/10

Great manager & staff - very welcoming & helpful. Excellent room - really large & spacious- like a mini apartment! . Very comfortable bed, all very clean & great facilities. Lovely touches like biscuits/ tea & coffee making facilities- even chocolates! Also great breakfast included at Byfords. Fantastic value for money too & location was great - right in the centre if Holt. Already booking for next year.! Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Nothing!

Huge well appointed room including large bathroom and kitchenette. Althought beakfast was offsite accross the road at 'Byfords' it wasn't a problem and actually very good! We both slept well. The manager was very pleasant and made us feel very wecolme, nothing was too much of a problem. I would like to stress that parking is in one of the nearby public car parks. On the day we arrived Holt was very busy and we initially struggled to get a parking space after driving around for quite a while!
More parking options would be good but I guess that's unfortunately just the nature of 'Holt' being so popular?!

Booked a double room, and the room we got was huge and more like an apartment - very comfortable, equipped and furnished well, and very quiet. Staff were very helpful and polite. The first drink in the bar was complimentary, and it was a nice touch. Couldn't fault the Kings Head. Another thing we liked was breakfast was at Byfords nearby, we were given a voucher to present and the breakfast choices were superb!! Would definitely recommend it, and we will be back.
Couldn't fault it!!!
