The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly. Great food.

The property is in need of repair, looking tied and in need of restoration. Our room was a small cosy double which was clean, extremely warm and a little tied. It rained last night but couldn’t have the window open due to a blocked gutter which dripped onto the conservatory roof all night. There was a fan provided in the room which did help. We stayed last year for the May bank holiday in a standard king room and this year also the May bank holiday but a smaller room and the price had increased by £108 from 2023 in a room half the size.

Location great for walking around the local area and lovely, friendly staff. Our room was recently refurbished and comfortable with a nice countryside view. The breakfast was fantastic and worth setting the alarm for - the other party we travelled with had a dog and even they got a little doggy breakfast.

Wasn’t really a warning of refurbishment when we booked, think the hotel is good but has the potential to be great if the standards are similar to our room. Main areas were tired which is understandable in a well used building but parts could have been presented better. Looking forward to seeing finished results.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by an extremely friendly receptionist who quickly offered all the information required. The room was welcoming and, despite my reservations being a doggy hotel, extremely clean (a must in my books). The food was amazing, we ate in both nights of our stay. There was a dog pack in the room containing biscuits, toy, and doggy bags should you need them. Staff were lovely. We would certainly come again. Thank you.

No snacks after 4, which left us in a dilemma as we had eaten fish and chips (has to be done by the coast) at lunchtime. We ended going with just a light meal.

We have stayed at the Inn on the Moor over many years, enjoying the gradual upgrades (and appreciating the hard work) that has made this hotel such a fabulous place to stay. From the warm welcome, allowing us to leave our car on site while we had a walk, to the amazing room and superb bathroom followed by a Valentine's meal that would meet any gourmets expectations. The service is delivered by lovely people who always smile, even though you know they are putting in long hours. The beer and other drinks are also great plus it is set in the most beautiful surroundings. Highly recommended for active people with or without their 4 legged friend, who enjoy a bit of luxury, warm friendly staff and good food and drink.

There is nothing we don't like about this place... apart from not going often enough!

Great location. Really lovely staff both at reception and at the bar. Beautiful grounds. Lovely food and bar. Convenient parking. Amazing views. Nice breakfast and again lovely serving staff, nothing was too much trouble. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again

Only thing that was a little bit annoying was the extractor fan which was quite loud and stayed on for a long time after you'd turned the light off, but understand why it's there as no windows in the bathroom.

A return visit. Hotel is being extensively refurbished, and what a good job they are doing. Our room was smart modern and well appointed. We had a fridge, a safe, a hairdryer and more illuminations than Blackpool. Couldn't fault it. Food was excellent always fresh and tasty. Good sized helpings - you won't go hungry here. Staf were superb; all of them. Guy running the bar must be made of kryptonite. How he runs that on his own is a mystery. (If he had a bit of help the wait would be down to reasonable lengths!)

Emails, emails, emails. Non stop emails from the hotel and Booking .com. All asking for the same thing time after time. I had 10 mails asking me complete auto check in - the last one came an hour after we had checked out. Get it sorted, you are starting to annoy me.

A great place to stay in an excellent location with access to all the walks in and around Goathland. The staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and they were very helpful and friendly. The bar was a nice place to relax and prices were very reasonable. We ate here on the night and we both enjoyed hour meal, again the price was very reasonable. Breakfast was very good. We were leaving early on the day of checking out and we made the staff aware of this. They made sure that we were down to breakfast early so we could eat before we left. Although we only had toast and sausages sandwiches, they arrived quickly, were hot and fresh, and very nice. We would definitely stay here again, although we would opt for a bigger room as the only one available at the time was the Cosy Room, which although was tastefully decorated and had everything we needed, it was quite small for us so maybe take this into account when making a booking and consider how much space you will need.

First of all never judge a book by its cover. Outside looks dated BUT as you walk in WOW. Now I'm a massive critic due to myself working in hospitality. The moment we checked in the time we check out it was OUTSTANDING. I have a butter allergy and they helped me with this even the chefs were aware. The food was out of this world. I felt like I was actually at home. Fresh and most certainly delicious. The brie for the starter worked so well with the cranberry. Just melted so I had to have it twice. First night the lasagne. So creamy fresh very tasty. The second night I had the burger. And wow definitely locally sourced. Seasoned to perfection. Your chefs should be proud. The waiting staff was again very attentive and warm welcomed. Couldn't fault them. Even in the morning they were full of joy. The breakfast again was so fresh and vibrant. The room was gorgeous. Room 17. It's like a brand new room. (Just fix that rad in the bathroom🤣) but on a serious note it was outstanding and this hotel has definitely beaten my expectations and is most certainly on the top of my list. Thank you for having us. !!!!!!

I think it would be easier to say what I didn’t like about this property. We stayed in room five and it was amazing. The view the room the service from the staff and what a wonderful breakfast served to your table with doggy treats included. This place is just outstanding, not just dog friendly but going the extra mile with a doggy package left in room Pete served his breakfast was very friendly I was Nicola on day two

This is a fabulous dog friendly hotel. Especially with dogs in mind it is probably the best we have stayed at. The rooms were comfortable & clean, the meals in the bar area were delicious & not too pricey & neither were the drinks. If you don't wish to venture out in the evening or the weather is particularly bad, they have a pool table, dart board & various other games like dominoes for entertainment. There are some really comfortable sofas in a separate lounge. Parking is easy. Our dog is a well-behaved but lively springer & he loved it here. The staff made a fuss of him. On arrival, he was provided with a bag of treats & and a present of his own rope tug toy. In our room was a doggy towel, bed, 2 bowls & also a smaller plastic mat to place his bowls on In the entrance hallway, there are a couple of towels to rub your wet dog down with & to wipe muddy paws. They have thought of everything The hotel is in a beautiful area with plenty of walks & close to other interesting places, including the seaside town of Whitby All in all, a great hotel (even without a dog) with great staff

There was nothing we didn't like Everything was great
