The whole experience at Brown Rigg was excellent. It far exceeded our expectations. The communal kitchen was very clean and it felt safe to leave our bits in the fridge with others thigs to. Our room was very clean and comfortable and it was very quiet round about and set off the main road so felt very safe as well especially if you had kids. Nice to see the sheep in the firlds as well. Just out of the vvillage but walkable distance if you like. The village has some interesting buildings and a very good Heritage Centre giving alot of local information

No tea towel in the kitchen other than that everything was excellent.

Clean, roomy, really great facilities (kitchen was super helpful). Really friendly staff and nice to see the history of the place. Played some table tennis in the games hall which was fun! The room was cosy and had everything you could possibly need. It’s a convenient link for other areas close by.

The shutters on the window were great but the green light in the room all night was a little annoying - I think this may have been a safety thing though. Not a con for the stay, but please take a torch! It is extremely dark at night. We left our electric car on charge at the village hall so took a walk back to get it, and without a torch on it is not possible to see at all!! There are no street lights in this area.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the lady owner who was extremely friendly, helpful and informative. The rooms were extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean, as was the communal kitchen which we used the morning of our stay. After a long and dirty day in the saddle the showers were hot and very welcome. We were riding the Sandstone Way mountain bike route and this absolute gem was a few yards from it....there was excellent bike storage which even had electric sockets for anyone with an e-bike to charge their bikes overnight.

Great in all aspects. Probably the cleanest place we have ever stayed.

Nothing but some other guests returning late after star gazing were v v loud w their conversation in their room and it woke us up and kept us awake a little while. Not fault of accom at all - can’t remember if their was a sign to encourage quiet on the room doors or inside rooms but perhaps there could be (?) assume other guests just had no idea how audible they were.

We had a wonderful 2 nights stay in one of the lovely Brown Rigg guest rooms. We'd booked an accessible room which exceeded our expectations! We couldn't fault both Sue the owner or her friendly staff onsite (we even learnt some mobile camera tricks off Sue and were lucky enough to get some great pics of the Northern lights!!) Thanks so much, we will return!

Nothing, couldn't fault it.

The location was perfect for out 1 night stay. We had a lovely comfy bed a lovely shower and tea and coffee making facilities. The whole place was spotlessly clean, welcoming and only a short walk into the nearby village that had everything you needed. We will definitely return. We enjoyed the £6 breakfast (each) which is an optional extra left outside your door in the morning consisting off a piece of fruit, a yoghurt, cereal, milk and a bottle of orange juice.

I'm sure if the place was busier that there might be a bit of noise to be heard from the kitchen and the other people staying there but after 10.30pm the place was very quiet.

The bedroom and shower room were very clean, everything worked and the folder of information was useful and had interesting information about the history of the site. There was a good shower and a very large and comfortable bed. It was good value for money for the room without breakfast. A separate kitchen was available and very well-equipped.

It was quite noisy outside through the evening with music and dogs and the internal doors did shut with a clunk as people went in and out. There were only a few rooms in the lodge though and it was all quiet by 11ish so it didn't affect sleep at all.

The room, bathroom and shared kitchen were spotlessly cleaned. The staff were welcoming. The app provided was informative and accurate.The property was ideally situated for the start of our holiday in a quiet location with beautiful views.and for our visit to the Kilder Observatory and local village of Bellingham.

There was nothing to dislike about Brown Riggs accommodation.

Checking in was easy and pleasant. If we needed anything we just had to call. Room was spacious and warm with nice private bathroom and very strong water pressure in the shower. The area was very peaceful, despite the adjacent camping site. Pleasant walk into town for sightseeing and dinner in one of the pubs. Enormous, comfy bed. Great stay for very reasonable price. Recommended.

Very warm room overnight, despite radiator being turned off. A cool breeze coming in through the window would have helped but can't blame the staff for that.

Very convenient location, spotlessly clean and comfortable room, shared kitchen very handy, helpful and friendly staff. We also enjoyed learning about the history of the property; it’s particularly good for cyclists and walkers.

Only slight issue was being awoken by people in next room coming in at 1.30am… they weren’t particularly noisy but the walls are thin so noise of closing of doors & toilet flushing etc comes straight through. It didn’t spoil what was a super weekend though! 😀
