I felt welcomed from the moment I arrived. Parking was very convenient. Staff got me sorted with bags and room. Loved the view from our room! It was absolutely incredible.

I tried to book a whisky tasting for our group. Desk staff assured me that although we had booked a fairly late supper, we could still do the whisky tasting. After our meal, bar staff was reluctant but decided to proceed. The whisky tasting was awkward and rushed. The bar staff who began the tasting was mainly occupied with shutting down the bar but did give us some details about the two whiskies he poured. Then he left, and the remaining bar staff didn't know anything about the whisky; he simply poured it. In the end, it was a sub-par experience. The desk staff should have better coordinated with the bar staff and either told us that the whisky tasting would not be possible after our meal or got an agreement from the bar staff to do the tasting with full attention and service.

Very nice room, helpful staff, the hotel was well decorated and not looking ‘tired’ like so many hotels in a rural location. It was also nice and warm, unlike many similar hotels in winter. The breakfast was good and nicely presented.

The restaurant was closed during my first night but the hotel offered to assist with purchasing a “takeaway”. They did this but the establishments available were of lesser quality than the hotel. The bar meal I had on my second night was fair: the main restaurant being (understandably in winter) closed. Drinks prices are high at £7 a pint, to which 10% service charge is added if you have it served with a meal.

The Castle and grounds were wonderful. We stayed in the Castle Room with a View... incredible space and bath. Vijay and Joyce were both instrumental in making our stay better than comfortable; this was one of the best stops during our vacation. The living area was comfortable, with enough room to provide a comfortable space between other groups seated in the room. We ordered dinner one evening and a private table was setup for us in the huge room, in one of the big window. Breakfast was delicious and abundant. We had the most fun in the bar with Sam and Allison... one evening Sam ordering take-out for us to be delivered to the Castle, and then set a table for us in the bar; just fun! The castle was great, and the staff were wonderful.

If there was anything not to like, the staff handled it with perfection.

This place was great, incredibly attentive and friendly staff, comfy beds, amazing food, and a beautiful location. Really sorry to have to leave at the end of our stay, could have sat in front of the open fire with a glass of wine or whiskey all night! Brilliant hotel, really Scottish vibe about the place, tartan carpets, cosy four poster beds, big open fireplace with a fire blazing, Scottish food on the menu, just wonderful.

Nothing, apart from having to leave! All good things come to an end.

The room was spacious (suite). Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is quiet, surrounded by a small park. The luxurious castle-like ambiance is very attractive. The location is perfectly suited for exploring the North, Caingorms and even the West.

The Restaurant only serves a fixed selection of 3 starters and 3 main courses. if you stay more than one night this is simply not good enough. Also the quality of the food is not stable. once not seasoned at all, once way too salty (this was replaced and not charged, to be fair). The temperature in the dining room dropped to below 15 degrees centigrade for dinner. We complained twice and ultimately the heating was turned up after two days.

From the warm, friendly and helpful welcome we received upon our arrival through to the comfort of the mattress everything at Kincraig either matched or exceeded our expectations. Kincraig Castle Hotel is very conveniently situated on the A9 route thirty minutes north of Inverness. It is set well back from the road so traffic is neither seen nor heard. The grounds are very pleasant and afford views into the distance across fields to the south. The same view is seen from the dining room, bar and some bedrooms. The bedroom we had was very spacious with wardrobe, drawers, desk, two arm chairs, small table and TV. The bathroom was large and brightly decorated. Both rooms were well heated and most comfortable in March. The main lounge area was large with an open fire burning bright, a wide range of comfortable seating and decorated as well as furnished to a high standard. The restaurant was bright and cheerful with tables well spaced and excellent service from very positive, attentive staff. Food at dinner was very tasty and well presented with a short, but varied, menu. At breakfast there was a very good selection of cereals, fruit, compote, yoghurt, fruit juice, etc. The hot menu as well as the usual Scottish fare included a variety of other options including smashed avocado on toast with a very nice salsa, poached eggs and balsamic. We could have happily breakfasted here for several days! This was our first visit to Kincraig Castle Hotel but certainly not our last. The team who have taken over in 2023 are doing an outstanding job and long may they succeed.

We essentially stayed 'half board' (i.e. Dinner, B&B) booking dinner separately to our B&B accommodation booking. It was our wedding anniversary so thought we'd treat ourselves. From the moment we were greeted by Vejay to checking out the next morning with Joyce (who communicated very well throughout the booking process, answering any of our questions without hesitation), we felt we were treated first class all the way. Vejay took the time to show us around the ground floor function rooms so we knew where we would be coming for our dinner, and breakfast the next morning. On arriving to our room, there was a lovely card from the hotel wishing us a happy anniversary and a lovely stay. Vejay and Allison looked after us very well in the evening for our dinner and drinks. The food was cooked superbly and presentation was five star. Everything was delicious and generously portioned serves. Our bed was super comfy and the room was at a perfect temperature for our night's sleep (Autumn cooler temps outside, but you wouldn't know). We love Arran bath products, and that's what's supplied in the bathroom. We were delighted with every aspect of the bedroom and bathroom comforts and facilities. Raj looked after us for our breakfast, and again, superb service and food all the way. We can't wait to come back again!

The hotel is very nice—both our room and the common areas downstairs truly made us feel like we were in a castle. We also enjoyed some good vegan food in their restaurant. There was only one person working in the whole place, but they were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed over the Christmas holidays, and unfortunately, the hotel didn’t have enough staff. Our room wasn’t cleaned or serviced throughout our stay. The rooms are not soundproof, so we were woken up a few times by a loud neighbor. It’s probably a good idea to bring earplugs.

It’s very cliche to a castle. It’s cute and we had a good night there. Furnishings etc are exactly what you would expect from a “castle” / hotel. I believe most rooms were occupied, but only one staff member to do the bar, reception and deal with the guests, it was awkward at best.

We had a lot of trouble finding the place, which was a bit of an annoyance. The one staff member to deal with everything including the bar service. Restaurant being closed on Sundays and Mondays, we were booked in on Monday, so had to drive to town (15 minutes). It was peak tourist season, big mistake on the owners behalf. Was recommended a place to eat in town, which was a nice enough pub, but couldn’t enjoy a drink with dinner as needed to drive back to the hotel. Had a couple of drinks at the hotel, but had to constantly wait as the one staff member was dealing with people checking in, delivery drivers from the guests who “ordered in”. Needs improvement.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only small disappointment was that the porridge was not made from oatmeal.
