I would definitely revisit the Swan

The Décor was a little dated and could have done with a lick of paint, Bathroom: Sealant around the bath top and panela needs to be refreshed. The carpeting on the stairs and landing was dirty, but this may be due to contractors staying in the hotel with muddy shoes. but all in all, very positive stay.

The location is perfect, opposite to the Museum of Gorge. The staff is exceptional, very friendly. The bed is comfortable and the room spacious. Just minor improvements in the bathroom would be great, but these shall things didn’t spoil our stay. We had dinner at The Swan, it couldn’t be better. Amazing good, fair price. Spot on!

The bathroom needs some minor improvements: there is no towel rail, there is no way to hang the shower, as there is only a bath, the toilet seat is loose. Also, a reading lamp on the bedside would avoid having to get up of the bed to turn on/off the bedroom’s light.

Carl gave me an amazing welcome. The bed was very comfy, with a smart TV in the room and toiletries in the bathroom. I even had a pressing iron and ironing board. The room was very airy and faced the forest. Breakfast across the road was delicious and included with the room. There is a Coop shop just close by. And the legendary Ironbridge is within a walking distance from the hotel.

Regular bus services from the city centre stop serving the hotel area from as early as 7pm, so you'd need to trek for long distances or look for alternative transport if you're staying out late or returning late to the hotel.

The Swan Taphouse is a lovely quirky place, steeped in history. We had a large room (no 5) it had a reinforced glass panel (on the floor below it was a drying chamber/kiln for the old malt house). The Inn is in a fantastic location opposite The Gorge Museum and the River Severn. We found it to be comfortable, parking on site and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was provided at The Malthouse (2 doors down) - the staff and chef were very accommodating with our requirements (keto). Fantastic value for money. Definitely recommend and hope to come back next year.

From Check in to Check out this property was amazing. The location, the welcome,. the homely environment, the comfortable room facilities and a nice desk to work from (I was on business)and the staff so welcoming and friendly and 'nothing was too much for them' attitude (can't remember their names!). The breakfast at the Malthouse - only a couple of minutes walk - was probably the best I have ever had - comfortable venue, great service, superb food w3ith great local provevance sourced food. Simply the best!

Great location, great price, character property. I want to visit again and would book this again for sure. I'm looking forward to going back!

I can't really think of anything, to be honest. If you want corporate standards, don't bother. If you want character and nice kind people looking after with a decent place to stay, it's fine. The bed was a little squeaky, I couldn't move without it making a noise. I was going to get my tools from the car to tighten things up ...but I fell asleep!

Good location, good parking, nice welcoming staff, good bar and meal selections and great breakfast at hotel next door. Comfortable well appointed room with large bathroom.

Room decor was tired and bathroom was very jaded with shabby fixtures and 1970s tiling. Was not advised a live band would be playing that evening which sounded as if it was in the room with us starting at 2015 and going on until 2245. We had asked if it was a quiet room and been advised it was as we'd wanted an early night!!

The room was a little tired looking but clean. A bit of a shock not to have a shower, bath with a hand held shower head, no curtain or screen! Restaurant food was amazing..sadly the bar/restaurant toilets in The Swan were very poor Broken tiles no locks Outside area also needs better cleaning Breakfast in sister pub The Malthouse 100 yards away was excellent Great live music Fri and Sat night

It was a really cosy room. They bed was a small double so plenty of room to spread out. A wonderful cosy duvet with the freshest cotton sheets I've experienced in a long time. The TV had Netflix etc so no need for my computer. The location is central. Exceptional breakfast. The best I've ever had whilst travelling . It represented excellent value for money. In fact it was even cheaper than the Travelodge I stayed in the night before. Even without breakfast it would have been good value so that was an added bonus

The shower in my room was very small. If you like pies or are a little curvy you may struggle. It's in a pub so expect some noise. I was on the 1st floor and didn't find it a problem but bear that in mind. The hallway and landing look tired and could do with a freshen up. Once again this didn't affect my stay but some people may judge them for that

Great location only a 5 minute walk to the Ironbridge. Quirky very old building with wonky floors and ceilings and low doors. Staff were first class, in particular Jack who was an absolute star. We had an evening meal which was very tasty and not too expensive. We had breakfast included, which was taken in the next door pub "The Malthouse". This again was first class both in composition and quality. .

My only (very slightly negative) observations were that some of the communal areas were a little shabby, and our rooms bathroom was dated. However, there was work being done and I believe it's part of a larger refurbishment project.
