Lovely staff, so friendly. Great location for me personally (family living 5 mins away). Room was really nicely decorated, I liked the historical photos on the wall of the square that the pub is located in. Room had everything I needed for a two night stay. Bathroom was nice and spacious. Good shower. Bed was comfortable and hospitality tray was fully stocked. Nice choices for breakfast and staff very accommodating. We had a couple of drinks in the pub early evening and the atmosphere was really nice. I would definitely recommend and go back to stay again.

The place was in a good location as it was quiet and there was loads of parking out the front. The place its self was lovely, nicely decorated and the staff were welcoming. My room was nicely decorated and seemed to be clean. It did have a bath tub and a shower you could hold to have a shower which is annoying but first world problems!

Breakfast was included and it was ok, the sausages weren't that nice but personal preference. I would have liked some sort of 'menuhin what I could have had rather than just think on my feet. That's not for me in the morning!

The staff were welcoming and friendly. Very popular with the locals but there were also visitors who were attending a music concert at The Town Hall. Spotlessly clean room and comfortable bed. Plenty of tea, coffees and milk in the room along with biscuits and hot chocolate sachets. The meals being served in the evening seemed good-sized portions and looked appetizing. We had breakfast which was lovely. Plenty of choice: cereals, croissants, yogurts, breakfast bars, porridge and fruit, orange juice, tea and coffee to order. Good choice of cooked breakfast including Eggs Benedict and full English.

Our room was on the front and there is a street light outside the window which meant that our room wasn't dark enough at night as the blackout curtains didn't quite fit the whole of the bay window which is an original window. I did mention it next morning and did stress how comfortable the bed had been and all the other positives.

The wife and I both had a lovely evening meal on the second night as they didn’t do evening meals on the Sunday. The breakfast was excellent as we had stayed there on a previous visit to the area we knew what to expect. Nothing was too much trouble. *****.

The only negative thing was that the George doesn’t have a lift, but as it is a listed building there is only so much they could do to keep the character of a beautiful building.

The staff were friendly and helpful. I was served promptly and cheerfully as a single diner although the place was heaving with families enjoying a Father's Day meal. The bedroom was spacious with a good view over the town square. Breakfast was prepared for me in the morning and was everything I could wish for.

Only a few niggles. In the en-suite the toilet seat was not quite in the right position and the mirror was awkwardly placed. But everything worked fine.

Lovely warm welcome. Bedroom on top floor. Not the biggest, but more than adequate. Lovely and clean and welcoming. Bedlinen was pristine white and amazing. Duvet so soft and really nice fluffy towels. Bathroom fittings to highest standard. Good tea/coffee facilities. Had a beautiful Sunday lunch just after we arrived. All waiting staff were friendly and the food was delicious. Breakfast was also excellent. Lovely waitress, very good choice. Food was very nice. Would recommend a stay here.

We would have liked to have been able to have an evening meal on the Sunday, so we could go out for the afternoon when we arrived, but not a huge problem as we had only decided to go away and booked a few hours before. To be fair to the hotel, we did received an email advising of the food times for the Sunday, but didn't see this until after we arrived.

Breakfast was really good - made to order after choosing from a menu. Room was a family room - double bed with a single also and private shower/ bathroom. Was a bit noisy outside and also with other guests walking past outside corridor.

Having option for an earlier check in would have suited us better as we had to do an extra drop off with the car rather than driving to hotel direct. Would also have been useful to give guests an extra bit of info re local events like big concerts/ horse racing events making booking a taxi back in the evening after our event very tricky. (Clearly not the fault of the venue but would be an extra bonus bit of info for future guests to think about.)

our room on the first floor was on route to the Kitchen and it was as if a herd of wild animals were stomping past on a very regular basis, this was the staff delivering food , check your room booking and move up stairs!!!!!!!!!! Breakfast was a shambles, very slow service and terrible tasting food ( greasy) , tables not laid up food order was wrong, but to wait for correction would have taken to long . No parking, it’s public car park opposite if there’s a space ( pain)

Spotlessly clean, fantastic pub with amazing food. Staff were very attentive, room was large with lots of room and a great window to people watch from. Indian, chip shop and bakery only a few steps from the hotel.

For a village square it is very noisy and busy 24/7 through the day and night. Lots of noise from 5.30am onwards. The 24 hour shop facing the hotel is a blessing and a curse again due to noise sadly

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food at the pub was amazing, we had dinner and breakfast here and it was some of the nicest food we have had. Reasonably priced. The room was nice and bright and spacious. Nice little village.

Everything was lovely but if I had to pick something I would say that for personal preference the mattress was a little hard, however this could be perfect for the next person, so not really a big point.
