Loved pretty much everything- amazing location, characterful building (yet tastefully modernised inside), helpful staff, all very relaxed and easy. Our particular accommodation was perfect for our kayaking trip - private outside space for drying the boats and a huge living area with space for all the paraphernalia. Kayakers might like to know that the town slipway is directly adjacent to The Riverside’s garden and can be accessed through the gate at the far end of the car park - it’s a very good launching spot.

Nothing to dislike - it felt like really good value for money.

We really liked our stay at The Riverside. The food and drink were reasonably priced. We stayed in a family room, which was spacious and clean and very comfortable. The view from the beer garden is fantastic, right on the River Thames, where you can view people enjoying themselves on the boats and pedalos.

The car park is small and busy. There are limited spaces. We waited for 40 minutes, circling the car park to try and get parked, That is the only criticism I had. I think if you have booked to stay at The Riverside, they should reserve x amount of spaces for staying guests.

Wonderfully situated on the bank of the river Thames it was perfect to apply the kayak for a nice two-hours trip upstream and float down again and have a shower, good food an local beer afterwards before sleeping in the small but very cosy one-bed chamber in the attic. I'll book it again next time.

The only thing was my tiny (thank god I am a thin person of only 1,8 m in height) bathroom across the floor, which needs a window or a working ventilation system (there is indeed one installed). But it is not unlikely that I simply didn't find the right switch since they are partly in the corridor or hidden elsewhere. I admit I could have asked.

Our third time staying at the Riverside. Location beautiful, we’ve stayed in the same room twice and it works really well for our family. Room is spotless, beds comfortable. The restaurant is lovely we had breakfast one day and drinks by the river in the afternoon.

Carpet in the room looking a bit shabby, the small kitchen area could do with a refresh! Could do with some different lighting in the lounge area, a lamp would have been good rather than having the full light on at night.

Olde worldly pub situated on the river Thames. We were lucky enough on the day we arrived to be able to sit in the beer garden having a drink next to the river. Served basic evening meals that were ok. Be warned they only serve breakfast on a Friday and Saturday had I known this in advance I wouldn’t have stayed there. Worked out an expensive 2 night stay that we personally didn’t think it was worth the money we paid. No problem in finding a parking space possibly due to the time of year. We had a ground floor room that was ok but decor needed attention in some parts. Bathroom mainly, paint peeling off the wall and in the shower ( which was excellent) the grouting was black in places. 2 chairs were in the room which was a bonus ( I will never understand why when you book a double room you only get one chair) however after a while I found them uncomfortable.

It would have been nice if there was a hand rail in the shower, a vanity mirror above the dressing table, and better blinds. They did not sit right when pulled down and as there was a bright light in the garden on all night this reflected shards of bright light through the sides of the blinds into the room. As we left early we needed to out our key in the mailbox outside the reception ( as it didn’t open until 10am) we search everywhere that seemed obvious but couldn’t find it 🤔 eventually I found the box only after moving a very large hanging basket!

Our second stay at riverside, we come to the area once a year to see family. This year the room we were given was perfect for our family. Completely unexpected but we had a room with two bedrooms and a lounge area. We were travelling with out two children a 4 year old and 8 month old. It was a really pleasant surprise that our daughter could have her own room and we could sit in the lounge area at night without disturbing the children. Having the pub right next door is an added bonus, beautiful breakfast and able to order drinks to take back to our room (much needed after a long stressful journey with a poorly baby)

Small issues room could have done with a refresh and tv reception poor though nextflix available

It was part of a pub located right on the River Thames. The room was small but beds were comfortable and it had the usual kettle and hot drink facilities.

It was slightly shabby in places, broken plug chains in the bathroom and some chips off the painted walls which is a shame but importantly it was clean and tidy. Breakfast wasn’t included which was a surprise, but there was a very nice cafe adjacent so not a deal breaker. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the pub food was good.

The room was spacious, comfortable, modern and very good value for money. Separated from the pub in individual buildings allowed for a quieter stay. Generous coffee and tea making facilities in the room. Nice to have quality toiletries. Large, hot shower. Large TV with access to freeview/Netflix etc. Excellent wifi. Staff generally friendly. Motorbike parking on hashed areas prevented car parking charges. Old building/pub in Riverside location with good access to riverside walks, kayaking and the village facilities Wonderful riverside breakfast, good portions and value for money.

Quality of the accomodation didn't match the lack of quality in the pub. Limited bar menu choices. No starters, very limited puddings. Last orders on a Saturday were 9.30pm, pub shut at 10.00pm. Disappointing for a night away when we wished to enjoy the old pub environment. Old fashioned way of running a food service.

An idyllic position overlooking the Thames river. The rooms were spacious, plenty of towels, soaps shower gels et.. The tea and coffee and condiments left for guests was outstanding. They’ve definitely put creature comforts first. The food was fresh, tasty and a decent quantity to fill a gap. As for the bar staff. Nothing short of perfect. Welcoming, friendly, both had fantastic senses of humour. They made the six of us feel at home. Thank you. To the young lady who served our drinks. All I’ll say is “Yorkshire”. She is a credit to the hotel and a perfect example of a good staff member.

Nothing apparent.

We booked a family room but we got a lovely two bedroom apartment. There was no fridge or cooking facilities but I hadn’t booked an apartment so this was fine. The location was great. It was quiet and comfortable. It was great to have the little sitting room area to have when my children went off to bed

It would have been great if there was a fridge in the room. The rooms were extremely warm with no air conditioning. The bathrooms were very basic.
