The bed and pillows were really comfy and the water pressure/heat of the water in the shower were amazing. The staff were really friendly and helpful and let us check in early which was brilliant on Christmas Day! We got a really great night's sleep here and would happily return when we are next in the area.

The payment system was weird and felt very scammy (despite being perfectly legit!) as we were sent emails with links directing us to pay there instead and told our booking would be cancelled if we didn't. There was only one towel and one mug etc left out.

Check-in is at 16:00; however, I was due at the wedding for then. I emailed the inn prior to explain I would be travelling for two hours and didn't want to drive in my wedding attire; therefore, could I arrive a hour early to freshen up, change, and go to the venue. The landlord responded and assured me they would clean the room, I was due to have, first, so I could check-in early. In the end I checked in earlier than planned, which was fine, sorted myself out, and arrived at the wedding in time to see the bride arrive. The room was absolutely stunning and well presented. The shower with instant hot water was great, both upon arrival and the following morning. The rear carpark has plenty of space and is right next to the accommodation, so I didn't disturb anyone when returning in the early hours. If I am back in this neck of the woods again, I wouldn't hesitate to see if they have availability. I truly loved it!

Initially I couldn't work out the heating control, so when I returned it was a bit chilly; HOWEVER, once I turned the radiator on......🤦🏻‍♂️.........,the room was roasting within five minutes.

The Old Bear Inn is very conveniently situated not far from the Cotswold Water Park where we attend a family BBQ each year. We have stayed there 4 times so far. The staff are always pleasant and helpful, the rooms and linens are clean, the beds comfortable, and have sufficient coffee and tea making supplies.

We have stayed in 3 different rooms and the only time it was noisy was when our room was above the bar and they had a customer who had had too much to drink. Even after the pub was closed he spent time banging on the door wanting to get in - not the fault of the publican!

I wanted a comfortable, clean bed for the night in a small village just off the A419. The Old Bear ticked all the boxes. I did not need breakfast. The bathroom was spotless and shower was really good. Good size room and plenty of space around the bed. The price was spot on for what i needed.

I was a man travelling on his own and so was happy to walk into a bar full of local people watching football, to ask for a key over the bar. I am not sure all travellers would have felt as comfortable as I did.

The host was very welcoming, the room had everything we needed, 3 comfortable single beds, nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and the shower room was lovely. All linen supplied and toiletries. The access was great via an iron staircase and straight from a pub car park which felt very safe for the car. We could not fault it and I’ve paid a lot more money for expensive hotels and had a far worse experience. The village is lovely and there are plenty of places to grab food as the pub doesn’t do food.

Good sized room and bathroom. Spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and made for a good night's sleep. The host was very friendly and helpful, and although the room was over the main bar, the noise levels were perfectly fine and didn't bother us at all. The Old Bear is in a nice little town, with plenty shops and restaurants near by. Small car parking area at the rear was ideal. For the price it was well worth it.

Nothing to dislike.

This is a traditional local pub with loads of atmosphere. We stayed one night while walking the Thames path. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The shower was large with loads of hot water and we were able to dry our clothes. I thought it was very good value for money.

The pub did not do food but you could order in and there are other places to eat in the town. It was not a problem for us.

would have been great to have been told how to get into car park before arriving. Open shelves and hanging rail in room woudl have been better than twee wardrobe. more storage space in bathroom would be good. shelf in shower to hold shower gell woudl be useful

Excellent value and very comfortable facilities. Suited us perfectly.

On returning to our room late at night, the rear drive entrance was very dark and one of us fell over (resulting in a knee injury) where there was a puddle and a pot hole/uneven surface in the gravel. I would suggest a sensory light that would illuminate the driveway.

Nice location and great parking to the rear of the pub. It was good that the room had its own “front door” access. Room was very clean and super cosy! I loved the homely decor because it made it feel as if I was staying in someone’s home and not a hotel.

My only criticism was that the curtains were not black-out enough. The unfortunate thing is, there is a really bright street lamp right outside the window and it’s shining through the curtains as you try to get to sleep.
