Superb location!!! Beautiful surroundings, quiet , sheltered and peaceful but with far-reaching views across a valley. Old, characterful buildings set in extensive grounds and complete privacy. Also quite easy to get to by road and close to amenities in Llandovery. Good wi-fi, too. Breakfast served in a separate characterful room with exposed roof timbers. No cooked breakfast available, but Tamar prepares a delicious selection of fruit and pastries for each guest, along with the cereals, tea, coffee, toast etc to guarantee a tasty and filling start to the day.

Nothing really. The hosts are around and easy to talk to and keen to ensure guests enjoy their stay. Had I found something I didn’t like, I’m sure it would have been sorted!

The location in beautiful S. Wales countryside, with a small lake surrounded by well-managed, accessible, ancient woodland, within 5-10 minutes walk. Accommodation in comfortably refurbished farm buildings. Breakfast was great, not cooked, but with our host directly on hand to provide fresh coffee and tea, fresh toast and croissants etc. The space where we ate was ideal, a large room with a table around which all the 6 or 7 members in our group could sit and chat. Our host was very friendly and attentive, and I especially liked the eco-consciousness permeating every aspect of the B&B provision.

Accepting that I felt perfectly ok with it not being a cooked breakfast, there was almost nothing that I didn't like. I maybe would recommend total blackout curtains in the rooms, even if I solved the problem of window blinds that let in a little too much light by following our host's suggestion and hanging an extra towel over them.

Pleasant out of the way B&b in rural Wales. Lovely lady who runs the business and bakes the breakfast muffins. Parking on the flat concrete outside gravel was great for a motorcycle. Shower was great after a day in the saddle. Small rocking horse chairs were okay to watch TV at night. Loads of wardrobe space for bike kit was much appreciated. Wifi reception was superb.

I have reflux problems so can't eat the blueberry muffins at breakfast. But 1st morning Tamar let me make my own breakfast of poached eggs on brown toast. I did share a recipe for acid free muffins with Tamar and she did try this out on me the next morning. Unfortunately they didn't work out so a little bit of tummy trouble for me on the way home. I should have stuck with the poached eggs. Also first evening was a bit cool but ok as we wore our bike kit linings and fleeces to keep warm while watching TV. Both nights we walked into town as the weather was dry. Be aware that there is no pavement and be wary of the mini drivers who think they are in a rally. It's a 40 minute walk so maybe better to take your car and park at the castle car park before you have your evening meal.

We really enjoyed a few nights here whilst visiting the Brecon Beacons. Tamar and her family were such nice hosts and made us feel very welcome and looked after. The breakfasts with homemade muffins were a highlight, as was a walk through the woodland on-site, full of bluebells. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Overall we found the B&B perfect for those walking in the area/looking for a home away from home. We would definitely stay again if visiting nearby!

Whilst there was some noise from adjacent rooms we had anticipated this in a converted building so wasn’t an issue.

Everything about my stay was ideal: the directions given, initial welcome and continuing friendly interaction without being intrusive, comfortable cosy quiet ultra clean accommodation, lovely high ceilinged breakfast room, walks on the estate, easy access to town. Highly recommended and I'm looking forward to going back

One small drawback is the slightly lower than 3 metre ceilings in the rooms. For guests interested in morning stretches and exercises there is a lovely stone courtyard just outside though

The host was very helpful even before we arrived, with messages about arrival and route, even offering to pick us up if need be on her school run. The place was easy to find, and there was plenty of space to park. The room was a good size - very nice to have 2 armchairs. The shower was good, and it was all very cosy. The grounds were delightful - we had a lovely walk round the lake and through the woods. It would be super in warmer weather to sit in the courtyard garden in the evening and/or in the morning with breakfast, as the views are wonderful. Breakfast was an excellent continental style, with plenty of choice, and fresh fruit served beautifully in a lovely room. It's a great area for walking, and there were maps to borrow of the local areas. Llandovery is a short drive away, where we were able to eat in the evening, and where there is an excellent ice cream cafe.

The walls between the rooms are thin (the conversion being done some years ago I understand) so there was some noise from the next room on one evening. Ear plugs were provided, although we didn't use them as it wasn't very loud or for very long, and didn't stop us getting to sleep.

This was a gorgeous property with lovely staff. The room was cosy with good facilities. Our favourite part was the home cooked continental breakfast, the muffins were incredible and there was a great selection of foods. We were also lucky enough to be the only people staying here, but even if it was full there were few enough rooms that the stay would still have been cosy and private.

Nothing, our stay was fantastic.

I liked the ambience and that the room which was surprisingly spacious, was part of a converted cowshed which meant walking in straight off the courtyard. Lovely dining room and great continental breakfast . Beautiful lake with boardwalk and places to sit. My husband was able to go round in his electric wheelchair which was a real bonus. Tamara, our host, does her utmost to be eco friendly so almost no use of plastic. All toiletries are in refillable bottles and are produced ethically and locally . The information pack in the room was excellent and the description on the website was accurate. It is a unique B & B with a wonderful character. Very welcoming and relaxed. Perfect for travellers who don't want to stay in a characterless hotel chain.

The television was very small, high up on the wall which made it difficult to read any information unless sitting really close. However, watching it wasn't a high priority.

Gorgeous rooms lovely comfy beds, the BEST breakfast muffins freshly baked, really ethically conscious hosts about their sustainability. Such a great place. Suprise goodbye from a friendly pair of sheep just completed the trip. Really wanted to stay another night.

Nothing! Keep going, i know they have some more plans for growing their own fruit and introducing more recycling options so you cant fault them for growing.

it is a beautiful unique location, everything was done ethically and sustainably. The room was clean, fresh and stayed cool even in a hot night. We loved the toiletries, specially the shampoo. Tamar was an excellent host, from welcoming us when we arrived to making us feeling really relaxed as well as the excellent breakfast and fantastic suggestion of places to see locally for walks and food choices. We also got local produce from Tamar little Welsh’s dresser shop, and she offered us some of her local grown veg. We couldn’t be happier with our stay.
