Whole feeling of the place was great - staff were lovely and friendly, location was within walking distance of town and the beds were comfortable, rooms were also spacious (we stayed 5 nights). Sunday carvery was amazing for a family meal and breakfast was good too. I think we got discount food as we were staying there, and meals were really good value as a result. We had our three grown up boys with us too - and it was really comfortable to go and catch up int e bar area, play pool or darts etc.... Right next door is a Jenkins bakery (amazing vanilla slices) and also a barber shop - handy for a quick haircut. Would definitely stay there again.

No shampoo or conditioner in the shower!! we had to go out and buy some. No fridge in the room - just a small one to keep milk for tea and coffee would have been great. The rooms were dated in fixtures and fittings, and minor work would fix things like broken lamps.

Had a wonderful night’s sleep. Friendliness and professionalism of staff were both above high standard. Good safe security and fire regulations. I shall be staying again and recommending to friends x

Room scents in the main areas. Like all hotels since the smoking ban of 2007, eventhough this was a vital move for physical health of staff and guests, the main smell we have nowadays is that of food. So Can we add a firm eucalyptus or pine room fragrance to the communal areas ??

We stayed at Thomas Arms in Llanelli for 4 nights. The assistent manager and manager were very kind and very hard working men. They were super friendly. Rooms were good. Meals (we had breakfast and dinner) were great. We had lots of tea (ha ha, we are in Wales, so we really had to drink Welsh tea). Overall, you really have to go to Thomas Arms. Friendly, hard working staff. The location is very good and close to the old city centre. Trostre is about 30 minutes walk away. We had a good stay. Thank you very much. We forgot to ask your names (assistent manager and manager). We live far away but i know we will visit for a dinner or breakfast again this year. See you.

Everything was super! We liked everything.

Room spacious, comfortable bed. Nice size bath and great shower. Room clean and linen,towels provided very clean . Location very good near to the shops and bars. Near to Llanelli beach and cycling track which we done an 18 mile bike ride. Also if you like fishing plenty of places to go. Carmarthen not far away. All the staff at The Thomas Arms were very friendly, helpful and the food was very good. John and Jamie were very polite, pleasant and made us very welcome. We would definitely stay here again. The bar area is excellent. The room was a good size, comfortable bed, large bath. Good water pressure, plenty of hot water. Comfortably heated. Good menu, good food well done, good choice of drinks. Easy walk to town. Very pleasant staff always genuinely helpful.

It's a town hotel so views not so good and traffic noise can be a problem, not for me as I sleep like the dead. Could have done with a few more staff. Whole place looking a wee bit tired. Car park, a trail to get in and out of. Could do with some hooks to hang coats etc and coat hangers in the wardrobe would be nice. Main light was a very low wattage bulb so the room was not well lit. Bathroom fitted for soaps/shampoo but not with. Smoking areas in front of entrance doors, or a balcony, but when they don't shut the door, may as well be sitting in the bar. Sometimes you have to go through a wall of smoke to get in and out, which I hate with a vengeance. Hence it affected my ratings.

Price and location is good for a weekend night out, we live a short drive away, so it was good to be able to drink and stay overnight. I will return for more nights in future.

It wasn't a big deal, but the booking in system passwords did not work for the receptionist. It took a few phone calls to sort out the technical issue. I waited patiently but I was concerned about my time, and getting to where I needed to be on time.

This is a good hotel in a good location with free on site parking at a very affordable price.. The room was very clean and the bedding was very good quality. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant and bar. The food is standard pub grub.

It's a bit tired around the edges. Some of the lights in our room didn't work and the shower curtain is a throwback to a different age.

Restaurant and bar below the hotel. Did not stay for breakfast, went to have a meal on the second evening but the kitchen had shut just before 10pm. There was a karaoke night in the bar, but could not hear a noise upstairs in the room. All staff so friendly, really helpful. We had to stay another night unexpectedly, and the staff price matched the room to online sites. Couldn’t ask for a better experience for a last minute booking. Clean room, free parking, friendly staff.

The location was good, lots of local pubs about and a 10 minute walk to the shopping centre, 20 minutes to the beach area. Bed was comfortable, the bath was great with taps you can adjust with your feet, if you know you know 😉. Plenty clothes space, lots of coffee & T making stuff, bedside lights were good as well. The restaurant was nicely laid out, the menu was one of the best I've ever seen, with good healthy options i.e. burger with no bun or chips but side salad, which was excellent by the way. Toilets were nice and clean, bar area well laid out with a well looked after pool table. Car park a bit tight but did the job. Staff were always polite, but run off their feet, I think there was a large table in, so that usually causes problems, trying to get so much food out at the same time is not easy. They should adopt, ordering food at the bar, in both areas, it would just make life that bit easier for everyone, or use an app maybe.

All small stuff, nothing to write home about. Had to move rooms as ours had no hot water. Original room needed some decorative TLC anyway. Second room better than the first but no nets at the window, which my wife pointed out as I was stood there with nowt on, my apologies to the neighbors 🤦‍♂️. Bathroom, shelf above the sink just to low, bend over to rinse your face and you bang your head on the shelf - ouch. Room keys were a bit of a pain, as they did not work sometimes, going up and down the stairs 3 time in succession is no fun at my age, had to have medicinal beer to recover..

We had a nice welcome on booking in. Yes this hotel is a little outdated, however the best night sleep for ages. The bed was so comfortable. The room was a nice size and clean. We had a few beers and an evening meal, which was lovely, food piping hot and tasty, I had the ultimate burger, did not disappoint. Had everything we needed for a night stay. The lady at breakfast was friendly and served a lovely breakfast. I will definitely stay here again.

Decor a little outdated but did not spoil the stay
