Really clean, great location. Easy check-in with friendly staff. Everything ready in the room on arrival.

The room was pretty incredibly hot. There were two fans and it still wasn’t enough to combat just how hot it was.

The location is great (quick walk to tube and buses), the building is new enough, the reception area is nice and inviting (we had a few meals there), the staff was friendly and also quick on check-in/check-out times. I liked that there are vending machines and also a water bottle refil station. Didn't use the self catering facilities, but my friend did and it's nice to know it's an option. The available breakfast is also a nice, though simple, option to fuel up for the day.

The beds were not uncomfortable, but they were definitely noisy. Also, we booked a room for women only, but it was clear there were men in the room right next door who we had to share a toilet and shower with (it would really be great to see some more thought there since many women choose women only rooms to feel safe). It would also be good for the building to have a second lift since there are five floors, but that's more of a plus than a necessity.

The location and staff were what we noticed first. Unbeatable! The reception staff were really engaging and helpful. We were 5 minutes walk from all the shops and pubs near Oxford Circus but actually on a quiet street if that makes sense. We booked a four bed dorm with a bathroom for the three of us. The room was small but clean and functional. Each bed had a reading light and a charging port. There were extra lounge and kitchen/meals areas to use which is pretty standard with a large hostel and most people we came across were up for a chat. There was also a local Tesco place around the corner open late if needed. Felt safe walking around the neighbourhood late at night no problems.

The mattresses were on the slim side, but not unexpected in a hostel setting.

The female dormitory was clean and calm, I could have a rest after a longer trip. The location is perfect, just by the Soho. Groceries are in less than 2 minutes. The staff was kind, fun and helpful, including the cleaning personelles. The hostel gives you access to a storaging room if you are arriving/leaving befora/after the check-in/out. :)

I wish there would be one sharp knife in the kitchen. :) The WiFi in the lobby was strong, enough even for work. However in other areas (like the kitchen or the rooms) it was much less stable. Which is fine in general, but if you're a digital nomad and you need some calmer space around you, the lobby is a bit too crazy to work in.

I liked the location of the hostel. Of all the sites I wanted to see, this one was in between most of them and within a reasonable walking distance. There were also three different underground stations a person could stop at and get to the hostel. They had a big neon green sign outside the hostel which was easy to spot once you found the right street. The beds were comfortable and my room had a private bathroom and shower. There was also an elevator at the property, 24hr front desk, free luggage storage. Each bed also has a personal plug for your phone and a little shelf to rest it on.

I did not like the little shelf above the bathroom sink as it was in the way and made brushing teeth and washing my face difficult without getting a bunch of water splashes on the floor. I also disliked the pillows (much too thin) and the GIANT personal light each bunk had. When on, it lit up the whole room enough that would make a light sleeper protest. If the bunks were enclosed with curtains, it wouldn't be an issue. The lights could be much smaller while still providing enough light for that one person to see by. The breakfast was also not worth the money, in my opinion (very, very basic). I would have also liked a map of the location with popular landmarks noted and told which undergrounds are best for getting back to the hostel.

Wine/Beer/Snacks/Laundry/hygiene/chargers available. Lovely nice accommodating staff

Roommate demanded I turn off/ get off my phone because light was making her not be able to sleep. I had no sound on. And I feel like eye masks should be provided & it stated in the rules that people should be accommodating to others using their electronic devices if they’re being courteous. Such as using headphones or not having sound on. I didn’t want to deal with the confrontation. Also no designated luggage space in the room for each bunk. Not ideal as some roommates had zero personal boundaries or courtesy.

Amazing location!! I watched a lot of West End shows and it’s about a 20-25 minute walk from the hostel, but it’s definitely worth it. Comfy beds, and lots of self catering facilities so you can cook your own food which was really convenient. Most of my roommates were friendly and the staff were also super nice and helpful.

There was no aircon and the whole building hasn’t got very good airflow so even with the fans provided it was still very hot and sweaty even though it was cooler outside. The YHA Kabannas was much cooler even though I stayed on a higher floor, so it might just be due to the amount of people/location of the building.

The location, the friendly staff, liked the amenities, cleanliness, liked the breakfast, though there was no porridge on that specific day for some reason. It’s really good that they’re staffed 24/7, despite on what was said in my emails when I booked my stay. I really liked to see families there, even with small babies. I am now thinking to get a family room for myself and spend a few days with my family in the center of London.

The only thing that bothered me a bit was the squeaky bed. Whenever I turned from one side to another or just onto my back, it was too loud and squeaky, probably waking up the rest in the room.

Pros: - Close proximity to the city center and vibrant neighborhoods like Soho. - Conveniently located near a metro station. - Option to book a private bedroom and private restroom. - Option to book a towel for the whole stay at a cheap price. Convenient to save space in the luggage. It would be nice to have it included in the room booking, but I understand it helps reducing costs. - Free tap water refill at the lobby - The place felt secure. - Friendly staff

Cons: - The room felt like an oven, especially when all four of us were there simultaneously. Although this was likely due to the unusual London climate during my stay (28-33°C), the air circulation in the room was not great. While a fan was provided to help mitigate the heat, it was too loud (52 dB at its lowest setting), making it difficult to sleep. This left us with a tough choice: either endure the heat or try to get used to the noise. - The floor under the beds could have been cleaned better, as there was a significant amount of dust.

Great location and only a bit more expensive than a lot of other hostels that are much less central. I absolutely loved the neighbourhood as well, despite being near touristy areas it was actually so quiet and the streets are beautiful with many little cafes and restaurants to check out. I found the bed to be comfy and there was a big fan in the room which was helpful with the heat. Everything was very clean here too. If you have to leave your luggage before check in/after check out they have a communal luggage room you can use which is great!

There were only really a couple small detail things. There aren’t any lockers in the rooms big enough for your bag, only tiny boxes (could fit only small electronics like a camera) that you can lock if you bring a padlock. I had to just leave my iPad in my bag under the bed which was fine but just not ideal. This hostel also didn’t strike me as being particularly social but I was only there for a couple nights so I may not have known about possible group outings etc.
