We spent a fantastic week. The room is luxuriously furnished and offers plenty of space and comfort. Added to that is the fantastic view of the sea. Parking is very good. You can park right in front of the house. The breakfast is excellent. Everything is freshly prepared and you can choose from a large and varied selection. Mike is a very friendly and helpful host. The accommodation is ideal for a longer stay. And if you want to leave your car behind, you can easily explore the surrounding sights and the area by bus or train. We will definitely come back. On entering there was a cake which said pls help yourself with plates & napkins. We had large room Double bed with sofa bed & onsuite. Double balcony facing sea . Standard of room was 10/10 u couldn't fault the room if u tried. Mirrored furniture, egg swing chair ,fridge with fresh milk & water for Costa coffee machine 😋 👌 Galaxy hot chocolate & cookies 🍪 After a lovely sleep quite & felt safe me & my daughter couldn't wait for breakfast. 10/10 if u don't believe my review I suggest u book to find out . We will defo be bk soon 😃 😃

I didn't like I couldn't find property in dark maybe bigger signs .

I have been in hospitality industry in one capacity or another for over 40years and I have stayed in some amazing places worldwide .I would rate Yew tree House in the top 5 and at its pricepoint No 1. The owners had thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable and more importantly easy as took our dog along with us. As there was a wooden floor in the room we booked I would recommend taking a blanket for dog to lie on as we did as I didn't want to disturb anyone which worked well and even had her own dog treat left in room for her. Breakfast choice was great and running until 10 you can lie in if you want as bed so comfy.View from our window on top floor Rm4 was great as you could see whole seafront vista. If my partner had been more able and we had longer to explore area we could have Def just parked car up and used buses to get about but due to my work commitments it was unfortunately a flying visit. I will Def return to this gem

A return visit to Yew Tree House & even better than the first as we stayed an extra night this time which gave us a longer to appreciate all the little touches make this property outstanding, like the fresh milk & water cooled in the mini-fridge in your room, fresh cake available on arrival to enjoy with that first welcome cup of tea, an amazing cooked & very well presented breakfast with additional options of fruit, cereal, yogurt & pastries; dressing gowns & the torch in your bedroom. Breakfast is also served until 10am so not too early a start when on 'holiday'. The hosts are warm & welcoming & the room spotlessly clean. Parking on the driveway immediately in front of the property & self check-in makes everything so easy. It's not far to walk into town & there seems to be plenty of buses passing on the main road at the bottom of the hill to different destinations for those wishing to opt for public transport.

Everything was absolutely perfect. Tip.... an eye mask if you like a dark room, as the morning sun is bright; not at all a negative just a tip 😉

The room was amazing the little personal touches were so lovely and way beyond expectation. The breakfast was truly the best I've ever had. The wonderfully lovely host was so informative and helpful. The place was spotless and the balcony was a gorgeous touch.

The people above us were awake and loud from 6.30am, not the fault of the hotel at all but if you want a quiet experience the top floor is probably the way to go.The dining room was a little snug, which would have been no problem but one of the other couples clearly did not like that dogs were allowed in there, it's made clear that they are allowed so again, not the fault of the hotel but a clear 'dogs allowed' sign may help🙂

The fact the bathroom was a separate room so we had to walk outside our room onto the landing to go in and out of the bathroom. I didnt realise private bathroom meant separate lol but for the price I'm not complaining it was still lovely. Just to mention, that's only 1 room that has this. The others are en suite but I wouldn't let it put anyone off

We could not fault the accommodation, which exceeded all our expectations. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and had quality tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk instead of UHT cartons, fresh fruit on the table, and help yourself cake on arrival. The host was fantastic and had gone to great lengths to make the stay perfect. An excellent breakfast cooked fresh in the morning and served to the table surpassed most large hotel groups. In fact this guest house set a standard that other guest houses should try to follow.

Loved every minute. Brilliant location overlooking the sea, with the seafront only a few minutes walk away. The breakfast was always excellent and cooked to order. The room we stayed in at the very top of the house didn't have a balcony, however it didn't need one as the large window opens right out to the amazing view. Very friendly host, always important. Loved the breakfast room with it's brilliant teapots and the pictures on the wall made us smile. Bed in our room was very comfortable. The bathroom was next door to our room which was fine as you get the whole floor to yourself. No bath in our bathroom, but the shower was fine. The house itself has some history (though it feels very modern).... Found a picture online from a few decades back, attached to this review.

Breakfast was excellent - great choices, especially noteworthy are the home-made granola and the home-made sourdough bread. Delicious! Thank you for such a great start to our day. Enjoyed the tea, coffee and hot chocolate and biscuits in the room and loved the very welcome yummy cake when we arrived. Thank you. Silly me left a jacket behind in the wardrobe (hadn't checked there before we left) and the host kindly rang to say he had left it in the porch for me to collect. Really, really appreciated that.

The only reason we don't mark this highest is that our room did not have ensuite facilities. This was not apparent when we made the reservation. It was not really a suitable room for us as we had to go into a 'public' hallway to reach our private bathroom and toilet. Should we come again we will of course request a room with ensuite bath/shower room.

Nothing to dislike here. The best accomodation we have ever experienced. The room was perfect [room 2]. We even had our own private steam room!. The food at breakfast was top quality with various fish options if you didn't feel like a fry up, including: smoked salmon with scrambled egg and smoked haddock with poached eggs and, of course, not forgetting exquisite kippers. The hosts, Mike and Michelle were truly perfect as was their young son, Dylan. We will be returning for certain next year.

This is a BIG ZERO. There is nothing to dislike here.
