Lovely warm welcome and all way through our visit the hosts were brilliant, fantastic breakfast pre ordered the night before so no waiting in the morning all fresh products...the room small garden room own entrance from the garden loved it. Little patio set out side and straight to the swimming pool ( the weather was glorious)...Mini fridge in the room fresh milk provided everyday tea,coffee and biscuits topped up, added bonus...The room it's self double bed ample space either side ,big built in wardrobe, good size shower cubicle and bathroom . Everything was immaculate !!! Enjoyed our stay there would highly recommend the Charterhouse.xxxx

Everything!! The hosts were just so accommodating and would help with any request. Having a mobile number to send messages was so convenient. The breakfast- great system and the food was fresh and so tasty. Facilities- we made use of the pool each day and chilled in the garden. The room- we had the ground floor room with a patio that led to the swimming pool. My son absolutely loved this and great to get on the garden and car park. The room was clean and contained everything that we needed. The bathroom was a good size and with a decent shower. The toiletries were amazing- quality and not cheap. Location- short drive from the heart of Torquay.

Nothing- everything was great for us.

The Charterhouse is a gem of a place to stay. It is on a very quiet road which is lovely to come back to after a night out in the busy town. Parking was on site with no problems with coming and going. Lisa, our host, was so very welcoming nothing was too much trouble for her. Our room was beautifully clean and well presented with plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and bottled water on arrival, and replenished frequently. We had one of the 2 garden rooms with our own little patio and table and chairs which was such an added bonus. The swimming pool was lovely, again very clean and looked after. The breakfast menu was exceptional thanks to Christoph. There was a selection of cereals, yoghurt, jams and marmalades all sourced from local farms etc. There is a great bus service at the bottom of the road numbers 12 and 22 which will take you straight into town or the opposite way into Paignton. Thank you again Lisa and Christoph. An absolute wonderful stay.

The people running the place were charming and couldn't do enough to help us, from suggestions of great local places to refills on the complementary tea coffee and milk. The room was charming and clean with decent facilities and plenty of storage space. The pool was unfortunately closed as we visited in the off season but I can imagine that being a real treat during the summer months. The location was superb, an easy walk into town along the shore front and right next to the main bus lines if you were travelling further.

The Charterhouse is in a lovely location and is a beautiful property within easy reach to the town and surrounding areas. Our hosts were really welcoming. Felt really homely and nothing was too much trouble. Facilities were good and they also offer relaxing spa treatments. The breakfasts were fantastic quality and cooked to perfection. My son absolutely loved playing in the pool and gardens. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

There no negatives really, the room/hotel had everything that we needed.

We return to the Charterhouse a couple of times each year. This is the Best Guest House in Torquay! Lisa and Cristophe are always welcoming, and the location is superb! You are a short walk from the Sea Front where you can walk into town or jump on the bus to other locations as the bus stops are situated there. Breakfast is always amazing with a wide selection of food, which are from local suppliers. Lisa and Cristophe also supply free parking, and they have gardens where you can sit and relax. The Charterhouse also has a pool.

The location was ideal with lovely hospitable owners Lisa and Christophe. Our room had everything we needed including a huge bed, fridge with fresh milk, tea/coffee making facilities, ensuite bathroom with large walk-in shower. We had a wonderful freshly cooked breakfast each morning. We cannot think of anything at The Charterhouse that could have been better.

There was nothing to dislike.

The Charterhouse, on arrival is a stunning looking building with lovely views. On arrival we were met by Lisa who was polite and friendly with a great sense of humour. The room was clean and comfortable with everything you need. Breakfast was pre -order which suited us ,the breakfast was superb and filled us up for the day. We most definitely will return.

Everything brilliant.

Firstly our host Lisa was very welcoming and friendly, We stayed in room 14 which had a very comfortable bed and was spotlessly clean and had amazing views. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choices and nicely cooked. Very easy parking for the car. Great location between Torquay and Paignton if not using your car very close to train and bus stations. We will definitely be staying the Charterhouse again.

Absolutely amazing hosts- incredibly accommodating, nothing was too much trouble! My partner is Vegan and she was offered soya milk for the tea & coffee in our room and offered various options for breakfast over the few days we were there - it's very rarely this easy! Our room was lovely and very clean, there was a mini fridge with fresh milk in which was a lovely touch. The bed was incredibly comfortable, slept amazingly - even though they were other guests staying we couldn't hear them at all. It's really convenient for exploring Torquay - the seafront and the town were a nice walk away along the front. It's a fantastic base for exploring and we'd come back in a heartbeat if we're in the area again in the future!

Absolutely spot on, had an excellent stay- if anything, I didn't see enough of the friendly cat ;)
