Great place to stay, the room was large, clean. The only negative was the smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway and in our bathroom but I think this was due to people smoking outside and the smoke wafting in from the open window. I don’t believe anyone had smoked in our room. Lovely large comfy bed, nice soft pillows. Room nice and warm. We had very disrespectful neighbours who seemed to have a very loud argument in the middle of the night but this is something the Shah of Persia had no control over. We will definitely stay here again, good value for money.
Just the smell of smoke, but once we entered our room and shut the windows it was good.

Handy that it's a pub/restaurant, no need to travel for food and drink and it was reasonably priced Very welcoming and attentive staff I wouldn't choose it as a holiday destination, but as a place to rest your head for a night or two, perfectly adequate
This is really my fault for not researching the location better, but you need to know this is on a really busy crossroads; if you don't do well with traffic noise while you're trying to sleep, this is not the place for you Not the absolute pinnacle of cleanliness, my room would have benefited from a visit by a handyman to sort out various loose fittings and tired fixtures, but not filthy dirty Probably best described as having "character"

Excellent location with small yet very comfortable rooms. All rooms are above the pub, which is great since you just have to go downstairs to find a table and order food. Large menu with loads of delicious choices, and plenty of seating, including outdoors so you can enjoy a drink in the evening. Only a minute or so's walk from frequent bus points that can easily get you to the train station or the main bus station. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Sometimes it can be a bit noisy at night due to the close proximity of rooms and creaky floors, but since there's only about 8 rooms in total it wasn't a constant distraction.

The staff were amazing including the cleaning staff, so friendly and helpful. The pub itself is a bit tired looking on first impressions, and the surrounding area was not the best, but the atmosphere, friendly staff, and guests/ visitors/locals quickly made this irrelevant. We had a 3 and 4 year old who were allowed to play without anyone disapproving. Some even joined in their imaginative play. The room we had was fantastic with 2 single beds and a double, very clean and decorated beautifully. There is a bus stop across from the pub which took us into Poole. Excellent value for money.
On first impressions the surrounding area and tired decor of the pub. All this did not matter though once we had settled in, the pub, staff and beautiful room made any negative irrelevant.

Decent pub, good location for my work, decent room, good hot strong shower, good telly, a desk in the room, cheap.
Air con noisy at night outside my room (8). No desk lamp. Breakfast is good but it's essentially a la carte, so not like a B&B or 'help yourself for 14 quid' like some major chains. You have to choose either continental or cooked. For both, you're talking over 15 quid and you don't get any fruit, yoghurts, etc, plus you have to choose between toast or pastry. 'Juice' is not real juice. Etc.

I actually stayed for 3 nights not two. The room was very clean and comfortable and although I was at the front of the building I was not disturbed by the car park or road outside. Breakfast and meals were all good and good value too. I return to the Shah time and time again and people there are so friendly. Had a bit of fun with a fire alarm going off one night but the system worked just as it should do so despite a bit of disruption I cannot fault health and safety at this venue and have no complaints at all. Management and staff were very efficient and well trained to deal. The lovely lady behind the bar, ( I think she was deputy manager) really made my stay fabulous. Went the extra mile. This place is a non pretentious venue which is a world away from clinical Premier Inns or 5 star places. Good basic home from home and very popular with the locals and regulars which I think speaks volumes.
Wanted to stay longer. Will next time !

The Hotel was clean and tidy, and the bedroom we were allocated was a good size. The bed was exceedingly comfortable. We enjoyed the shower, which was powerful, as well as the Dove range of toiletries. The breakfast was very tasty and good value for money. We would consider staying with them again.
The property was a bit further away from the Ferry Terminal, than we would have liked. Sat nav instructions getting to the ferry was not straightforward. There was also a brief misunderstanding between us and the staff about whether we had paid for a second night which we had, although this was resolved relatively quickly.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, this includes the cleaning staff who sometimes never get mentioned! The food was hot, well prepared and tasty. Colin did his best with our TV.
Our room was very noisy being on the front of the building which meant we were awake at the crack of dawn! We were also disappointed that our TV didn't work properly for the whole visit despite many attempts to reset it.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Well laid out and clean. The staff were lovely and friendly, including those working the downstairs pub. We hadn't realised that if you stayed in you get discount on meals at the pub, when we realised and mentioned it after the staff were quick to sort it for us. We were very grateful. The evening meals were lovely and the breakfast too. We would definitely recommend and be return there ourselves.

The bus stop 2 minute walk which goes between Bournemouth and Poole. Plenty of parking. Good powerful hot shower. The super king bed was very comfy and clean
I messaged several times via booking.com and never got a response. So if you need to contact them, do so via phone. It is right next to a main road, down the road from a hospital. So traffic noise was loud with alot of sirens. The window was very small. Making the room quite hot
