The hotel was great. Friendly staff who were keen to help. Breakfast was good quality and plentiful. The bedroom was small in size but adequate for our needs. It was very clean. The free wifi worked well and the heating/AC worked perfectly, to have both in a hotel room is rare!

The coffee machine at breakfast seemed to be a real problem for the staff and the coffee it produced was undrinkable, There was a lot of dogs staying in the hotel which meant that I had to avoid public spaces as, whenever we would have used them, there were 10+ dogs around and I have allergies. Both nights we could hear a metallic whirring noise and a dog barking every time we woke up in the night. We didn't bother to complain as I'm not sure how within the hotel's control either issue was.

We have stayed here before, and love the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, good, clean room and facilities and lovely breakfast offering.

The lighting in the car park is not currently working, and you cannot see the ground conditions or any obstacles where you are walking once parked up. This is a risk of slip, trips and falls for anyone staying and using the car park. This was reported to the hotel upon arrival, who informed me they were aware and had reported it but it was taking time to be resolved. Please sort this out to make it safe for everyone. I have marked the review down because of this.

Everyone was amazing, helpful and informative. Day and Night Reception were very kind. The bar staff was friendly. So was the room cleaner who made sure our room was pristine and left a welcome message. The breakfast staff were welcoming, and helpful. Breakfast choices were very good, even Gluten free etc. The breakfast window view was stunning. Well worth arriving just before sun up for the dawn reveal. Great accessibility too with assistance available. Little essentials were free at reception like extra coffee milks and toothbrush kit. More premium items like charger available for reasonable price. Plenty of parking space. Walk in shower was clean and water was hot. Nice free soaps and good size fluffy towels. Very quiet room and blackout curtains. Plenty of good lounge space. Had gym and pool which I was too tired to try. Nice make up spotlight. Very good WiFi which I only used in bar lounge.

The Aircon was either off or warm. I couldn't figure out cold. Or how to open window for cooling, but only because I was too tired and dumb to look properly for correct handle or to ask. Maybe leave some instruction for idiots like me.

Staff went out their way to be helpful and welcoming. Pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room- fantastic. Lovely view over woodland from floor 5 bedroom. Choice of pillows, adjustable heating, nice soft bed linen. Housekeeping staff gave me extra biscuits! Reception staff stored.my leftover pizza in their staff fridge for me.

No mini fridge even though it was still advertised as having one. Group of drunk men in swimming pool on a Thursday evening felt a little intimidating as the only female. I made a special request for a room with a bath - I had a message saying they'd accepted my request but the room just had a shower. It was still nice and hot though

Location was perfect for our stay, we were house hunting in the area. As we had our dog with us the hotel was superb as their dog friendly staff and policy enabled us to have our bestie with us 😊 We found a great dog walk close by which was terrific

Only minus point was a function being held there on the Saturday night and as a result, the car park was overrun by stupidity regarding the car parking. Cars were abandoned in the most ridiculous places and furthermore in the morning litter was strewn around the previously immaculate grounds, such a shame for the staff who try to keep the property looking good. To be fair it’s not the hotels fault if visitors to the site are just plain ignorant.

Excellent shower facilities. Very quiet location. Breakfast facilities very good, especially the full English choices. Car parking area.

Air con on/off switch not working which wasn't ideal with there being a heatwave during our 3 night stay. Partly our own fault for not reporting it until we checked out. There was no net curtain up at the window & our room could be seen from public corridor & from the hotels front balcony. We had to keep the curtains closed most of the time we were in our room. The room was probably one of the smallest we've stayed in but for what we paid, we can't really complain.

We were half board but due to a high number of guests, they had run out of several of the choices available on the special half board . We were very restricted in our meal choices. Although what we had was very good quality and nicely presented. Breakfast in our last morning, the kitchen had only 3 eggs left, again poor stock control !!!!!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The receptionist, on arrival, was exceptionally good. All helpful accommodating a guest with limited mobility. Lift to our floor and ample space for mobility scooter, ramps to all areas where required. The breakfast offering was excellent and there was a huge selection to choose from. The location suited our needs and was quiet. We heard no disturbance at all, throughout our stay. The room was well designed with more than adequate space and all favilities we needed. Bed, easy chair and desk chair all comfortable.

For a less mobile guest, the distance from public areas to accommodation would be difficult without wheelchair or other mobility aids. We found the bed quilt too thick and no alternative was available.. Would have preferred more bedside storage than a single shelf either side.

Perfect stop-over re heading into (deepest) Wales .. from far-flung Scotland! Parking spot-on, and check-in/Reception very good - thanks to Meg for her very enthusiastic and warm welcome - and nothing too much bother attitude. Room seemed recently refurbished; clean, bedding immaculate (always good!) and overall inviting - though very small! Dinner excellent; fish and chips, delicious .. service and attention from server, Kate, first class .. great customer service, and engaging. Breakfast superb!! Overall, great stay … certainly no complaints.

Can see a few things - like tired-decor etc - need updating/improving .. assume, programme of modernisation etc underway, which seemed ‘evident’?

The staff absolutely made it - they were all friendly, smiling, helpful and informative and went above and beyond for us. We visited as we needed somewhere to stay while we were in the area, hours away from home to say goodbye to a love one who was dying and died while we were staying. The kindness of staff helped us through a very difficult time. They made bespoke food for us and when the pancakes that they use (bought in) ran out, the chef whipped up a homemade batch especially for our children. It meant the world on a morning where we awoke to very bad news.

We enjoyed a swim before leaving however the staff member on duty was far from welcoming (health club employee). We felt like an inconvenience and she told our children off for jumping in, when we pointed out that it wasn’t our children, it was another child from another family she didn’t even apologise for her mistake. She really let her colleagues down.
