My room was basic but clean, I stayed 1 night to attend a party downstairs. The location was great, the staff were lovely & the breakfast was amazing. There were plenty of plug sockets, which was great & the room was perfectly suitable for a short stay. The bed was warm, comfortable & clean.
The light from the corridor shone through the gaps in the door into the room, which made it a bit difficult to sleep. I had difficulty getting the shower hot, but when I did, it was too hot & difficult to cool down. The shower tray filled up with water & almost leaked out over the top, I had to remove the drain top to empty it. The room could do with a hairdryer as I had forgotten to bring one. However, I didn't ask if they had a spare one available.

What a fantastic place to stay. We went to see John Bishop at Parr hall. A 10 min walk. As soon as we walked in they let us park free on their carpark instead of pay and display. We had a drink in the bar before we set off. The room was accommodating and very clean. Staff couldn't do enough for us , very friendly chatty and you could tell they are all a hardworking bonded team. The best is Paula's breakfast. Absolutely to die for. There was enough food on my plate to feed 2. 😋 Altogether a brilliant satay and would 💯 go back . 74 pound for 2 of us. Can't beat it ❤️
There's nothing I didn't like amazing value for money

It was right on the edge of the town centre within walking distance, right next to the train and bus station. Town centre has various restaurants for food. Breakfast was included and was delicious. Staff are friendly, helpful and the room has everything you would need. Within walking distance of the Haliwell Jones stadium. Only 30 minutes from Manchester by car. Perfect for Rugby League supporters for grand final or super league games. Really good value for money

Staff were so lovely, very welcoming! Very helpful too. Lively bar, great atmospere. Room was very comfortable. Great sleep both nights. Tv reception wasn't the best but I wasn't using it much. Didn't try the WiFi so can't comment. Shower took a while to heat up but was fab when it did. Breakfast, well the poor girl was off sick the first morning then unfortunately the next day's replacement didn't turn up. The staff were amazing though and microwaved scrambled eggs on toast set me up both days fabulously. So close to the train stations, shops everywhere although I didn't get to indulge! Great location. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thank you Kings Head, I will be back!

Just across the road from the station, it's also close to the city centre for food and entertainment. Breakfast was at 7.30 , earlier if you just wanted tea/coffee and cereal, Monday to Friday and 8.00am on weekend which was excellent. We had an internet connection but it could've been stronger. We were staying on a Friday and Saturday evening so a couple of party bookings meant loud music was playing till 11.30pm.
As mentioned above a bit of interference with internet and television. Loud music till about 11.45pm, but bearing in mind that its a working pub down the road from Wolves football club they do have to make a living during the close of the football season.

The property is in walking distance to town. Literally a 2 minute walk. A great friendly atmosphere. The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The full English breakfast was cooked to order and brilliant. Huge portion. Plus there were other options like cereal etc and as many refills on drinks to go with your meal. The rooms are basic but you have everything you need and they are very clean.

The room was ideal for us spending the weekend at Creamfields. Comfy beds, an ensuite, the BEST fry up for breakfast (which they'd pushed back to 10am-12pm for us festival goers) and the staff were super friendly. A good pub for a pint or 2 as well each day.
The shower wasn't very powerful and the water took a while to heat up to a warm-ish temperature (which was as good as it got).

Can’t fault the hotel at all. Lovely clean, comfortable room with very high spec bathroom. Tea/coffee facilities in the room and am adjustable heater. Breakfast was of a high standard and cooked to order. The staff afforded us a complimentary late checkout as we had an early start for the Running Festival and didn’t get back until after midday. Directly opposite Central Station so ideal location for travellers. We’d definitely recommend and will most likely stay again.
I really can’t think of anything not to like about our stay.

A lovely suprise at the back of the pub, where you will find a lovely outdoor beer garden with a retractable roof, which leads to a lovely breakfast area; breakfast was cooked fresh, with nice products! The room was comfortable & clean & all the staff were friendly & helpful; it was a nice place to stay & would definitely recommend to friends in the future. Well done team 👏
I personally would prefer filtered coffee at breakfast.
