The staff were all lovely. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. It was great to have a swim each day.

There were only two negative points for this wonderful hotel: 1 The hotel was overheated, so many people were saying how hot it was. I couldn't sleep the first night, so turned off the radiator and opened the windows. 2. The entertainment. It was old and boring. It reminded me of care homes in days gone by. I stayed in the bar for the first night but went out after that. Which is a shame as I chose this hotel partly because it advertised having entertainment.

The room was nice and clean, really comfy and spacious. The actual hotel was great, it had such good facilities, great pool, lovely breakfast. There was a garden to hang clothes, plenty of parking, and the location was great. Staff are really friendly too, just makes the stay that much better.

One of our rooms were downstairs, one was upstairs, and when we were talking in the room downstairs while eating in the night, we got a noise complaint as one of the staff were across the hall (I apologise btw, my brothers were quite loud). We did talk much quieter after that but the walls must be super thin, we got another complaint so we just left to go to bed at that point. But when we got upstairs, for both nights there, there were people shouting, laughing, music playing in the night, and they got no complaints. I don't mind the noise at all, but I was just confused why we were told off when there were people upstairs making such loud noise.

Firstly the staff were all so welcoming and helpful, especially Nicky and Claire who was very knowledgeable about the island,of things to do and see. The breakfast was amazing,if you don't want to stop to eat for the rest of the day try the Jurassic breakfast. Pool was clean, jacuzzi was lovely and warm. Beach just a 2 minute walk. Bedroom was great, bed was probably one of the best i've ever slept in. Happy Dayz lol.

Although the pool was clean the general area needs attention ie changing rooms, games room, paintwork etc just looks tired and in need of upkeep. At night there was an annoying sound like click click every so often, could not locate source of noise, mentioned to member of staff so hopefully when i go back it will have been sorted.

The hotel was clean - everywhere. The tiles were sparkling and it smelt lovely! The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming; the pool and games room were nice and with a 2 minute walk to the beach, the location was spot on - who would have thought that we were sleeping 15 minutes walk away from lions and tigers at the Animal park! Breakfast, which was included in the price, was great. Highly recommend!

No showers in the changing rooms in the swimming pool.

Loved the swimming pool, loved the steam room and hot tub. Staff are so friendly. Great breakfast. Location is fantastic, so close to the beach. Sandown always gets better weather than places like Yarmouth and Cowes. High street is very close for shops and restaurants/pubs on the doorstep. Washing line in the garden was very useful. Garden was great for my dog to run around when not on the beach. My last night coincided with the annual Carnival, wonderful occasion and only 5mins down the road.

The walls are very thin! Thankfully I use ear plugs at night. Some more sun loungers would be helpful for the sunny day, 4 wasn’t enough.

The staff were fantastic from the cleaners to the front of house. The rooms are clean and tidy and the breakfast selection was comprehensive.A special mention for Nikki and Harvey who were so friendly and made my stay an excellent one..

The en-suite was very small in my room, the pool was closed for the local schools in the afternoon /early evening on my visit (it’s great the local kids are learning to swim) which put me off using the sauna and steam room,I could have used them in the morning however.

I had a wonderful stay at the Wight. The room was cosy and very quiet for a good rest after long hikes, breakfast was copious, and I even got to enjoy the pool and sauna all to myself (I would recommend to go at lunch time when families are likely to not be around). The location was ideal too as super close to bus stops and train station.

The shower curtain was not ideally placed and I had to be careful when showering.

Breakfast is very good, they assign you to the table which you seated all time you staying there. Menu is good, freshly cooked eggs, full English breakfast, coffee, and other drinks. The main reason for us to stay there it is indoors heated swimming pool, so if the weather is not great the kids are happy there. The bar is opened from 6pm From the port about 20 minutes drive The beach is 5 minutes walk with the cafe and some water activities. Shop to get some toys Pier with golf and bowling Few places to eat. It is not far from Shanklin where is lots of other things to do. It is just 12 minutes from Robin Hill, 30 minutes from BlackGang Chine and 50 minuted from The Needles.

The hotel need some refreshments, but it is nice to go back in time in some way and stay there.

You will receive a very warm welcome from this hotel from every employee there, from check, breakfast to evening in the bar area with some music nights, it does honestly feel like family and I don’t say they often about a hotel, the breakfast was exceptional along with the service, the room was clean and bed comfortable. Pool is decent size for hotel. Great sized car park and included in the price, close to beach and good transport - albeit I was there for work, but again great for road access, close to beach and shops, along with it being a quiet area given its location. I would absolutely stay here again given the warm and friendly staff to everyone who stayed here. In addition this hotel can arrange discounted ferry bookings after confirmed, contact the hotel with dates and times, they will arrange this for you and take payment usually a day or two after confirming your booking, which saves quite a bit of money. You will honestly feel very valued using this hotel, they have a lovely book selection you can read during your stay and donate if you wish to keep them, they have a pool, games room and a small play area for children , along with an outside area by the indoor pool. Pets are also welcome here and they really do look after you.

Ok, please don’t let this deter you, it’s just advice when booking , so this was one of the hottest few days this year and I had a single room, as the hotel doesn’t have air con (neither do many in seaside resorts) due to the small window it did disrupt my sleep, even with a fan as it was an internal bathroom with skylight, not a problem on cooler days, so if you do book a single, be prepared, although this will be the same at pretty every other hotel on the island. So I would suggest upgrading to a double or one with the patio for more breeze if you are travelling in the hotter months, to be fair I was travelling for work, so the sleep affected me, if you are holidaying , you can catch up on the sleep on the beach 😊

Excellent choices for breakfast and plenty of it. Lovely pool - used most days but didn't bother with the sauna Comfortable room - nice to see two chairs in a twin room - such a rarity! Also hot chocolate sachets amongst the tea & coffee - great! Very helpful and friendly staff

Initial directions on booking receipt need amending slightly - suspect it is a translation error! WC/shower area was fine for us but I guess could be problematic for bigger persons or disabled.
