Centrally located to port and short walk to shops and restaurants. Room was a good size.

A warning to people with luggage we had two large suitcases and did need to walk them up several flights of stairs. It might be worth checking with the hotel prior to booking a room if you would be unable to manage stairs. The hallway between rooms must be thin wallls as it did get very loud when neighbours had corridor chats with each other or opened and closed their doors. The hot water system seemed to be under a lot of demand in the mornings, so it ran cold. Recommend taking your morning shower asap!

There was no lift to the rooms, and we had a lot of luggage as we were cruising the next day. Lugging heavy cases up the stairs was a challenge

The whole experience and stay were absolutely perfect. Staff were extremely friendly and went over and beyond to assist any of our requests.

Breakfast was excellent, as was our evening meal. A very pleasant atmosphere. Car parking facilities were good, and the location of the property was ideal

We waited a long time past our dining reservation. We were served drinks, in the bar area by a young lady, who asked the time of our dinner reservation. She then seemed to forget us until we asked for the menus about an hour later. Other people arrived and were given menus straight away. We were very surprised that the hotel and dining room only provided full fat whole milk. We asked for skimmed or semi skimmed, but were told they do not offer these options.

Our room Fortuna was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean, with a lovely sunny aspect towards the Ferry. Pre-dinner drinks in the Bar were lovely, and our Dinner on both The Friday and Saturday nights was excellent. Beautiful fresh produce, cooked to perfection. Breakfast was exemplary - with a wonderful choice, both hot and cold, and a great cup of coffee! Joe looked after us beautifully on all 3 mornings, and all other Staff members were friendly, polite and very helpful. We will definitely be returning! Thanks to you ALL.

The room is very nicely presented. The location is very handy for the Red Funnel Ferry. The restaurant was very good. There is parking at the rear which was very much appreciated.

There was a nice welcome when we arrived but nobody was around in the morning when we left. We didnt have breakfast which is likely why there was no one around but it might have been useful if they had told us where they expected us to deposit the key and leave.

We got there well ahead of check in and they did everything to get us into the room as quickly as possible. The room was huge and beautiful. As soon as we mentioned an interest in history the chap booking us in filled us in on interesting places, oddities and such literally within a stones throw of the building. Also had one on the best meals of my life in the restaurant - would absolutely recommend it!

The room was spacious, beautifully designed, very comfortable and with a few bonus items that were very welcome e.g. a charging pad. Lovely bathroom and toiletries. We had dinner in the hotel and the food was absolutely superb. Such beautiful dishes - visually gorgeous and totally delicious.

Right on the road and opposite where the ferry leaves. BUT, the opposite of that is that it's easy to find, you can see the sea and the double glazing cuts out the noise!

Fantastic location ; easy to walk into Southampton to the shops and theatre . Despite being on busy road , quiet and rooms at back of the hotel have a great view over the old walls . The staff were so warm , welcome and friendly , the food was fantastic and the rooms were spacious , clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back .

I had difficulty contacting the property and they only had one twin bedded room .
