The room was delightful and the breakfast very good The central location was useful and there were places to eat. The Hotel staff were helpful particularly recommending places to eat and making arrangements to eat in the hotel The parking was good and although the distance from car park to reception was inconvenient I cannot see what you could do about it! It was useful to be able to stop for a few minutes just outside the door
The shower over the bath is not ideal especially for elderly guests and there could have been more support. Personally I would have preferred to have a good walk in shower and no bath! The opportunity to eat an evening meal in the hotel would have been welcome

Room was fabulous, spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were lovely, in quality and selection, and were served in the conservatory which was clean and bright. The staff were cheerful and helpful at all times. The location is ideal, being just a short walk into town, to the pier or to the beach. The car park ensures your car is safely tucked away and the garden is a delight for a bit of peaceful time. The building is full of local history, making it an interesting place to stay and we will definitely be going back. A warm sense of nostalgia bringing my 81 year old mum back to what was her convent 69 years ago!
It was lovely to be able to open the old large windows, but of course this lets the noise in from the street, so perhaps some air conditioning might make this the perfect set-up? Otherwise, there is nothing needed!

Paid extra for a superior room and was surprised to have an amazing room with a 4 poster bed. The property was an old listed building full or character and felt like staying in a National Trust property! The bar was comfortable and there was a nice lounge/dining area overlooking the garden. It was a surprise to find we could take in our own food (If we bought a drink) as there was no restaurant.
Due to the age of the property the bathroom was not brilliant, although adequate.

My room was very clean and comfortable, had good wifi and flatscreen tv with lots of channels. The deco is old fashion in main hotel but I like that, they have bought somethings up to date like wifi and USB charging points but kept the charm of the place. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. Location is perfect 3 min walk to town centre with pubs and restaurants. I have stayed here many times over the years after trying B&Bs and renting flats, I now always stay here. cannot really think of anything

The view from the room. The breakfast. The bar and lounge. The garden.
The single bed was a very small bed. The bathroom was very cramped with the toilet very squashed at the end of bath meaning that it was difficult to use as you had to be petite to fit in that space. Toilets in public areas were also squashed into tiny spaces that were not friendly to people with even only mild mobility / claustrophobia issues. A disabled toilet downstairs would have been nice even if the rest of the hotel cannot cater for wheelchair users. Not all disability is visible but nobody likes to feel so confined when visiting the toilet.

It is very quaint and the staff were very welcoming and helpful
My partner uses a wheelchair and access was difficult. Steep hill from car park to hotel and steep steps to reception. Footpath from car park to hotel is narrow and difficult to use with a manual wheelchair. The room we had was fine but the rails could do with adjustment. The one by the toilet was quite high and my husband struggled even though he is quite tall

the breakfast was ideal as you could eat as much or as little as you like. It was well cooked and the choice was good for both a full English or continental. The room overlooked the main road and the view to the sea was good. The distance from the sea front was not too far and could easily be walked. The hotel does not have a restaurant for lunch or dinner but nearby are many pubs and restaurants for them. We would stay there again and would recommend the hotel to anyone unless you need a lift as the hotel does not have one. The hotel is built from local stone and is traditional.
The area where the hotel is hilly including the car park but its only a problem if hills cause people problems. Otherwise the hotel is great.

This is a lovely old stone, almost castle like house with masses of historical character and a novel layout. Our room at the top had excellent views across the bay, probably the best of all the rooms. The beds were very comfortable, the breakfast very satisfying and the staff were all very friendly.
The old character of the house meant that there were lots of stairs with no lift. Upper floors would not be accessible to disabled people although the lodge probably would have been. The carpark was also uphill.

the hotel was beautiful with lots of original features. We upgraded to a room with a four poster bed that was very comfortable so we had an excellent nights sleep. The hotel has a traditional bar and huge fireplaces. There are also the old bells for calling the servants. If you liked Upstairs, Downstairs or Downton Abbey you’ll like this place. Breakfast was served in the conservatory and they had plenty of dietary requirements on offer including gluten free food. They will also provide dairy free alternatives if you let them know in advance. All the staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a comfortable stay in a gorgeous Victorian home.

The hotel was an excellent location for visiting Swanage and had parking which is a real bonus there. The rooms were a nice size, very comfortable and in keeping with the hotel age, really nice. The staff were so helpful and pleasant.
There wasn't anything that was terrible, the breakfast was not quite to my taste, but that's personal choice. Asides from that all good .
