The staff are very helpful and welcome. The decor inside is down to detail. Spa garden is wonderful, however I suggest to try before dinner as it close at 8 quite early.

1/ There is a very dirty towel in my room. it looks like makeup and eyelash on it. it’s disappointing to see such towel in a 5 star hotel. 2/ Also the sound proof between rooms is terrible.

The bed was very comfortable and the rooms very clean. Staff were all very friendly

On arrival, the electric car charging points wouldn't connect to my car - tried several times and wasted 30 minutes when already late at night. 70p per kw for a slow charger is beyond expensive. Rooms and corridors/stairways looking like they have had their day with regards to wear and tear. The breakfast was average, on my second morning the boiled eggs were so over done they were inedible and didnt allow time to send back so realistically breakfast didnt happen that morning.

the location and building and rooms where lovely

the dinner was awful , really one of the worst meals we have ever had regardless of price and this was expensive which made it worse., the fish starter was badly undercooked with raw flesh and blood inside and the main steak was also undercooked and much nearer to rare than medium... and service was bad...waited a lot time after our starter and later tables where being served around us and we realized we had been forgotten. we had to get a waiters attention and then after a flurry of actively our meals eventually arrive.

Attentive service, lovely log fires even early in the morning, spa with good facilities and good size pool. Evening meal exceptional

Marble floors in spa dangerously slippery made worse by slippers- take flip flops. I had booked a small attic double but had a good sized room with excellent bathroom although windows were obscured due to banks of a/c units outside. Did not matter to me as arrived in the dark but would want to know about this if staying when longer days or wanted to open windows.

rooms were big, hotel and spa were very good and clean, staff were friendly and helpful. beautiful buildings.

the food was average, which is shame because this hotel deserves a great chef

Room - The room was lovely, the bed was very comfortable. Great nights sleep. - bath and shower were great quality. - nice and quiet - coffee machine in room, nice selection including with tea - bath robes General - The staff were all friendly. - The surroundings were well kept Breakfast - Nice range for continental buffet - nice choice for hot food. poached eggs great - Pastries tasted freshly cooked

General - Use of the spa facilities should have been included in the price, as typical to five star hotels. Breakfast - To enhance they could have had fresh orange and it not from concentrate. the pancakes were more like pikelets and not that fluffy or gourmet as typically expected. The strap on the baby’s highchair in the restaurant had been severed. Room - difficult to fill kettle from bathroom taps - additional bottled water which was hotel branded filtered tap water could have been complimentary - the tv required tuning and didnt have many channels (was looking to access childrens. - they could have provided smart tvs with netflix rather than a google tablet.

It was a very relaxing experience. The staff were very professional and down to earth. The hotel and grounds were beautiful. There were plenty of interesting places within 5 miles of the Hotel to visit.

Too much furniture in our room ( could take out one chair and a console table The champagne bar food didn't change all week very limited. Being a hotel guest we still had to pay extra daily for the indoor pool.

Beautiful property and area of the world! It would have been lovely to be there longer and enjoy the grounds and facilities.

Unfortunately our room was way too hot. It was 30 degrees last week granted, however the air con unit wasn’t strong enough to cool the room. The staff were very accommodating and provided a free standing fan for us in addition which worked to allow up to sleep, although it was still too hot. I would expect a 5* hotel to have good enough air con for the rooms, or maybe position it in the room instead of in the entrance corridor. Thanks to the team for making as as comfortable as they could.

- Style of the property and its facilities - Location is convenient for a weekend getaway - Electric vehicle chargers - There are bunnies living in the park surrounding the property

- Cold pool - it's quire refreshing to go for a a quick intensive swim, but too cold for a relaxing floating and slow paced swim - Lukewarm jacuzzis - both indoor "hot" tub and outdoor shared jacuzzis were lukewarm at best

rooms were overall nice, we had 2 rooms , "monkey puzzle" was lovely better condition than "maple" the other room which was dated and a little shabby , but overall good sized rooms and bathrooms, comfy beds, views nice from rooms ,they upgraded us and staff were very helpful, keen to please the bathroom in maple was again tired and blocked shower, with flies , but the other in monkey puzzle was spotless food was good and staff very nice.

for the price we would expect the pool and spa facilities to be included as in most other hotels we have stayed in , not have to pay £20.00 per person , it was too expensive for small steam room and pool.
