The room was so spacious. We had a great bathroom and a lot of facilities in the room; ironing board, kettle, a good sized tv! The bed was huge and really comfy they actually provided extra pillows in the wardrobe too!

We looked out onto the Main Street so you could hear quite a bit of traffic in the morning but it couldn’t be helped it’s quite a busy area. It was also quite hard to get parked as there’s no on site parking it was just along the street and it was a really busy town.

We arrived a bit early but we got a warm welcome and left our bags behind reception, and shown to the bar. We had a quick drink then notified when our room was ready. The room was large and nicely furnished. It had a large bathroom with a bath, and shower over it. All clean and fresh. The staff in the bar were very good with a great pint of Guinness served up. We had booked dinner and the food was excellent, with most of the service very good. We had a good nights sleep in a very comfortable bed then down for breakfast. Good service again from the guy with the big beard (didn't get his name) but he was great. Good food and service. We really enjoyed our stay in the Whistledown. Will be back. :)

During dinner my partner requested a spoon to help with the spaghetti. (should have been there)The waitress went to get it and when she came back, she threw it down on the table next to me. and walked off. Could have been a bit more polite and not so grumpy. She continued to have a "fed up" look for the rest of our meal, but the other staff were wonderful, and somewhat made up fo it.

The location is absolutely marvellous! The staff are very friendly and helpful, the restaurant is reasonably priced and the food is nice too (a decent selection of breakfast options and a varied dinner menu). There's a nice playground adjacent to the hotel, would be nice for the families with kids. The matress for the double bed was thick and quite soft, I found the pillows a nice balance of soft and firm and not floppy. The Wifi signal depends on which part of the hotel you are in. There's plenty of off street free parking, we easily found a place at the seafront.

The window frames are wooden and pretty old, which gives the hotel its authentic view, but if the room is facing the road, it gets very loud, even at night time. If you are a sensitive sleeper, I'd recommend asking for a quite room away from the road.

Excellent location, staff were all lovely, the food was really good and the place was very clean. Nothing was a bother to the staff, very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was lovely.

The bathroom was very crammed, the shower was above the bath, and it was very hard to get in and out of. The toilet was up again the bath, and there just wasn't very much room. The carpet in the hall needs a good clean.

Lovely staff nothing too much trouble. Good food and excellent breakfast. Comfortable beds and clean rooms.

Poor bathrooms. First bathroom had an illegal shaver docket almost on top of the sink and the loo didn’t flush well. Second bathroom no hot water in the morning Both need the grouting and calling looking at around baths as they look awful.

Fabulous location in bustling town (in August). Hotel has unique, vibrant decor in public areas with friendly and accommodating staff. Good food and an excellent choice for dinner.

One of our rooms had no view as window obscured by a plant and large extractor fan. However, staff were very accommodating and moved us on request.

Comfortable and warm (I could select any temp on the thermostat - this is handy) room with a big double bed. Additional sofa and coffee table - great facilities for reading and chilling.

Breakfast - I'd suggest having salmon to the eggs, sour bread and avocado, some good morning pastry, maybe pancakes. For those, who are not big fans of Full Irish breakfast, to have other options.

The view from our room and the restaurant was gorgeous, even sitting outside in the evening to have a drink, perfect location for views.

The fixtures in the rooms like the lights that's on the walls are not secured properly, the wires from the TV could be hidden, the toilet seat needs fixed, the locks on the bathroom doors in the bar need fixed, the hotel is gorgeous but there are small things that could make it even better.

The food was beautiful and gorgeous breakfast. The bar was lovely and has great entertainment on in the evening. The view from the hotel was stunning.

The rooms were very basic. No drinking water in the rooms and quite small. The bathroom had a few loose fittings , and the towel rail fell off the wall ! Could probably do with a makeover, really! The dressing table had no mirror, which isn't ideal for those who want to dontjeir makeup or hair.
