food was excellent. room service was excellent, hotel was in a good, central location for the beach and the town.

We were staying in a room overlooking the square but unfortunately the noise outside from Vinnies Karaoke and the pub opposite was horrendous. The pub was open until 2.00 am on the Friday and Saturday night and patrons were still outside shouting for at least another 3/4 hour. Vinnies was open the afternoon and evening on both days. We closed the windows and switched the television on but this made no difference to the volume of noise. This situation could certainly put off guests from re-booking which is great shame

We booked the Royal Hotel as we needed to make an overnight visit to the area to see a relative who is seriously ill. The location was perfect for us and from the moment we arrived our every need was catered for. The Receptionist was warm, welcoming and exceptionally helpful. Conveniently, we were able to park in the car park immediately in front of the property. Our room was large, well furnished with every comfort - (I think we were ‘upgraded’ … thank you!) - warm and comfortable, with everything we needed, including a large en-suite bathroom with plenty of hot water, great shower and large bath. Breakfast was fabulous, including a full English option. The hotel is reminder of great British seaside holidays of the past. If you’re offended by the odd bit of chipped paint and a slightly shabby chic vibe, it’s not for you, but if you value character, comfort, location and excellent service, then this place is a gem. Highly recommended … help keep these wonderful hotels alive!

Wi-Fi was poor but it’s a large, old building.

The food was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble, we used the restraurant for an evening meal, roast Wednesday the size of the meals was huge, all four of us thoroughly enjoyed the food and the doggy bag to take the leftovers. The breakfast selection was excellent as well. All the staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely with a sea view, the bathroom was immaculate too. I would like to thank all the staff for being so helpful, from cooking meals not on the menu due to dietry needs, to going and finding tooth picks. The service from all staff was impecable. The location was exceptional too, especially as have a partner with mobility issues.

The only thing that would have made it better would have been better internet as it did drop frequently. But that didn't impact on the stay at all and its only a very small niggle

Good location on the sea front, very close to the shops. Free parking included at the hotel. The staff were very helpful. The bedroom had been newly decorated & it was warm, very clean, & the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was freshly cooked & there was a good choice. I was even offered an additional item that wasn’t on the main menu. I would be happy to stay there again.

No entertainment midweek. Our room had a few steps from the door & bathroom to the seating & bedroom level. Some people may find these difficult so please request a room without steps.

My room was quite large and had a good view of Weston Bay. The shower was very good and the bed wasn't too bad. When booking, I requested that I not be given a room directly opposite the karaoke bar across the room and was pleased to be given a room far away from it as I'd had to endure noise from that bar on a previous stay.

My only real gripe was that I was only supplied with 2 teabags and 2 small milk cartons which didn't last long and weren't replaced when staff emptied the bin on the first morning. The staff at reception were happy to supply me with more though it meant I had to go down there to ask.

The room was lovely; excellent bathroom; good tv, and 2 comfortable chairs to sit in; good views; very clean.

The bed sheet / duvet far TOO SMALL for ANYONE - BUT PARTICULARLY A PERSON 6 ft. 4 ins TALL; both length and width (prefer sheet and blanket); Shower floor very slippy and dangerous. Breakfast - poor (sad!). The 3 ladies were excellent and worked very hard - POOR QUALITY and COLD. Sausages poor quality, hash browns just about OK, scrambled egg looked like 'setting concrete' and may have been 'packet / manufactured'. I love scrambled eggs but decided on fried eggs which were OK. Overall cold and looked poor quality. It would be so easy to make it better - make it a quality breakfast!!!

Location, Car Parking, Wi Fi, Bar Staff, Sea View.

Breakfast food was good, but only luke warm (all four mornings ). Some of the younger kitchen staff showed inexperience, i e, Asked for pot of tea, received tray with pot of tea, two cups and jug of milk, no saucers, no pot of hot water, no sugar and unlike the previous day, did not ask if we would like toast. We didn't mind as we have previous experience in the catering game, and have had to train staff in the past and it still beat camping. Please treat this more as an observation than a complaint.

The last time i stayed in the hotel was over 18 years ago and the hotel was"tiered" lloking then. i booked the hotel because it was the only one i knew in weston, However we were very pleasently supprised. the room was an good size, a side sea view. The hotel and my room looked like it had been complettly re vamped the bed was comfatable, there was lots of tea and coffe and biscuites towels etc and pleanty of hot water, There was a small heater you could use to top of the radiatorors if you were chilly, a TV (A LITTLE SMALL) but ok. The room overall was good 8/10 a good room. It looked like since i was there last the hotel had gone through exstensive renervationsand looked good for them. It has a large car park. There are pleanty of places to sit in the hotel or in the garden or beer garden to watch the world go round and take in amazing views of beach, My breakfast was excellent i took a full english of a exstensive menu A very good medium priced hotel, the price was right for the hotel quality i 100% would go back.

Nothing really, yes if you wanted to find things you could like it took 10 min to check us in but this is minour, The hotel is what it is, a little bit of paint on the walls out side my bedroom would not go a miss Hanging the huge picture of the Queen up some where but it is what it is its not 4/5 star but its a excellent 3 3+ star and good value for money, less than 5 min walk from the center of town & the beach no complaints.

Visit with my family, from train station to hotel its a bit walk but when you reached at the hotel the location must bring smile on your face. fantastic location. Initially I had an issue (personal) but then quite unexpectedly Matilda's Mum [cant remember her name] help me and it was such a nice gesture from her. Both me and my wife was really happy with her service and have to admit when she give her own opinion which actually goes with real customer service definition where other person put themselves in your shoe. Apart from her few other things i think would be better the dinning area lighting and carpet. Its quite dark in general. Breakfast with the same menu could be more appealing if displayed in different manner. Shops are all around so getting food or drinks is quite convenient. UBER EATS works which is a life saver for me, as the place im living its not work as it work most of the places in UK.

Perfect location for everything - beach, pier, town. Very comfortable bed. Restaurant food nice but abit pricey and slightly different to website menu, I think it needs updating online

Breakfast wasent that great, sausages not very nice, scrambled egg TO wet. The room wasent very clean, considering the price. The shower was over the bath, but the shower screen couldn't be moved to put the taps on for the bath, so you have to lean into the bath past the shower screen to turn taps on, abit pointless really. One of the headboards was broken
