great bed, ok price/value for LA, good roof top bar and 3-4 bars/resturants in house - didnt try this time.
if a drink is 16.- but you end paying 23.- without tips... thats just not OK. I feel the US pricing system is non transparent. I dont care how much tax the owner pays - i just wanna know how much I am paying.

This hotel was amazing and I would highly recommend staying here. The staff was super helpful, check-in process is smooth. Walking distance to everything Hollywood, I felt safe. The best feature of the hotel is probably the rooftop bar. Keep in mind the rooftop is open to the public and you may need to go up early or make reservations for a table. Later at night they open up the dance floor and have a live DJ. It was a lot of fun, left a little early to go to bed and you cannot hear the music from the bedroom.
Nothing to complain about.

The best pancakes!!! And staff is very kind and helpful. Nice hotel with a great vibe :))
Everything perfect! Except that there was a party at the little bar next door to the hotel and I could hear their music very loud in my room, there was actually an air vent that transported sound as it was a speaker (very weird), unfortunately that air vent was right next to my bed and I had to wait until 2:00 am for the party to end. Really nothing that the hotel could have done, unfortunately. Just ask for a room that does not have air vents LOL.

From the moment I walked into the lobby area, I felt welcomed and at home. I was warmly greeted by Angel at the front desk and was given the "rundown" on events happening over the next few days. I was so happy that my room was ready as I was ready to get settled. I found my room to be cozy, clean and simple chic! My bed was extremely comfortable and the room temperature was easy to adjust as needed. Mama Shelter was recommended to me and I was not at all disappointed. The rooftop bar and restaurant is a favorite place for guests and visitors alike with a fantastic view of all directions. Hello Hollywood sign!!! And the meal options were amazing and portions plentiful!! Major shout outs to Rob, Falcon and Ricky in the restaurant for your friendliness and great service. To Allie and Josh also at the front desk and to Chris with security for your kindness and the conversations we had in the lobby area. Thanks for keeping all of us safe, while you did your essential work with the warmest smile and professional demeanor. I am very grateful to you and feel blessed to have met all of you. I look forward to visiting again. If we're scoring, then it's 10's all the way!!!! This is probably the best overall hotel stay I've ever experienced. I felt the love from Mama indeed!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 All praises. Thank you!

The room is great, very spacious, stylish, and modern; comfy bed and bathroom amenities. The hotel stuff is friendly and helpful. Located minutes from the Walk of Fame, in the heart of Hollywood, which has its pros and cons - you’re close to some of the main landmarks and touristy areas but it’s also quite dodgy and seedy around
Hollywood is an okay area to stay in LA but certainly not the nicest. The hotel’s rooftop bar is quite loud which personally didn’t bother me but might be a nuisance to some

Super comfortable, close to the strip, had no issues with noise from the roof (third floor room). Staff were super nice to us and got to know us and offered recommendations for our stay in LA. Very affordable and great location.
Carpet wasn't very clean but hard to keep spotless, I guess, given the location. Would need regular shampooing. The rooms were far cleaner than heavy foot traffic areas.

The view from the rooftop restaurant was fantastic. I love the quirkiness of my guestroom.
There should be a sign that explains that to get the overhead rainfall shower to work, you have to push or pull the button. It was very disappointing that as a hotel guest the rooftop restaurant wouldn't allow me to order any food when I arrived at 10:40pm on Monday evening. I was told by the front desk and Security that the restaurant closed at 11:00pm.

Mama’s Shelter was in a perfect location, within walking distance of the conference I was attending. The staff were very polite and friendly. They heard my request for a quiet room and I was completely satisfied. I would’ve liked to have stayed longer.
It was a bit expensive. The Bar was noisy, but it was happy hour, so I guess that’s to be expected. I would have also appreciated a few other options for breakfast. I paid on the last day to have yogurt over my choices of eggs and bacon or pancakes.

The staff were over the top and excellent. They were very accommodating, and we even had an Amazon delivery getting an item we forgot and they helped to accommodate amd ensure we got it. there were homeless outside in the area, as there are in most of LA, and security staff did excellent at sending them elsewhere and protecting the guest as guests came in and out or waited on Uber/Lyft. It was myself and my 14-year-old son and we felt completely comfortable and safe. One night while we were there we went upstairs to the rooftop restaurant and actually saw Jason Momoa, security and all 😊
We requested a fourth floor room. However, we got a sense for a brain and they were definitely times we could hear the music from the upstairs bar. We were able to Dole it out with the white noise/brown noise on our phones and with the blinds plus the room darkening shade we slept great once asleep.

Great hotel. Very friendly staff, comfortable room (though we would have liked to be able to turn off the LED lights). The rooftop bar/restaurant was fun. Again, the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive.
The location was a bit seedy. Probably a different story if you had a car. Public transport not desirable and the cost of Ubers is definitely something to consider. Also, after 3 weeks in the USA, this was the first hotel that didn't offer toiletries in the bathroom, or even glasses in the room to have a drink of water, let alone tea or coffee.
