The hotel is placed in Little Tokio - japanese part of the city, close to restaurants and shops with an area safe for walking - as far as we saw. It includes a bakery so eating fresh breakfast was not an issue. Staff is friendly and helpfull (e.g we requested an additional bed which was solved on the spot) Rooms are clean, towels are changed whenever is needed. If you do not wish to use the hotel parking, it can be used the LittleTokio public parking which is in the nearby building (during our stay was 30eur/day)
The payment for our stay was taken twice: blocked when we arrived and taken a second time when we left. I had to make a request to my bank to return one of the payments. Either clarify this from arrival or be sure to have the amount available twice.

The hotel location; the welcoming and very helpful check in staff. My room was cleaned very nice every day and the bottles of water were very welcome. Did not have to go far to a number of restaurants, bakeries, supermarket and gift stores. There is also a cafe, and restaurants on site. The cafe while only having a small selection of food, was very good and again, the staff were very pleasant.
This is not a criticism, just a comment only. It would have been nice to have had breakfast included in the room rate. Similar hotels in close proximity to major cities I stayed in throughout California and Canada this trip all included it in their (comparable price) room rate.

I always stay here when I need to overnight in DTLA after a late night event. It is super clean, quiet, the staff welcoming, has overnight valet parking and a coffee shop on the premises. Little Tokyo is at your doorstep for great eats and the new subway line extension is down the block. A gem.
Overnight parking rates have gone up - somewhat pricey...

The check-in procedure was seamless. The temperature control was convenient. The hotel décor felt modern. The downstairs cafe was surprisingly affordable and great quality in comparison to other hotels' restaurants. Overall, the entire stay felt true to a 3-star hotel experience; it felt as though the staff were offering the best possible experience with the existing hotel facilities.
Some of the light fixtures in the room didn't work. There were very minor stains on some of the beddings. The need to pay for in-room amenities like water bottles seemed to contradict the fact that the downstairs convenience store offered free temperature-controlled water. The wifi connection was hit-or-miss. The need to use the neighboring parking structure when valet parking is full leads to uncertainty when estimating how much parking will cost for the duration of the stay.

The hotel is so clean and it smells amazing. It’s our first to visit LA so we were a little bit stressed and nervous. Once we got to the hotel and entered to the lobby, we felt so relaxing. The parking cost $45 but you can go in and out which is good. The staffs are friendly. They have a store and a bakery. It is good to have some snacks whenever you need and they also prepare the hot water if you want to have a instant noodles. The coffee in the bakery was very good! I had it every day during my stay. I love this hotel and definitely will go back again!
The hotel has a long history, so the pipe is a little bit old, and the water flow in the bathroom was slow. But I didn't feel bothered. Even the hotel is old, it was very clean! I can feel they are doing a lot of effort to keep the hotel clean.

Big room. Big bathroom. Clean hallways, lobby and room. Best location. Very safe. LOVE the cafe downstairs and the easy checkout snack shop downstairs (it was always open). A lot of public bus options on the block. Art museums, and historical museums basically across the street. Temp of room was always perfect and quiet.
I wish they had a water dispenser station downstairs (like in the airports) to refill my bottle. I had to buy plastic bottles (I don't mind the cost, I just don't like plastic waste).

The room was clean & spacious, and the bed was very nicely made and comfortable. The Keurig machine with green tea pods and the free water was a nice addition. The location is perfect - right next to the Koyasan temple in Little Tokyo! I'll definitely be back. I think booking early is the key as I seem to have gotten a good rate compared to my colleagues who tired to book last minute before our conference.
Nothing really... everything was nice. It'd be great if the hotel has a free LAX shuttle but hey let's not be too greedy :-)

Always like staying at the Miyako. The hotel is easy to access from LAX via the FlyAway bus to Union Station and a 15 minute walk to the hotel (or a short Uber). The rooms are large and comfortable. The rooms with views to the street side are the best. The Okayama Kobo bakery at the first floor off the lobby is fantastic- very authentic Japanese style pastries and breads- and great coffee too. Staff is always wonderful here and always look forward to coming back.
The only complaint is that much of the lobby seating has been removed since our last stay so there was nowhere to sit while we waited for our ride. We hope this is a temporary problem.

I chose the Miyako for its location: near Los Angeles Union Train Station in the Little Tokyo neighborhood of LA. Little Tokyo is a charming neighborhood and there is a subway station and bus stops close by to get anywhere in the area easily. The Miyako is a solid three star hotel that is very clean and well cared for and the staff was very helpful and friendly. There is a small coffee shop/bakery in the lobby area for a morning coffee and/or breakfast and they have a small area where you can purchase snacks and drinks. The room was spacious and comfortable. Well laid out for either relaxing or using the desk to work on a computer.
The first room I was in had a leak, but the hotel noticed it and moved me to a new room. I can't fault how they dealt with the issue.

I love this clean, beautiful, centrally located hotel. When my husband and I go to the Opera, the symphony, or to hear bands or plays, we stay here. Because it has a e relaxed vibe here and it’s clean and classy.
The only reason my rating is less than perfect this time is that we were put on the parking structure side of the hotel instead of the Mountain View and it made a huge difference. Also, the air conditioning unit in our room was making weird noises and it work me uob5 times during my sleep so that wasn’t very relaxing. I love the late check out (at noon) and the little cafe in the lobby.
