The property was clean and the staff were amazing! We lost a very expensive car key fob and couldn’t find it despite coming back to our room several times to look. The proprietors not only allowed us to do so even after checking out, when their housekeeping found it, they called us and FedExed the key to our home in LA. You can’t beat that! The owner also personally helped us bring down a very heavy cooler from our room on the third floor. That’s hospitality to the hilt! It shows kindness and how much they care about their tenants. Wonderful people!

The property is dated and the rooms are small. No elevator.

Staff, cleaness, location, value for money. I booked the queen room, it's very cheap comparing to other hotels given the location, but can't really take advantage of it because the lifts aren't open, would consider otherwise if I know this ahead of time.

No real breakfast, just grab-and-go type of service. The nearby lifts aren't open, so still need to drive to the main lodge to take the lifts, this devalued the location advantage greatly. So for early season stay, maybe call in advance to confirm the advantage of the location.

Excellent location close to Canyon Lodge. Can walk to the ski lifts. Be cautious of early season conditions if they exist. We had no issues but I can see how it may not be ideal if the chairs at Canyon are closed. Also hot tub was nice, rooms clean and quiet, and staff friendly.

Electrical equipment in the room was a bit questionable. Had to fight with the fridge socket to get it to work. Had to move the coffee maker around to find a socket and the heating unit was unplugged (although we did not need it). Also hot tub water seemed a bit old, maybe worth changing it.

We were a late arrival (11PM) - we called the staff while en route to Mammoth - our room key and parking pass were waiting for us at the unattended front desk, but all was good / great - no issues or problems; the first floor room was roomy, king bed was comfortable, linens and towels were soft and clean, view was really good (next morning); Good value ...

The on-site restaurant is only open for dinner - that's too bad, as the German-themed Dinner menu looks amazing1

Great character with lovely views. We went in summer, looks like a great location is skiing in winter. A little bit of the Alps in the USA. 20-30 min walk to restaurants and dinner available at the hotel with nice menu if you are a meat eater. Rooms a little dated but clean with fridge. Take away breakfast was better than none, nice cake.

Would have liked more breakfast given the hotel does have a restaurant.

Outside spa was working despite being out of commission for a period. Inside spa-tub was nice touch in our room. Bed was comfy. Fan in closet was handy.

Didn't realize how winded we'd get walking up three flights of stairs (not their fault, just high altitude and no elevator). Cord for coffee maker didn't reach from stand to plug so set it on the tray on the ground. Road directly to activities (Gondola, kid zone, etc.) was closed so you had to drive around to get there, but that's not the hotel's issue.

Great location, friendly staff, nice small breakfast included (muffins, eggs, apples, oranges, yogurt, coffee), cozy fireplace, great bed.

Sometimes internet doesn’t work well. Some furniture should be changed. Floor wasn’t clean enough for a family with small child.

Staff was really nice, room was comfortable and spacious, there was a little breakfast in the reception in the morning and a restaurant downstairs.

The only thing that was not good was that the shower water takes a very long time to heat up. I had to leave it on for over 5 min until it started to warm up, what is very wasteful.

Austria Hof is basically in the parking lot of Canyon Lodge-very convenient. They have ski lockers in their lobby which is very handy. They offer a grab and go breakfast that is perfect: hard cooked eggs, muffins, yogurt, fruit, coffee and tea. The bar/rests downstairs is wonderful!

The bath towels are looking a little old, but I guess they do the job.

Really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and mostly quiet. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Complementary take away breakfast was very appreciated. The shuttle bus taking you to the village downtown is super efficient and practical, few steps down the road you'll find the stop.

We were counting on finding a laundry service in this kind of hotel, unfortunately there was none. The balcony outside the room with no separation between the room and an access for basically anybody was a bit disturbing. Several times, we heard people passing by at night.
