The staff was incredible and I do mean incredible, before the whole sentence of what you need was out, the help was being given! We went to Mammoth to ski. We could have stayed closer but it was only a short distance to the ski resort and was peaceful and quiet where we stayed. There were no televisions but you could get one if you wish. The view from the cabin was wonderful, right next to the Twin Lakes and plenty of trails to hike on. Gas & wood burning fireplaces in the cabins. Dog friendly, plenty of those about. I can't say enough about the staff. If you have any concern you will receive help with a smile.
They were on top of snow removal and when we asked they put sand down on the icy parts immediately. The only thing maybe they could have done is cleared a small path from the road to the cabin porch. We hadn't asked for handicap but we were older. Younger people - no problem.

Really liked the location, the ease of just going out by foot to all these amazing walks and views. I found this hotel to be super cozy and homey, and I can’t wait to visit it during winter as well. Clean, convenient, close to the main town (you will be needing a car/bike). The staff were friendly, helpful and kind.
Two minor comments would be that I would like some more options for breakfast, as I found it quite limited in accordance to the total pricing of the room. Another thing I would like to mention, but I don’t think is resolvable somehow, is the fact that there is no good soundproofing and you can hear people walking outside your room, or talking from the next room. But those are things that wouldn’t stop me from staying again.

Our 1 bedroom cabin was really cozy and vintage rustic looking but everything functioned perfectly. There’s a wood burning stove all stocked with wood and a tiny but very functional kitchen with good pots and pans provided. Our cabin was steps away from groomed cross country ski trails and rentals so I could enjoy that when my husband drove over to the downhill skiing a few miles away. Took a Great lesson ! I took the free shuttle to the Village so we could meet for dinner. The desk staff at the lodge were helpful and friendly and called me quickly to let me know we left something behind.

My cozy cottage, which served as my homebase for a week of dayhiking, was a slice of heaven. The tranquility, the views, the proximity to trails (for strolling in addition to trailheads themselves), and the lodge itself, with its lovely lakeview restaurant, offered all I could have wanted for a getaway in the Eastern Sierra. I appreciate that the cottages retain their historic charm and are not homogenized into Marriot-style mediocrity. Bonus: the staff were exceedingly friendly, sweet, and hospitable.

The location and the bike path to visit the lakes were wonderful! Staff was helpful and available. A lot of people were asking where to hike and their staff made great recommendations. Having coffee and breakfast available was a nice accommodation. Having an attached bathroom was nice, but I would choose any type of room next visit.
The hotel is old, so the lightning in certain areas is really dark. We couldn't have donner at the hotel because I didn't realize reservations were highly recommended.

The staff are unbelievably attentive and helpful. The location is wonderful. The food and cocktails- while costly- are phenomenal. The cabins contain a kitchenette with EVERYTHING: soap, sponges, dishes, pans, pots, cutlery, odds and ends. The best part is the mini fridge comes empty, so I could fill it with my stuff and not worrying about overpriced fridge items getting moved around.
We were missing a patio chair at our cabin- but we had some chairs from our kitchenette we took outside. WiFi was incredibly spotty going around the property.

Love historic hotels & lodges. Front desk and manager of restaurant were exceptional in their customer service; very helpful and accommodating in my requests. Food (and I only had appetizers) was very, very good; excellent!
I knew I was getting a shared bathroom, but next time I don’t think I will. Narrow stairs to go up to the 2nd floor might be difficult for some. I had to get on my tippy ties to turn on the light over the sink in the room, and the plug for the hairdryer wasn’t by the mirror over the sink. Hey, historic lodge! It’s OK. Wished they had a full breakfast, instead of a continental breakfast for $25!

We visited for our anniversary and immediately felt welcomed by Manny at the front desk who made sure our room was ready so we could check in early. Complimentary hot cider while checking in was delightful, our room was perfect, and we enjoyed the cosy vibes of the lodge. In the evening, we wanted to make hot chocolate in our room and the staff at the front desk boiled water for us and provided whipped cream to top it off! What service! We'll definitely be back - perhaps in a cabin next time!

Beautiful space. Good location.
Very rude female bartender that told us off just because of few ice cubes we took that was listed in their brochure as available for guests. We truly felt embarrassed to be treated like that in front of other people. At night there were some noices around. Someone actually knocked on our door in the middle of the night which of course we didn’t open and they went ahead turning the door knob to open our locked door which was scary tbh. We hope it was an honest mistake but be cautious anyway.

Wonderful location, away from everything but very near everything. The staff, everyone we encountered, were friendly and helpful. And those traction cleats, offered for free, lifesaver!
The apple cider behind the front desk (which was so good!), should be a featured mixed drink with spiced rum when the bar was open. Stretching here: less slippery ice.
