The rates were decent for being in the city. The free parking was a huge plus, because most of the hotels there charge exorbitant daily rates for parking, and there were a lot of great restaurants and places to visit within a short walking distance. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and it had plenty of security cameras around the premises.

The bed was a little too soft for my preference, and the nightlife could be heard from my hotel room, but I just turned on the A/C and the fan covered up the sound.

I was so impressed with this place. I had stayed somewhere else the first night of my trip, and I was blown away at how quiet and peaceful the Castle Inn is. With staying in the city, most places are loud and rowdy. The Castle Inn was so peaceful and quiet. I WILL stay here again. And GREAT parking! In their underground parking garage there's an alarm that rings when it senses someone is there. It gave me peace of mind.

I liked everything. If I have to stay one negative thing, it's that the elevators are old. If you have a disability, I would contact them beforehand just to make sure your needs are met. There is a flight of stairs you must go up to get to the office that I didn't see an alternative accessible route for

The location is tops! Everything was clean and comfortable and for the area reasonably priced. We loved the fact that it had free parking, though it’s better for smaller cars.

Our only complaint was the WiFi. It’s free but it is not strong or consistent. We could not stream videos on our computers or phones.

The hotel was located in a great location - walkable to many attractions in SF. The room was clean and comfortable, it was also a good size room! The price was very good!

Visitors should just be aware this is a no-frill hotel. There is no lobby and no amenities (hence the good price). I would have liked an extra pillow on each of the queen beds (each bed had 3 pillows).

The room was clean, bed was very comfortable, the bathroom and shower were nice. The microwave/fridge was a nice touch. Location is great, safe and close to everything you need. The reception team was very helpful with tips, places to go, places to avoid, etc… We were able to store our luggage upon checkout for several hours due to our late night flight. We would definitely stay here again when in SF!!!

Check-in was easy and parking were easey, and check-out was simply leaving the key cards in the room. The location is great: Castle Inn is near some SF tourist spots, but we were there primarily for a dinner at House of Prime Rib, which is a short walk away. The room was clean and well laid out.

The bed was a little soft for my tastes. And there was certainly some traffic noise from the street.

Castle Inn exceeded my expectations. The reviews had already made me feel I was choosing a good hotel, but ended up being great. The hotel is in a good location and they have their own free private parking and checking in and out was very easy. The hotel is like motel in the sense that each room has it's own outdoor entrance and no need to go through a lobby to access. If the price were a bit lower then I would say this was the best option in San Francisco, but reality is we only reserved a room there because I had a credit to use which lowered the price of my room significantly so the price was not an issue at the time. Still, it is a hotel worth spending the extra money on. I would stay again.

Loved the location -- just half a block from Polk St. where there was lots of restaurants and shops and just a 15 min. walk from Fisherman's Wharf. The room was large and quiet and clean. The staff friendly and helpful. And free parking!

In general the room and facilities could use an update but that didn't detract from my stay.

We had a good time in this hotel with my wife and 1 year old baby. GREAG LOCATION close to the main attractions. NO BEDBUGS, daily room cleaning, cleaning staff super friendly and helpful. FREE & SAFE PARKING, good options to eat around.

I didn't find anything bad.

The property is located in a very safe area, the parking for the cars as well as the whole property is very well monitored.

The room was very clean, however the ac unit did have a bit of wear and tear. Very nice hotel though, not much at all to complain about.
