Loved how modernized it was, in terms of their new-aged use of technology, from unlocking doors to communication with the desk. The pods were cool and provided privacy! The bathroom and showers were always kept clean. The kitchen was a nice, a good place to chill.

The phone booth wasn’t as beneficial because the sound wasn’t blocked, meaning it didn’t seem to be sound proof whenever someone was using it. It was interesting how modernized the space was, but there was no coffee machine, like a Keurig. There weren’t many tea options either, like black tea or chai. Also, it was sad to know that the cafe below the hostel wasn’t open during the week and only open on very limited hours on the weekends. I wish there was another common area to meet other travelers, possibly on another floor. The room was a tad cold and idk if there was a way for travelers to control the room temperature. Also, getting up to the top bunk was a challenge because of having nothing to really hold onto. You really have to be careful!

Clean, the pods are set up with curtains so you get good privacy. The shower room have been pretty quiet whenever I used it. The location felt safe. This was my key concern when selecting a place in SF and it did the job. As far as my stay, people were generally working professionals. It’s could be local people who are simply looking for an affordable place to stay as well as solo travellers. I’d say people were 25-50 years olds. However, through rebranding, it may all change.

The pure metal used for the pods mean it’s really easy to make noise. I was in a 4 bed female and everyone was quite considerate but you can’t help to notice slight contact make huge clangs.

The beds were super private and comfortable, VERY clean and nice shower/bathroom facilities, lockers are available, locks for purchase, internet and charging for your electronics is very accessible,

1 of the 3 staff members I met was super confrontational about me using one of the other floors facilities because ours was broken. The facilities on the 3rd floor were broken. The laundry facilities aren't 24hr, are under lock and key, and the staff selects your settings (there's a laundrymat a block and a half away).

Very clean, super comfortable & quiet. Large locker for my things. Hot water for shower. Beautiful & comfy common area. Location is great. Super nice staff.

Nothing major! Overhead bed needs a bumper between the mattress and metal support so it doesn’t disturb the lower bed. It’s so quiet & beds are metal, so any little noise wakes up light sleepers. Trash cans in some bathrooms were a little small and needed a trash can in the room. Very fixable things & it’s brand new, so I know there’s more to come!

I booked a business class pod in a 3 persons dorm (female) for 4 nights. One pod was occupied by another for one night but other than that, I had the whole room to myself. The pods are comfortable and don't feel claustrophobic. The room was at the front of the building, street side, so it was a bit noisy which was to be expected (fine with earplugs, which are actually available at reception). The kitchenette has a microwave and fridge, there is free tea/coffee. it was perfect for me as I wasn't going to cook or stay indoor much. Check in was easy and the staff is really friendly and accommodating. Wifi was excellent. Showers and toilets were clean at all time.

I appreciated the double security of the front and room doors having separate lock codes. I loved the minimalist decor. The bed was comfy and I appreciated the blackout curtain for the bunk.

A trashcan in the shower area would be nice to throw away hair and wrappers from shampoo bottles. In the bathrooms, a little dustpan would be nice to sweep up hair after blow drying. Also a small usb powered fan would make the bunks more comfortable.

I extended 2 times cuz I like the location as it's close to the streets with shops and restaurants. It's clean and neat enough for me. Love the heater in the dorm and restroom. Nice view from the lounge. Easy communication with the staff. The soundbox is good. Shower pressure is very good, never have problem. Dorm is big enough to place stuff on the floor, and locker is big. Store room is spacious too.

It doesn't have 24 hr Reception, only from 8/9am to 10pm. So you might want to organise your arrival well. No napkin at the lounge or kitchenette area, so a bit uncomfortable after you wash hands. Codes for Main Door and Dorm Door can be complicated when your phone is dead and you dont write them down somewhere because then you can't enter. Lounge room is very small with many guests. Fresh towel is at $2. They do have laundry $10. No trash bin in the dorm so better to have a used paper bag or plastic bag.

Very well thought out dorms - beds were private with super dark curtains which was great when people are coming in and out turning on lights. Also a shelf, light and plugs by each bed. Bed was very comfortable. Lockers were huge. Bathrooms and showers were great. Also free earplugs which was a bonus.

Codes for all the doors were a bit annoying, swipe cards would be easier. Would be nice to have a larger lounge area, space was tight and often there were no seats. Also had a super annoying dorm mate who unpacked and repacked her bags very loudly around seven times throughout the night, though this was obviously not the hostel's fault. Be aware that it is quite close to the Tenderloin, so you may end up walking past some sketchy areas on the way to the hostel if you're walking from BART.

I enjoyed my stay at Chapter. (Premium Cabin in 2 Bed Mixed Room) it was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable (but no windows inside the cabin ) I visited there at the end of November, so it wasn't too noisy or crowded. It's also not far from several mini bus stations, some grocery stores nearby as well. All you need is to bring the conditioner and shampoo, which they don’t provide. They provide tower, hair dryer, and shower jel. Mini kitchen has microwave, hot/cold water, and coffee/tea. A fridge where you can store your food. Pretty much everything you need. It's perfect for me.

The blanket is a bit short. I'm almost 5, and it's a bit short on me already. So if you're taller, you might find it really short on your body. Next to the busy street, Franklin. Around 530am, you'll start to hear many sounds from the main street. Like traffic and the garbage trucks collecting the garbage in the neighborhood (but it doesn't bother me).

As a solo traveller, the location of hostel makes me absolutely safe and convenient. Is around 25 plus minutes walking distance to Union Square, Nob Hill, Pacific Heights (quaint area) and where Mrs Doubtfire house is. MUNI system also very convenient as long as you are willing to take a ride on it and walk, otherwise Uber and Waymo are very convenient if you have families and with group of friends together. The hostel is fairly new, modern, simple and it fulfilled the basic needs, is 100% worth what you paid for.

This is not against the hostel at all but rather towards the fellow travellers that used the restrooms but did not care about cleaning it after the usage.
