The property is walking distance to the harbor, to the wharf, to a nice beach& to downtown! The room was big and very comfortable on the 2nd fl w/ the harbor view! The continental breakfast and the wine & cheese in the afternoon were a nice touch! The staff were very pleasant and helpful! The view from the harbor rooms are lovely especially to watch the sunrise! If you want the harbor room on the 3rd fl w/ a king bed & a guaranteed bigger bathroom, you need to call them directly, otherwise it’s only a request but not guaranteed! There’s a lovely Italian restaurant next door & others nearby!

The bathroom was very small w/ a very narrow shower stall. Depending the room you book, the size of the bathroom will vary! The harbor view rooms face the street so it’s a bit noisy. The beach closest to the hotel isn’t nice, but the nicer ones are still walking distance.

The location across the street from the beach and a quick walk to shops and restaurants was great. The staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. My favorite aspect would probably be the grounds and garden area. All the fruit trees were amazing, especially to someone like me from the east coast. A staffer actually encouraged me to try the kumquats and lemons there! Our garden view room was very nicely decorated and maintained which made up for the smaller sized room than I’m used to

Everything went well, the in room refrigerator and pull out coffee/etc drawer was very good, excellent mattress, breakfast very good as a complimentary offering, also the complimentary wine and small cheese tray for an hour in the evening was and remains an excellent touch. Staff were very helpful and cheerful...

The pillows could be improved to duck down and feathers as opposed to manmade fibres fillings.

The location is amazing. The rooms we had were around a lovely well kept garden. You could get hot drinks all day for free. The breakfast was lovely. The bonus is they have wine and snack hour every day which was a lovely touch.

The rooms were quite dark you needed lights on when inside. Our friends room smelt damp and they felt their clothes smelt. The room next to us had their air con on 24hrs a day which due to the age of the units was very noisy.

Great location with free parking and a wonderful balcony that looked out at the harbor.

Room had a fridge but could have used a microwave. Check out is at 12, which is generous but when we asked to extend to 1:30 because we had a late flight we were told no. Seemed strange on a Tuesday when they had a vacancy sign up the entire week we were there.

Wonderful location for SB, it had a good view of the ocean and peer. The breakfast was quite decent for what it was and the staff were friendly and helpful. The wine and cheese tasting was an interesting concept.

For the wine and cheese tasting, more variety as well as identifying the wine and producers would have been nice, but this is nitpicking.

We often joke, there is only one hotel in Santa Barbara. Really what we mean is there is only one option. This is our favorite place

It's getting expensive. I remember it being so affordable and they are slipping upwards where the competition will be tougher. I can imagine a lot of the increases are driven by things out of their control (taxes, etc) but it's noticable.

Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Always cheery and obliging. Room was first class; new, clean, airy; had really good shower and dressing area. Mirrors, lights etc were all in the right place (not the case in all the hotels we stayed in on this trip). Swimming pool was heated and was always clean and inviting. Tea and coffee available all day and night in reception. In summary, I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

I don't think they could have done anything better. I would stay again without any hesitation.

We only stayed one night and were upgraded to a harbour view which was amazing. Warm spa and swimming pool. Free wine and cheese hour between 5.30-6.30 was very kind and nice way to see others. Staff very kind and super helpful. Free and easy parking.

Breakfast had limited seating so we had to sit outside on the pool seats. The breakfast you also had to ask for your bread and could not serve yourself which would have been faster.

Loved the location with easy access to the beach and State Street. The grounds were beautifully maintained and very charming. It is a smaller more boutique hotel which we loved.

No private patio's but did have comfortable chairs right outside your door. We happen to be there during a warm weekend and you really can't open the windows to get a breeze as the a/c unit takes up most of the window space. So, you can either use the a/c or have limited airflow with small window openings. Bring your own pillows.
