Late check-in was easy. Our immaculate room was very spacious with vibrant colors & unique decor. The bed was very comfortable & the temperature was easy to control. The fridge and microwave were both in great condition and worked very well. The iron also worked just fine and the soleplate was actually clean! I liked that the bathroom fan had a separate switch from the light, and the provided mini toiletries smelled amazing! So amazing that I meant to ask if we could buy some extras to take with us when I checked out, but I forgot.

It would have been nice if there were some hot food choices for breakfast, and it took me a few minutes to find the ice/vending machine late at night, but nothing that would keep me from staying there again.

What a find--we loved this motel with its retro-themed rooms. We stayed here for two nights, while exploring Mesa Verde. Perfect location for that! The room was very clean, had nice toiletries, comfy bedding. The decor was so fun! Breakfast is served in the main building on retro furniture, and there are all the usual, fresh and baked items, cereal, plus frozen burritos and hard-boiled eggs. The baked goods and fruit were fresh and nice. Great coffee!

The hotel is located right on the main road and some of the street noises are not drowned out by the AC. One of our beds was firm, and one was soft--once we figured this out, we switched beds so that everyone had the mattress they preferred. For breakfast, there was no non-dairy milk offered--we supplied our own. Also, one morning the hard-boiled eggs did not taste good. Overall, these were minor items compared to the ambience, friendliness of the staff, and overall great value of our stay.

Location, dog park

I made my reservations long ago. On our way to our stay in Seattle our room was great. On our way home we stayed two nights to go to Mesa they said they upgraded us to a larger room. I felt like I was put in time out. The room seemed smaller than our first room and it seemed like an after thought of a room. Everytime you mo ex on the bed it sounded like it was going to break. Then we kept finding these little buhs I'm our room. They were t bed bugs, don't know what they were we would do back again, but I think we'd a good the last room we stayed in

They have taken a lot of thought and care into creating a fun place to stay. It is an older hotel that they have gone in and made into a themed experience. It is very clean. The front desk people were very accommodating. Easy access to your room because you can park right in front of it. Game room, several outdoor seating options, laundry, breakfast and your kids can see an actual phone booth!

We had a 2 queen room. The air was hard to adjust because it blows right one of the beds. When it was on it was very cold but it became too warm when turned up. Not sure anything can be done about that and definitely not their fault. That is simply the only complaint. It was a fun place to stay. Exceeded our expectations!

Like the 1950s retro look. The owners have taken an older motel that most would have bulldozed and made it into something charming. There are of course modern conveniences such as WiFi, etc. The coffee served at the breakfast buffet is quite good. Love the fact that you can park right at the door of your room instead of schlepping luggage up a couple of floors.

The breakfast buffet menu wasn't as extensive as other places that I stayed at. This because there is no kitchen or kitchen help. Not a deal breaker, but worth noting.

We love the retro theme of the motel. It is so cute and comfortable. Each room is numbered a year starting with 1950 and then the room has been decorated with pictures of important events or people from that year. The first time we stayed in room 1952 with pictures of a boxer (I can't remember his name). This time we stayed in room 1986 with pictures from Top Gun. We travel through Cortez often and this is now where we stay each time. The property has lawns with chairs, tables, swings, a big chess board, a ping pong table, an outside grill, etc. It makes you want to be outside as much as possible.

Can't think of anything we didn't like.

Mid-century motel with parking outside each room. They even created lines between each space so doors could be opened without hitting car next to you. Old style outdoor chairs in front give it a definite “retro” feel. Inside is very spacious both depth and width. Very comfortable bed, good shower head and counter space. The theme of the rooms are designed around their number (I was in 1977 with Bee Gee and John Travolta disco pictures). They also use old fashioned room keys. Very creative, yet subtle and tasteful.

Nothing really. The physical layout is set back from main road giving some quiet, but requires learning to navigate your way around. No problem.

The room was very clean and decorated well. The bathroom was large with a good shower. Bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The breakfast had several options, and while we were not traveling with children, it seems like they had plenty of kid friendly breakfast options. The lady working the morning shift was pleasant and friendly and was taking great care of the breakfast area. Lots of outdoor seating options.

The young woman that checked us in when we arrived in the evening was a bit rude and condescending. After a long day of travel, we did not feel very welcome.

We had the Rock and Roll room (cool pictures of Rod Stewart, Elton John, Mick Jagger) and it was larger than we expected. Very clean and we felt safe. Awesome king-sized bed...like sleeping on a cloud. AC and heating worked great as well. The room had everything we needed including nice shower/tub with plenty of water pressure. Tons of TV channels if you're into that but we brought our Roku with us and it was easily plugged in to the HDTV and had no issues streaming anything we wanted over their internet.

Could have had a "Do Not Disturb" sign but not a big deal since we bring our own every time we go to a hotel. We did hear a little road noise but it was rare and did not impact our sleep or enjoyment of the room so we did not have to bring the fan in to cover up any noise (we carry a large room fan to every hotel we drive to...you never know when you have to drown out noise as we're used to total silence where we live at).

A funky nice and comfortable hotel. A nice alternative to the "box hotels". Staff was very pleasant and helpful. We travel with our dog and they were very welcoming and accommodating. The area around the hotel was a pleasant walk felt very safe. Beds were comfortable and was nice to have a real refrigerator and freezer. There is a dog park about a mile from the hotel so was great location for us.

Walls were a little thin. With AC on couldn't hear anything. However, without it on you could hear people in room next door.
