Location is great and close to the mall and beach. Beds are very comfortable.

There was a coffee maker, coffee and tea bags but no cups. It would be nice to directly include a few cups or mugs in the room rather than having to call housekeeping for them.

Great location. Easy walk to beach and Ala Moana Shopping Center which has dozens if not a hundred restaurants in it too.

This area (we have stayed at others before has 6:30 AM garbage pickup every day, not a fun alarm clock 😢

The Hotel amenities and location are wonderful and convenient, the Lobby is beautifully renovated and welcoming. The staff are all nice and friendly. You are just a ramp away from one of the worlds largest open air Shopping Mall!! If you decide to dine in the hotel's Signature Steak house on the top (36th) floor, the views are amazing and go for the Happy hour as prices are 50 % off. Nice list of yummy appetizers and drinks...the best deal as you will tell from the crowds.

A small comment that the partial ocean view room we had was mostly facing the mall parking lot and other bldgs. You had to lean around the corner of balcony to get a view of ocean. Could be a better room. (Room 1603 - Waikiki Tower). Choose 2313 if you can or other rms above the pool side.

I checked into the hotel for one night, at the end of a two week vacation to the Big Island and Japan, thinking I could be able to see the New Year's fireworks, if not from my room (which had a viewed blocked by other high rises), but there was not access to the top of the hotel to view the fireworks. Then only to find the fireworks no longer displayed at Magic Island. Things have changed much for this past son of Hawaii.

ala moana hotel felt like a luxury experience without the luxury price tag. everything was very clean which contributed to the luxe feeling. bathroom was very nice with a large marble sink and generous counter space. beds were extremely comfortable. having a starbucks in the lobby was amazing and the pool was beautiful. the ala moana centre (mall) next door was very useful. parking onsite was much cheaper than it would have been in waikiki - having a car makes things more comfortable but that said the hotel is only a 30min walk from waikiki night life

bedroom area was a little small/cluttered with furniture, but not a deal breaker!

The breakfast has no option for people with dietary restrictions. Very few vegetarian/vegan options: 2 choice of fruit, bread, cereal. But no soya/almond milk, no oats, no lactose free yogurts. I expected more from a 4* hotel. Also the breakfast was the same during our 5 days stay, no variation. The stuff from the restaurant was quite rude and unpleasant at times, especially during the seating process. Lifts are inadequate for the hotel size, during our stay and it was a nightmare getting up and down the lifts in a timely manner. The room is quite small. Kitchenette missing basic items such as toaster and kettle, common items we had in other hotels across USA.

Location is OK: close to shopping center and convention center. Rooms were nice and clean. The fridge, microwave and coffee machine were a nice bonus. Breakfast service was excellent. Staff was really friendly and helpful.

The distance to the beach is just a bit too far. I found the rooms a touch too small for my taste. It's a huge hotel so it feels a bit less welcoming.

The pool area really could have been designed better. The pool is 3ft-9ft. Who is really swimming in 9ft!? There was no way to really enjoy the pool among other guest not to mention the kiddos. If your in a group and want to take a dip it’s not worth it. If someone on your party is short or can’t swim that well don’t even bother. Having a friend standing in 3ft which was roped off with splashing kids and then floating around in 5ft hoping not to slip into 9ft wasn’t fun at all. Probably nothing the hotel can do about it now but it’s just a waste. The pool was my biggest disappointment.

Great staff in a central location. Breakfast was well worth adding onto our cost.

Beds were too small for 2 people and the pool area needed abit more of an atmosphere by adding music or a bar.

Clean, tidy & modern rooms. Pool area is fantastic. Gym is a good size. Sauna is currently still not in use. There were ice machines on each floor and filtered water stations. Card activated laundry was great also. we loved that it connected straight in to Ala Moana mall also. we had the breakfast buffet also and this was good.

The only thing was there was no cutlery or pates of any sorts on the rooms - this would be handy for snacks etc. had to ring house keeping and they were able to provide some plastic cutlery.
