We loved this hotel! Our goal was to ride our bicycles 23 miles from Montague to Hart, stay overnight, and then ride 23 miles back to Montague the next day. After years of talking about it, we finally did it. But we arrived at the America Host Inn in Hart very tired, hot from the sun, and in need of a quiet, comfortable room near a restaurant. This hotel was perfect. The managers (I think their names are Mary and David) were so kind and friendly and helpful! Such cheerful people! The room was exceptionally clean. And it even included a reclining chair - which was perfect for my husband because he sometimes suffers from acid reflux at night. The managers allowed us to bring our bicycles into our room for safe keeping overnight, too. We enjoyed our stay so much that we're looking forward to going back - only this time, probably not riding our bikes. One more thing: There was a continental breakfast available in the morning. It was basic - coffee, cereal, oatmeal, juice, milk, yogurt, etc. - but it was a very nice touch. Just what we needed to start our journey back to Montague. The morning we left, we talked to Mary after our breakfast and she told us, "We try to take care of this hotel as if it was our own home." It shows. This is an exceptional value.

The wi-fi wasn't working very well. We both tried to log on with our phones the night we arrived but couldn't do it. No worries. We didn't need to get online, anyway. We talked, watched TV, and read books on our Kindles. The mattress was a little too firm for our tastes. But we could have slept on the floor and been totally happy because we liked the hotel, the room, and the managers so much. We can't wait to return for another visit! If we didn't like the place, even slightly, would we be so excited to go back?

American Host Inn was exactly as I expected! We came for Electric Forest Festival, and since I'm not a camper, I needed a hotel to stay at for the weekend. The hotel is close to the festival and easily accessible - right off the highway with a gas station across the street. It is a smaller, quaint property, which is exactly what we needed for this occasion. The room was comfortable, quiet, and a good size. The bathroom was nicely sized as well. There was also a table with a couple of chairs and a lazy boy. It was clean. We were on the second floor which is accessible by stairs. The owner/manager is downstairs. There's also an ice machine downstairs. Overall, this was a great selection for our needs given the availability in the region.

It was definitely high priced, but that's because of the festival.

We studied the reviews before deciding on where to stay. There was not a single negative review for the property. I can honestly say that these reviews were spot on and not exaggerated. The property delivered on all criteria. We did not lack for anything. While not providing breakfast it did have a coffee maker with all of the makings, and there was an ice machine in event you had refreshments in the room. Above all it was very very clean.

The only negative aspect is the noise from the nearby highway. At night it is not too noticeable but in the early morning it does begin to pickup. Our room was closer to the road than many others so this might not be an issue if the room is at the far end of the property. Nonetheless we had a very pleasant stay.

The owner was super nice to us, even after we accidentally set the fire alarm off at 3 am, obviously waking him up. He got it taken care of, and we went back to bed. We were also having one of the worst business weeks of our lives at Electric Forest, and he made sure to take the time to check in on us whenever he saw us in passing. It meant alot. Couldn't be more thankful.

Honestly, nothing. After being covered in dust for 3 days straight, American Host Inn felt like a 5 star hotel. The accommodations were very clean, and the air conditioning was a life saver. Sorry again about the popcorn incident 🤣

We needed a last-minute place to stay for Memorial Day Weekend at the Dunes. This was the cheapest available place we could find. It was only a short drive away. We were delighted with our stay. Clean, simple, and spacious room for 4 people (2 couples). Because of one of my friend's work schedules, we didn't arrive until 2 am (past their official lobby hours). We gave the front office a courtesy call when we were about an hour out and they were waiting at the front doors to welcome us when we arrived! We also left an item in the room and the staff called us within 5 minutes so we could come back before we were too far. We would definitely stay here again.

The room was amazing and even had a reclining chair which i needed for my back problems. I will stay here with my family every-time I visit this area. The new owner was awesome and made sure we had the right accommodations. They also enforce the no smoking rule and the quiet time rule which is greatly appreciated. We loved everything about this business!

The manager of the hotel was exceptional. He was friendly and very helpful. He assisted in getting our luggage into the room. In addition, the room was exceptionally clean. We were there to bicycle the William Field Memorial Hart-Montague Trail which is very close to the trail. He allowed us to leave our car in their lot while we biked the trail even though we had checked out of the hotel.

We needed a place to hang our hats and this place didn't disappoint. Motel is right off the freeway & close to Silver Lake, where we spent our days. It was very clean and spacious for our needs. Fridge, micro, & coffeepot in room was awesome. We also drank all the coffee in the lobby! The gal in charge was friendly, attentive, hard-working, and overall a delight to encounter. It was a GREAT value for the price.

There was nothing we didn't like :-)

A well rounded breakfast with the basics, coffee, yogurt, cereal, fruit, and orange juice. My only recommendation would be to add an unsweetened cereal. The availability of an air pump was very helpful since I had low tire pressure, and the management told me about it.

extra towels when a guest stays more than one night

Location was great. Everyone was friendly. Ice was available. Yogurt and coffee in the Morning. Quiet place.

The bed was not firm enough. Pillows could of been bigger/fluffier, they were flat as pancakes. Next time, we will bring Charmin from home.
